Thanks! I know there's a lot of people who loved the anime and I liked it too, but I also think there's a lot of fair criticisms you can make, so I hope I got that balance across.
My thoughts exactly! Erased is so infuriatingly close to being great. The ending felt sudden . If they gave enough time to the characters maybe the current ending could’ve been great. I personally wanted kayo and saturo to end up together . I get that airi was shoehorned for that purpose but my brain picked it up as she’s giving hope to saturo as a reminder of his past and as her little sister . Like damnn 12 years is a big age gap. The show had a weak murder mystery plot but I honestly forgot it existed in some episodes I was in it to see the relationship between saturo and kayo . But the ending unfortunately was about closing the murder mystery case by arresting the killer and that’s satisfactory on its own right but the story forgot to give the relationship it thrived on a satisfactory ending. But Omg the first 8 episodes are so good. Erased truly is a masterpiece but forgot what it wanted to do in the first place . Shame to not see kayo and saturo together in the end tho.Even the translation of the intro song hints to all the series focusing on kayo , and he needed to fix that past mistake and get her to fill the void in her heart , it was obvious saturo loved kayo in the end. But it’s still a great watch! It also has the best anime mom so that’s a plus too lol . Erased was amazing
Interesting about the intro song, I didn't know that. And yeah, I mean it's not as if I was rooting for Satoru and Airi to get together or cared if they did, I just predicted that would be the case. The age gap between them is weird because if that's going to be her only major role in the story, why not just make her closer to Satoru's age? But whatever. Romance aside, Satoru and Kayo is what pulls the story together. I get what you mean about forgetting the murder plot existed because it really does seem very secondary at times. I pretty much feel that if Kayo's life was already at risk from her abusive guardians, and if getting her away from that abuse is what the characters are going to spend most of their time doing and where the audience is going to be the most emotionally invested, maybe that should be the main plotline and not some opportunistic murderer who's ridiculously obvious almost right away. It's annoying that I wouldn't care so much about those issues if I didn't like the show as much as I did.
@@VogJam Yep! I agree the plot line should’ve revolved around that instead of the murder mystery. The viewers were invested in that plot more than the murderer plot ! And same it’s annoying cause I love this show too much . And I agree with why not just decrease the age gap . They have saturo telling she’s a minor and a highschool student in the first episode so I didn’t count the possibility of them getting together and when they introduced kayo and the scenes of them together I just thought airi reminded saturo of the past so it was for a motivational purpose. The kids energy was portrayed beautifully , the children felt fun and had a hint of nostalgia so that was great .After some of the episodes I forgot about the murder plot and was in it to just see kayo getting saved by saturo .And Yep the murderer was very predictable. I loved erased lol maybe that’s why these things bother me to the extent they do
Thanks and don’t let me stop you from revisiting the show. It’s still a fun watch and from a more critical standpoint, I think the way that the story still kind of holds emotionally despite its really obvious flaws makes it almost even more fun to break down.
The ending was rushed in the anime.though i am not sure but i think its better in the manga.nevertheless this show is worth watching.the biggest praise i have for this show is that it feels cinematic i guess the aspect ratio does help.
Yeah, I've heard that the manga does the ending better. The anime does still stick with me though. The longer I've gone since I watched it, the more I'm appreciating the really good moments it had.
Crazy how this only has 4 views, it feels professional and all the points brought up were valid!

Such an amazing video man, keep it up
Thanks, means a lot. I really enjoyed making this one.
@@VogJam Glad you enjoyed making it, keep making more great vids!
Great video! I remember wanting to revisit it myself but this video covers everything perfectly. You've got a new watcher from me :)

The relationship is Made in Abyss levels of ick for me. Adult possesses his 10 year old self to romance a 10 year old? Er....
Great review just finished it like an hour ago and wanted some other point of views I wish there was like 12 more episodes
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed my review, what did you make of the story?
I really liked this show

I agree
Thanks, glad it all worked out for you in the end 👍
