    I bought recently BMW R1200 GS Adventure, model 2008.
    What a Bike, it is a combination of Sport bike, Touring Bike as well Off road beast.
    It has wonderful long travel suspension, 33L fuel tank capacity. Very light in maneuvering.
    When you ride you will find very comfortable and asking you to go more.
    It is wonderful Germany engineering and design.
    Regards
    Hamood

    Can you shoot "R 1200 GS vs Super Tenere goes for servicing after 100 000miles?"

    My XT660Z may not be as quick as the 990 and 1200 models, but i get min 500km to a full tank, less weight gives it advantage for muddy technical off road conditions and can sit on 110km/hr all day long and never had any issues with reliability... with all that said i still believe the Tenere has much room for potential. Aluminium frame/subframe, 5 Valve head design, Single Front Disc with 4 piston Caliper, USD Forks,basically stuff they did to other bikes 15 years ago...

    @TS50ER; KTM's press fleet were out on other mag tests at this time mate, and it was too late notice to get another sent from the other side of Aus. Stay tuned for Pt 2 of this outback adventure - we're doing it all again on 2011 models and will ensure KTM is on board this time!

    Love this outback experience. Makes a change from those guys testing "off-road" bikes on the road and a few gravel roads. Keep up the good job ! Hi from my island in Indian Ocean : Reunion Island.

    You guys rock!.... finally a clip that shows some real adventure riding.
    I'm sick of watching videos of lard arse pomms riding along some bitumen backroad, complaining about the overcast conditions and recommending everyone buy an Italian sports bike for adventure riding....gotta love that Rhino!

    Great vid guys. I agree with w3media,this what these bikes were designed for. Also agree with Mike B, the cost of BMW parts & service is ridiculous, & what about the reliability of the electronics ? Imagine being halfway up the Birdsville track & the electronic suspension shits its self. Less is more BMW, I say this as the owner of an old BMW R80.

    I've heard many boasts about the Tenere's reliability, more for the money, standard ASC/ABS. But the BMW just looks fantastic from every angle. I don't mind paying more and having to work a little harder to be a member in a club that spans millions around the world with a bike that makes me want to ride till I die every time I look at it. I've never been let down by other BMW Riders. Where ever you go you know you will be accepted into a group of people who are true fans and supporters.

    @Pwn00b No, i see this opposite. These are not only "Adventure"-bikes. They are in all terrain useful. Here in Switzerland and the south of Germany you have everywhere cities, towns, villages - a lot of population - a lot of traffic. But if you try to drive you can do it - on perfect streets. And no other bike is making more sense than a bike for travelling, with passenger, with baggage...or sportive - it doesnt matter. This bikes are excellent for all kind of riding. A R1 or CB400 is this not.

    Awesome stuff. Noticed that there was no KTM among the pack? What gives? Afterall, you did have the recovery vehicle for when did breaks down!

  • @steinert
    @steinert 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @Pwn00b Yes, for sure.
    And i must say it doesnt matter if you have perfect roads or some dirt... you have a much better condition, more comfort, on trips - or even long tours - with a big enduro. You just win no race on the race-track... but who is driving races for many hours on usual streets and with traffic? It is not a mystery why these bikes have become such successful also when almost in usual use :-)

    I have a xt660z and looking into upgrading to either 1200gs or Super Tenere. At the moment leaning towards Super Tenere. Any ideas?

  • @vikingforyou1
    @vikingforyou1 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    No more GSA, everything electrical is crap! Comfortable and strong when its working. Deep into East Europa its failed 4 times on differen electrical eqm. Did buy a new Super Tenere and afther 38000km nothing, absolutely nothing has failed. Comfort is almost the same as the GSA and the engine has an better power band. Front suspention on the GSA is also better. Looks? Hard to say? Tourateck has all the nessesary items to make them bouth special and hard core.

  • @C_R_O_M________
    @C_R_O_M________ 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    Damn, that sounded like an advertisement for all these bikes. Especially the GSA which I consider it to be the best advertised over rated bike of the bunch. This bike has inadequate suspension and weighs a ton. On top of that it can be seriously unreliable (see catastrophic engine failures, been there at 20k miles, and catastrophic rear end failures, been there also at 22k miles). I'm back to sprocket and chain options and double swing-arm for my adventure riding, see KTM 990 and bye bye BMW.

    BMW overpriced, overweight, under- reliable. Everyone likes to say they have the most expensive bike but it wont help you when your pushing it through the dirt to get it back to the dealer for some expensive repairs. How come the Japanese have been making drive shafts for years that dont grind up the splines after 25000 miles and the Germans cant.
