World's Smartest Atheist Finally Admits What Christians Knew All Along

  • Oxford chemist Peter Atkins has been promoting atheism for decades. However, when asked if there is any evidence that could possibly convince him that he's wrong, Dr. Atkins admitted that his position is unfalsifiable. That is, he would never accept any evidence against atheism. David Wood discusses the issue.

      Sky Daddy!
      The authors knew how foolish unbelievers are no matter what era.
      This might be just one of the many reasons why humans are consigned to eternal Hell along with demons. (Demons were angels who saw God's face and dwelled in his glorious presence....yet still rebelled). So humans who openly admit to "rejecting God no matter what evidence presents itself"...deserve to be separated from God, alongside their own ilk forever.
      It's sad but such ppl damn themselves with their own lips and won't even leave room for redemption (even as a wise precaution). Even though Saul persecuted Christians & didn't believe in Jesus as our Savior (before Damascus), he was NEVER as arrogant or hard hearted as many modern atheists. (After all Paul still believed in God and was actually able to be convinced that Jesus is what he said he was).
      Pride is definitely the worst sin.

      You're right - though I can't speak for everyone.
      What made me hate Christianity was what you mentioned (god lets evil in the world => god is bad) and there's also the hypocrisy of western Christians and their pastors themselves. To copy-paste what I wrote earlier:
      When they only preach about "love" and "tolerance" when it is clear from the Bible that there are standards and commandments that obviously clash with the hedonism of today's society. Honestly this hypocrisy is what made me hate Christianity before; I would see it as a religion of meek cowards who fear the words "-phobe", "intolerant", "patriarchal", too passive to assert their believes. African pastors are the only ones who still fight the good fight and don't succumb to leftist/progressive madness.
      I have come to terms with the fact that God gave us the free-will to turn against him and do bad deeds, but the hypocrisy i mentioned earlier is still strong in my mind. I can't trust the Pope nor any "Progressive Christian"

      The thing I don't like about this quote is it can discourage a believer from looking at the actual evidence and just relying on whatever a church leader says is correct. We know how fallible humans can be. Thus, I think it is important for Christians to look at the evidence, not only because there's plenty of it, but also because it will help defend the faith when you get attacked by a world hell-bent on destroying it.
      For example, if someone says the Bible was corrupt, you can bring forward the fact that there are over 15,000 manuscripts of the New Testament ranging from 2nd century up to modern times, and using them we can reconstruct 99% of the Bible that we see in modern translations. There are only a few small parts where there is some doubt about original authenticity and/or a specific word-choice, but they are of such minute importance that no core doctrinal teaching are compromised. So when you hear someone say, "The Bible is just a translation of a translation of a translation..." you know they're just lying to you and/or they are ignorant of the historical, text evidence we have.

From science, we get that we evolved on this planet, descended from single-cell bacteria/archaea. So we're just one more tweak in a long line of evolutionary tweaks. And that son is going to save you from the wrath of his daddy, no matter what you done, so long as you believe in him. Why? Cos God ended his own life for you, so that he could forgive you.
      That's pure blasphemy against the real God who is far beyond us. And that's something that David apparently can't let go of. So in both cases, there's something strange psychological going on. Brillant way to put it. I've been an agnostic for most of my adult life, despite always being fond of and protective towards Christianity and Christians, respectively. Despite always being happy to be of cultural Catholic and finding Jesus's teachings praiseworthy, as well as recently being fully convinced in God's existence, I'm still agnostic on a lot of the scripture.
      So, questioning religion and having constructive criticism of it I totally understand and don't hold against anyone at all. The hostility is what never made sense to me. Especially when the same things that make atheists hostile to religion could easily be applied to secular ideologies, such as political ones, but which rarely ever induce their ire. That's because its propagandized into them, brainwashed if you will. They're nowhere near as individualistic or open minded as most of them claim, as you so eloquently put it.

