This is one of those “Good thing social media wasn’t around back then” cuz if this happened today, the Chiefs would be facing hell on Twitter, TH-cam, etc
1. Also, in 1982, both Packers/Bears games were wiped out by the strike. Most other divisional matchups had one meeting wiped out. 2. Seahawks in 83 also swept the Raiders. 3. Speaking of 1982, here's a good topic idea: NBC broadcasted Canadian Football League games during the strike weeks .... and flopped big time.
As a Seahawks fan since they became a team, Patera's coaching was exciting to watch 👍 On a side note, being from Florida the Dolphins are absolutely my second favorite team lol
@@OfficialJaguarGator9Nice! Going to watch it now. I do root for the Jags also. As long as they're not playing the Seahawks or Dolphins haha. I really enjoy your channel keep it up!
The Seahawks might have achieved the ultimate rarity here: they opened the preseason at Mile High against the Broncos, and then played them in the wildcard game, meaning they played division rivals to open the preseason, regular season, and postseason. Also Theotis Brown played in this game as a Hawk but would end up a Chief four weeks later. His career was cut short by a heart attack in February 1985.
I can't really blame that scout for that. It's not as if he was an NFL vet at that point. Thank goodness his career wasn't negatively affected by it. The Seahawks would come out of the other side of this just fine anyway.
YEP! Signed a released player from the team that they were playing (I believe it was the Jets) that week. After they not just beat them but DESTROYED them, they released the same player. Suspicious, no?
This was also done by the Cheatriots right before a game and before Spygate. they signed a released player and ALLEGEDLY had him bring copies of his former team's playbook (I believe it was the Jets?) After the game, they released him. kiiiiiiinda suspicious because they destroyed said team.
An individual acting on his own initiative made a useless recording that was confiscated on the field and had no impact on the upcoming game. How is the title of this video not dishonest?
@@OfficialJaguarGator9 Levy was fired after the 1982 season due to a dull offense that only drew 11 000 to a late season home game and the Chiefs brass decided to spice the offense up with John Mackovic.

I think later that season, the Seahawks beat the chiefs 51-48 the second time these teams met.

If Twitter and TH-cam weren't already very toxic in the first place

Cool info - had no idea that they put cfl games on - much appreciated
You should do a video on the Seahawks Jack Paterra trick play offense. They didnt win a lot of games but they were a trip to watch
I did a video a while ago about one of Patera's crazier games against the Saints in 1979: th-cam.com/video/6MEXJd2WtEw/w-d-xo.htmlsi=8bfZsLYnHKAbnKQF

I love that logo!
"The Chiefs Cheated to Beat the Seahawks"
Me: Well, duh!
"In 1983..."
Me: Oh...yeah....right...
No they didn't they did not see why don't you Seahawks fans get a wife your trash organization and a piece of s*** City

Gary Myers said an unknown Jets employee in a similar employment situation to this Chiefs scout was the one who blew the whistle on “Spygate”.
If you're not cheating you're not trying so let him cook🤣 but seriously another informative banger
so did the patriots for about 20 years

11:37 - Jim Zorn passes to Dave Krieg
I remember when Greg Mohns coached the B.C. Lions and quit midseason in 2000. Then they won the Grey Cup after that.
Since this happened to the Seahawks this man should have been banned for life from ALL SPORTS

This is not at all the Scout’s fault. The security guard literally told him that he could be on the field, blame the security guard
Second game should have been 49-48 but Lowery missed an XP .
That's an ugly mid-field logo.
Yeah, that was the old Arrowhead Stadium logo- we used to see it all the time in the 80s in Kansas City
It almost looks like the Atlanta Flames logo before they moved to Calgary in the NHL
Cheating is bad. Richard Basehart is good.
Richard Basehart was also good at complaining about how bad Voyage To The Bottom Of The Sea was.
Was Belichik the head coach?
The Chiefs were just horrible for 16 seasons; 1973 - 1988.

DAMN !!!!!!!!!
You do know that Knox hated Levy?😅
Oh yes, but this wasn’t Levy’s team. This was Mackovic
@@OfficialJaguarGator9 Thank you. TBH, I wondered about that. That's cleared it up.

Not sure that was cheating, so much as it was referee incompetence (plus, I never implied that the Seahawks never cheated to win)
