I was worried that your brain would explode. I wouldn't blame you. What a freaking voice!

she is phenomenal. her voice can be soooo soft smooth and soothing, and then so gritty and soulful. such a gift and one i'm certain she worked soooooo hard for, all those hours of practice that goes into developing an instrument like hers. this composition is so exciting and such a totally different vibe to the original. you should watch her version of can't help falling in love ft casey abram's on piano. totally different showcase of her voice compared to some of the PMJ stuff.

PArt of the PMJ fun is to listen to the originals, if you don't know them, first, and then be JAZZED by what they do with them and to them! Magnificent!

I agree completely. The transformations are the arrangements are indeed Scott Bradlee's genius. Some of my favorite examples are The Strokes (A sorta garage grunge band) song "Last Nite". I was unfamiliar with the original, but the change to a New Orleans jazz is remarkable.
An oldie that I missed was the PMJ's doo wop version of Celine Dions Titanic " My Heart Will Go On". Amazing!

Scott Bradlee is the genius behind PMJ, he does all the arranging as well as playing piano - he has a large pool of talented musicians and singers to put these together, so it's never the same 'group' of people, this is one of my favourites of theirs - and Haley is just awesome every time! Did you catch when she was dancing, the orchestra switched to 'It's My Party' by Leslie Gore? 😊PMJ's over of 'All About That Bass' with Haley, Morgan James, Ariana Savalas and Casey Abrams is another fun one...! 😉

A really fun one is Mad World sung by Puddles Pity Party and Haley Reinhart. It's Post Modern Jukebox, by the way, but those are the singers. It's not powerful in the same way as what you've heard so far, but I think you'll enjoy the song.

Thank you for geeking out about the brief whistling in the song. I love clean, crisp, accurate whistling in any songs I hear. Rob Lundquist of Home Free is quite good also. It lets me know that there *IS* some appreciation for the only musical "voice" I really have. As for Haley Reinhart, she is so amazing. If you haven't heard her/PostModern Jukebox's version of Creep, you need to hear that soon. She exercises her skills so much more in that song.

another great haley reinhart reaction daniel. note, that this "don't speak" cover was released on the 25th anniversary of the original and has an upgraded elegant stunning feel. it had been over 5 years since pmj and haley had collaborated together. during that time frame haley went back to her solo career and released 3 albums while the popularity of youtube's pmj (especially those with haley) had exploded... i like the whistle in this one... oddly reminds of classic disney flicks like snow white and cinderalla... she does something similar in "habits" w/ pmj.. enjoy! 😎

Have you ever heard Lara Fabian from Canada? She seems right up your alley, probably start with adagio or je suis malade or Caruso. Or Floor Jansen, to hear some classical techniques in metal arrangements. Which makes me think of electric callboy too 😂, so much to discover!
I also really love Ren, but the beauty of his storytelling is in the roughness and deep, honest message more than polished vocal techniques..

Your analysis is always wonderful, love the mix between technical knowledge and passion! If you haven’t heard dirty loops, the world need to see your experience! Next to you, follow the light, rock you, work shit out are great tracks to start with them!

Consider some Linda Rondstadt, some of her lesser known stuff like her Mexican album, Canciones de mi Padre. Her vocal control is superb.

For a spot of whimsy, I recommend "All About That Bass" with Haley, Morgan James, and Ariana Savalas. There's an interesting interlude that you may not have seen before, as well as, the introduction of two new singers for your enjoyment.

Post Modern Jukebox are so good, but for whistling you really want Rob Lundquist of Home Free - Champagne Taste on a Beer Budget, Quarantine or their live performances of Rockin Robin, that was one they never recorded.

I've watched/listened to Haley in lots of different venues (not personally but through TH-cam videos) but like her collaborations with PMJ best; I wish she would get back together with them again for a few more songs.

We focus on the vocalists, but all the musicians Scott pulls in for each PMJ song are outstanding. For something a bit different, check out Jeff Goldblum & The Mildred Snitzer Orchestra feat. Haley Reinhart; I still can't wrap my head around him leading a jazz band, but once you see it, you'll know.

Part of the interlude was a different song, Lesley Gore, You Don't Own Me, very cool.

Happy to see you doing a dive into Haley Reinhart and her work with Post Modern Jukebox. Greatly appreciate Scott Bradlee's genius to arrange music and then pull different people together into his PMJ to produce magnificent performances. Fun watching you react to Haley and then listen to you break down the performance of the piece. Always good food for thought.

I suggested this song in another of your videos, not realizing that you had already reacted to it. I also suggested PMJ ft. Morgan James - Dream On, and that's still a good idea. How about another one? PMJ ft Puddles Pity Party and Haley Reinhart - Mad World.

Haley grew up with musician parents, influenced by the Chicago blues. Here is an example of her R&B and Soul stylings (playing with her father at Chess Records) th-cam.com/video/omtsHEs2g0w/w-d-xo.html

Sounds like you are ready for the Haley rabbit hole. She has an entire army (cult) of fans called Haliens since when was on American Idol in 2010, and is totally independent, managing herself and while she has plenty of original music of which I could easily recommend a dozen top of my head but I think a great way for you get to know her is this really pure simple Hayley, just her & her dad doing an old rock standard then an original of her own. th-cam.com/video/omtsHEs2g0w/w-d-xo.html

You've seen Haley performing in videos and as you could see, she was spectacular. But how good is she when performing live on stage in front of an audience? Here's a video of Haley performing live at the Nokia Stadium in LA. The song is from the Cardigans and its called "Love Fool" Be prepared to be blown away.
