Wow, just stumbled across your channel and this video - what a surprise it was to see you guys riding through my hometown (Port MacQuarie) and most incredibly, stopping in at my favourite country town Comboyne. I love the Udder Cow cafe! (Oh, and a byproduct of watching this vid, it's got me interested in GS1200's!!) Looks like incredible fun/riding.

I met Miles on the Vic GS Experience. He's a really nice guy, and can certainly ride!
    Lovely vid, by the way!

Great to see the HP2 on these rides. Hopefully he had an extra tank fitted (under the seat). Stock is only 13 ltr. May give you a 180 km.

Cool video...captures the spirit, fun, and adventure of motorcycling, and how I feel about my 07 GSA...especially riding out west in the rocky mountains (states). The word 'Rhino' has some special meaning for me so that was a fun coincidence. Love the music...perfect companion to the riding scenes and beautiful scenery...great job.

The 1200GS is more capable than you think. That sandy section was not all the bike's fault. They just require a slightly different approach in the sand. You can really take them anywhere, you just need to work a little harder.

In sand, you have to keep it pinned so the front is only just touching, the minute you shut off you end up doing what these guys did, its hard to master though. Also for those who think they cant be thrown about off road, watch a Simon Pavey video!! he teaches for BMW UK off road school... its all about the rider not the bike..

BMW is pushing hard for larger more expensive bike, the kicker is you can have as much or even more fun on the smaller F800/650GS on tigher trails. On the trails, bigger doesn't mean better.

I didn't say no one should have a GS or Triumph XC. I just said they're pigs offroad and there are loads of videos like this one on youtube that have people deluding themselves. For the record, I have passenger pegs, and you'd be surprised what a sheepskin and gel seat cover can do. For my current needs it will always be my bike of choice, I like to do single track at the end of my 4000km journey

i so live in the wrong country. lookes like a awesome trip!!!
And @tosgem - there is a real difference between a ALLroad and a OFFroad, i would really like to see you taking your tiny little offroad yamaha on the highway doing 120 and drive 500 Miles on it, i double dare you.
The GS isnt a true OFFroad bike but a bike that goes ALLroads see the difference here, you can take it offroad, and the failing in the sand was purely a drivers error, it isnt a 120kilo dirtbike

Nope. Heavy pig offroad and all these videos saying otherwise are really quite deceptive. My mate had a GS800, decent rider, had trouble in places offroad, with knobby tyres on, where my WR250X motard breezed by with road tyres. I've ridden that motard 8000km in 2 weeks, across Australian desert and bush (with other guys on GS's and triumphs), and I don't know why they were out there. Scared to drop it, scared to go down a single track where they can't turn around. Pointless bikes.

Rhino - a large animal - very stupid on the edge of extinction - wow - is the agency happy with that?? ...da event hijacked into a twelve hundred self promotion, selfies of the camera man, prima donna bmw staff - 70 bikes in the 800/650 class get marginalised ignored - the rhino commentary - spoken like a KTM rider trying to like a 1200GS??? Nice camera & lens - recut the footage so it to feel like a riders event where every GS is welcome, including 650s and 800s and not an advert for 1200's.
