That’s so scary! And I can relate. I was visiting a village in Ireland (I’m from USA), and went for a walk by myself. I started to get low fast, and my phone wouldn’t connect so I couldn’t call my husband to get me. I had already eaten the few gummies I had and they weren’t helping and I was 52 and still heading down. I walked into a candy shop, bought some candy and stood in the doorway of the shop shoving candy down until I felt better. The woman in the shop was eyeing me so strangely! Must have looked like I had a strange candy addiction 😂. I learned a lesson to be more careful though (after 50 years T1D), very scary.
I was out on a day trip on my own but in a very busy crowded noisy village. I went in a pub to use the toilet and quickly discovered I was VERY low. I get distracted and confused when I’m going low fast. I spoke to 2 ladies in the bathroom and I said “my blood sugar is low”, I didn’t explain any further and they just looked at me and walked off I knew I had to move and get something ASAP. I wandered into the pub and got a glass of coke cola, full sugar. I sat at a table and it took well over half an hour for me to feel better. I felt alone even though there were people everywhere. I don’t get much in the way of hypo warnings. Type 1 for 52 years on closed loop pump. I totally got what you were saying on your video. Thank you. (am in UK), love your channel. xx
