Rope flow is so cool!! I haven't yet given it a whirl (😉) but I look forward to trying it in the future. From what I've seen, rope flow movement patterns map closely to mace flow patterns with the obvious differences being the rigidity and the weight. The rigidity of the mace relative to the rope is particularly interesting because it enables the creation of Tension Fields. These are some of the primary means of controlling the mace and are the key to creating and manipulating the mace's momentum rapidly. Super interesting, right? I'm obviously biased but I think you'd really enjoy the mace. Let me know if you have any questions, and thank you so much for watching and commenting! Happy flowing!
Good day and thanks for your questions! From your profile picture, I see you're a martial artist, so I'll give you the full scope of how to learn Mace Flow fast. Also, feel free to email me at flowmadesimple@gmail.com if you have any questions! I learned this over the course of time, mostly by myself. I did many years of martial arts when I was younger, and they helped me to intuitively learn how to use the mace. Specifically, training forms/katas were what prepared me the most for Mace Flow. For you to learn this movement practice requires that you progress through a few steps. 1. Get a mace if you don't have one (let me know if you need help choosing one) 2. Learn simple movements. This is how you will learn to control the mace - there are several critical skills related to mace control. 3. Learn drills. This is where you combine movements into short sequences to increase your movement power and move fluidly. 4. Learn flows. This is how to combine short sequences into long ones so that you learn "intersections" which are the ways to manipulate momentum and smoothly transition into any movement. 5. Free Flow. This is the peak of Mace Flow because it requires creative, intuitive movement with no limits. The key to progressing through these steps rapidly is to focus your efforts on learning the right techniques in the right sequence.