    • @MisterEvvvSymphoenix
      @MisterEvvvSymphoenix 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@Kaiser-gt4rr It's a breath of fresh air to read something like this! In the past, I mostly came across people who were either already Christians or completely closed off to God, but that seems to be changing. Does that seem to be the case for you as well? As the TH-camr, Kyle put it in his video, 'How Atheists Lie to Themselves' (you might find something useful in his work), they tend not to take things to their logical conclusion, accepting any argument against God at face value, reserving skepticism for Him without fairly applying it to various other subjects. For instance, there isn't really an argument as to whether Julius Caesar existed. Does that even cross anyone's mind? However, Jesus would be scrutinised right down to arguments of the letter 'J' not existing back then (which would also disqualify Julius Caesar).
      I've heard that one obvious but simultaneously subtle way that social programming enforces this thinking is to make victims of brainwashing feel righteous, in a sense, for irrational, dogmatic behaviour. I mean, who doesn't want to feel better than other people, get to talk down to them and behave in an unscrupulous manner while still getting to be the good guy? It's like having your cake and eating it too. A lot of the 'woke' stuff today is based on social programming techniques rooted in Marxism - an attempt to slowly denature a society and replace it with something horrible. For instance, in movies, they won't necessarily make it obvious they're targeting Christians so much as they'll have characters who dress like Christians, and talk like Christians, but then they do things that cast them in a negative light. People, especially kids, start associating negativity with anyone who has those traits. In more obvious cases, the Christians in Hollywood movies are consistently maniacs, fools or ineffective. Men and boys are also targets of this. The idiot dad and joke of a brother are such common tropes, while the female family members are consistently competent, and tired of putting up with the males' shenanigans. Weaponising feminism to fracture family and the fundamental relationship between men and women is a good way of softening up a society to supplant it.
      Anyway, what convinced you of God?
      Although I don't know everything, I find that a lot of scripture makes sense when you dig deeper. For instance, why God wanted the Canaanites wiped out. We Christians often try to water down the strangeness of certain things in The Bible, but that leads to inaccurate interpretations.

    • @Kaiser-gt4rr
      @Kaiser-gt4rr 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @MisterEvvvSymphoenix Thank you for the kinds words. I suppose for me, Christians (whether Protestant, Mormon, Orthodox or Catholic) and to a lesser extent Jews have always been, on average, nicer and happier than most Atheists and Muslims I've met. Now, I've met terrible Christians and Jews and wonderful Atheists and Muslims but the pattern is typically the opposite. So despite being agnostic for most my life, I was raised Catholic and lived in a neighborhood that was once a settlement for German and Irish immigrants as well as African American Protestants that moved north. There were quite a few Jews mixed in as well. It was surrounded by a Protestant countryside settled by English and Scottish colonists.
      So, I have plenty of exposure to both main types of Western Christians as well as Jews. They have a purpose, held accountable to a higher power and rest much easier knowing they're going to a good place when they die. I always envied those with faith because while I don't fear death I certainly fear what happens after it. So they plan long term for when that day comes as opposed to the average atheist I've met who usually is nihilistic and plans for short term pleasure because they think eternal oblivion awaits us upon our passing. Agnostics have been a mixed bag for me, either siding with the majority of atheists in diving into nihilism or side with the Jews and Christians, as I had, despite not totally believing.
      For me it's a matter of always having trouble believing on faith alone. I needed tangible, undeniable proof. That came once when I was escaping some car jackers by driving up a one way street that had been packed with cars just a minute prior when I drove down it. I chalked it up to coincidence at first. However, not too long after, I was slowly becoming an atheist, albeit one of the relatively few that still loved Christiandom and Judaism, and I asked God for a sign. Within a week I discovered by happenstance the phenomenon of near death experiences without ever having to purposefully search it out. Not too long after that i was at a party and I had a friend of a friend I never met before claim she could speak to the dead and tell me things about my grandpa that no outsider should've known. I'm really, really skeptical of mediums but that happened too close to discovering NDEs and asking God for a sign to just he coincidence. Surely, it could be one, but I'm guessing it couldn't be. Too much happened too quick for me to write it off as mere coincidence lest I fall into the common atheist trap that's discussed in this video. Ask and ye shall receive indeed lol.
      I hope that answered your questions. As per your analysis on society and Hollywood depicting Christians I completely agree. They do it to men, boys and people of European descent too. They try to subvert Western culture by delegitimizing it to replace it with their utopia that'll never come. Mortal men can't make perfect systems and you'd think the failures of fascism and Marxism in the 20th century, both officially godless and atheist regimes, would've taught them that already. To subvert the West you must do so biologically by hating on normal sex and gender relations as well as the ethnic groups that made it. You especially must subvert it spiritually, by slamming Christianity in all its forms. It's sick when it's done toanyone, regardless of racial, ethnic or religious background, including us.
      If I may ask, how did you come to faith? Did you always stick with it or did you come back to it? It's been a real pleasure speaking with you about this. I rarely make comment on TH-cam videos but something about this video and your comment propelled me to do so, and for bringing me out of my shell a bit I sincerely thank you.

