I first noticed this lack of balance when showering - when you're almost certain to close your eyes - and lose your balance.
Everything you say makes sense. Thank you for the video; excellent information.

Your video on balance exercises at home is excellent. Our clinic performs data metrics on balance especially for seniors, and your absolutely right to add more arm movements in the corner to allow the brain to get more comfortable with changes in positions, therefore improving your response time if you feel unstable. Thank you for these amazing tips for your viewers.

Because of a tragic all on frozen concrete in 2003, I started using a walker, then 2 canes. But I have completely lost my equilibrium or blance.I feel stupid being days away from 76 and having had such an active walking & moving life. I hope to use your program and any others because I feel like a little child, first learning to walk alone without mommy's hand. Thank you! I have an active mind and a body that has danced, climbed on things, lifted and walked at the same time, and used to swim every day.

If you wear bifocals when walking, try taking them off or just use your mono vision glasses to see if it helps. I often trip or misstep when wearing bifocals because your feet and curbs etc. are fuzzy because you are looking straight ahead through the top of your glasses and literally can't clearly see where you are walking.

Thanks for some additional balance exercises to add to regime. Closing eyes is a biggy for me I discovered just how much I relied on vision for stability. Also had me realize why I get a fear of falling when looking out and down from a height, even steps with gaps between used to disorientate me if I looked at the space not step.