      No, there's no "rebellion". Some of theists try to paint it as if atheists think God might exist, but "reject" him out of spite or whatever. No, what is rejected is the evidence for such being existing especially if it's as weak as a book like bible that describes God, a being who is supposed to be perfect, as a bloodthirsty, jealous, petty, vengeful, slavery/genocide encouraging character (in other words 100% identical to what the people who lived during that era).
      I'm not entirely convinced God can't exist, but I'm nearly 100% sure it's not a God from any of our earthly religions as we invented them all in a desperate attempt to make sense of our place in this Universe (and gain some control over each other when we saw just how effective this sort of "believe and bad things won't happen to you after death!" tactic really is).
      It could be like a simulation type of deal where some mind created the Universe and doesn't know/give a shit about particular lifeforms that might have arose within it. And while that's more plausible, I still recognise I don't have any particular reason to believe it, it just fills in some sort of psychologically satisfying blank in my mind where the ultimate questions like "how and why did existence came to be at all?" are now supposedly answered when it is in fact possible we are too limited to ever find out the real answer any more than an ant could ever comprehend what e=mc squared even means. And that's okay.

      The KILLER is, Entropy! Entropy is somewhat opposite of evolution and why did this come into the universe if everything’s getting better? Genesis 2:17 says death came into the universe through the first sin!
      First two chapters of the Bible not the 500th chapter or the thousandth chapter; explain what evolutionists have not explained; and no other worldview comes close to the Bible, in explaining it! The first two laws of thermodynamics!

      God already did prove His existence with some spectacular display when He created the world. The proof that God created the world is that we are living in this world that only God could create. All that has been made clearly has intelligent design behind it, so it must have an intelligent designer. Therefore, God is the only explanation. Every single person on earth knows that God exists because of this. Some people just suppress the truth by their unrighteousness, as written in Romans. People are willing to be willfully ignorant of God if it means not feeling guilt and shame for their sin. People hate the light, the knowledge of God, because it exposes their evil deeds, as written in the gospel of John. And when you see the awful things that God deniers do in the name of God supposedly not existing, the loves of hedonisitc debauchery that they live, that really vindicates what John told us.

    From getting into debates and watching comment sections, it is so evident to me that it won’t matter what you say or present to the truly devout atheist they will NOT believe in God, especially the Christian God. They don’t want to believe in Him neither.
    It’s so ironic because atheists would likely proclaim that if a miracle happened right in front of them they would believe, but I can guarantee that some would still come up with some sort of excuse or spin which is beautifully evidenced by this atheist on the Unbelievable podcast. And these are devoutly “evidence based”people we’re talking about. I’ve always felt that. I think atheist may be gravitating toward using “Sky Daddy” because Christians are getting better at explaining why “Flying Spaghetti Monster” does not identify with the Christian God. Flying implies he is not omnipresent, like our God. And spaghetti makes him material, unlike our God. Sky is probably as close as thy will come to saying the heavenly realm, so Sky Daddy is just their way of saying Heavenly Father.

      @johnthecloud 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The Flying Spaghetti Monster was originally conceived in response to the forcing of faith based beliefs being given the same weight as evidence based science in biology classes. There was a very serious reason for it. It wasn't meant to ridicule Christianity, but to show that faith based beliefs belong in religious classes, and science based beliefs belong in science classes. After all, we're not insisting that church groups and religious studies have to give secular and scientific points of view equal weight alongside their doctrines.

    • @johnthecloud
      @johnthecloud 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Science is about what can be explained and what is explicable. God is inexplicable. Intelligent design requires miracles which by their very nature are inexplicable: therefore intelligent design is inexplicable. We cannot use science and reason to explain it. Evolution by natural selection is - however- explicable. You might not accept it, and it doesn't matter whether you do or not. The underlying principle that random mutations give rise to variety which in turn is naturally selected based on the variation most likely to survive to procreate is very simple. It's not inexplicable. Intelligent design is though, and most intelligent design research is not dedicated to explaining a mechanism for intelligent design, it's rather putting all of its efforts into poking holes in the Theory of Natural Selection - usually by pointing to the inevitable holes the fossil record.
      Science is about understanding the explicable. Religion and philosophy are about everything else. There is no room for the inexplicable in a science class - and once the inexplicable becomes explicable it's no longer philosophy and had become science. Intelligent design and God - if they ever did become explicable- would become science. We're not there yet.

    • @the3bairs778

      @@johnthecloud Very well put. I think the FSM was a way to try to make the inexplicable explicable, and by so doing so, dismiss it. But by doing so, FSM becomes a strawman because God remains inexplicable. But saying Sky Daddy appears to give a nod to something that is beyond the natural, whether it belongs in a science classroom or not. I agree that religion does not belong in the science classroom, and if so, which religion? Scientists on the other hand, also try to bring religion into the classroom by way of naturalism or materialism. That is probably the biggest objection that Christians have, not to science, but to scientists who insist that there can be on other way beyond naturalism. Science cannot prove the existence or non-existence of God. But many scientists sure act like it can.

    I agree with your perspective. It's important to acknowledge that atheism is not a monolithic belief system and that different atheists may have varying epistemological models. It's unfair to assume that all atheists share the same beliefs or ideologies. Additionally, many people tend to conflate theism with religion, when in reality, one can believe in a higher power without adhering to any particular religion. This is an important distinction to make when discussing belief systems and worldviews.

    • @hongotedesco8931
      @hongotedesco8931 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      To be even clearer, atheism isn't much of a belief system. It's a statement of non-belief. The simplest definition of atheism is "I don't believe in god(s), because I see no evidence for god(s)". An instantiation of the abstraction "I don't believe in X, because I see no evidence for X".
      It's not a world view, it's not a religion, it's not a philosophy, it doesn't explain anything, etc, etc. Of course, because atheists are people, and they are curious, they will tend to converge on common answers for explaining things like "how did we get here?", "where does morality come from?", etc. But yes, there is plenty of room for divergence here. And of course, science figures prominently, since it is the only known thing to give us objective truths about the universe. Science doesn't explain everything of course, but when it does, it's pretty good at it.

      Apologetics solves the, riddle, science and psychology point to the Bible being true;
      You cannot out psychologize the Bible for God not to throw you into hell for all eternity. In other words, you cannot come up with a good enough excuse here and now, so you will not be able to on judgment day. If you say you did not want to be born, God is going to say you should’ve been born again, that means become a Christian so that’s not gonna work. And there are no other excuses try to think of one. So now you know for the first time in your life, that the Bible is smarter than you and it is a steel trap, smarter than all of mankind, What should you do then? So at least investigate and look to see that these things are true, because right now you just learned the Bible is smarter than you, and you will be accountable for your life on judgment day before God!
      Prophecy, the Bible is 27% prophecy, that’s future history written in advance. God‘s really sticking his neck out to get it cut off if he’s wrong, but he hasn’t been wrong about the thousands of prophecies that were fulfilled, so he’ll be right about the end of the world prophecies as well and you’ll have no excuse on judgment day for not looking for truth!
      Caveat: you cannot look for God in times of chaos says Isaiah 45:19, so you better do it now. In other words,You’ll be too worried about your own survival when chaos hits, than your eternal destiny!
      Statistic probability of 40 writers writing the Bible with zero margin of deviation, proves God wrote the Bible through the 40 writers!
      God authored the Bible!
      DNA does not auto encrypt, the code writer is outside of the code of the 3300000,000,000 lines of computer code in the human genome of our DNA! So who wrote the code to such sophistication?
      1,000,000 seconds is 12 days, 1,000,000,000 seconds is 32 years! That’s the difference between 1 million and 1 billion!
      One person’s DNA could fill the Grand Canyon up to 50 times full of books. John 21:25 “I suppose everything Jesus did, the world wouldn’t have enough room for the books telling of it.“ this verse would be fulfilled!
      Psalm 139:16 “in my members you have written many books“!

      However: The new atheists realizing that they birthed their own religion (the IDPOL movement) was absolutely hilarious. At least the village atheists are good for some entertainment.

    We should be worried about their academic studies. If they reject all evidence that they don't like, we can't be sure they didn't do that in their studies.

      Indeed. Fortunately, the current scientific system in America has a habit of being self-checking for stuff like this. It doesn’t matter when you skip all that and everyone just takes you at your word because you’re a popular atheist speaker however. But peer review and all that is as good of a safeguard as you’ll ever get.

    • @unamusedmule

      @@robbierotten2024 Well we can just peer review what is written down. If they categorically exclude aspects from the beginning we'll never know.

      One can reject reality all one wants, but if one wants to build a bridge, a mobile phone, a software program, engineer a better crop etc. and have it work reliably, they are going to have to adhere to ridged scientific principles. Not prayer. Not invoking the bible or any other magical book.

    • @robbierotten2024
      @robbierotten2024 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@unamusedmule yeah, but if you’re making a claim you need evidence to back it up is the thing. That evidence will be peer reviewed by any scientist. If vital evidence is excluded, there’s probably going to be someone who doesn’t like you/your idea that’s going to be pointing that out. The issue nowadays is that people just don’t care about evidence or academic integrity. People are just willing to ignore things they don’t like. Writing a paper where you ignore evidence to get to your conclusion is sure to get you corrected, whether anyone cares that you’re being dishonest is a different question. The Zeitgheist is an absolute joke of a book among intelligent people and academics, yet is still an extremely popular book that a significant amount of people believe to this day. Often times it’s known that a speaker has put out crappy or dishonest works, it’s just that people don’t care outside of that particular field of study.

    Listening this I understand Isaac Newton's greatness not only in science but also in his understanding of the human mind. In his posthumously-published Observations Upon the Prophecies of Daniel, and the Apocalypse of St. John, Isaac Newton expressed his belief that Bible prophecy would not be understood "until the time of the end", and that even then "none of the wicked shall understand". Listening Peter Atkins in this video, we see Newton's statement confirmed.
