    Instead of targeting the soldiers themselves, why are we not looking at the military leadership and the toxification of the culture they are perpetuating? If the soldiers are harassing the female stars, why isn't their chain of command brought in? Why are they not implementing proper security protocols and standards? Their leadership needs to be held accountable for safety and security as the stars are performing on military installations. In addition, the personnel who are screening the groups and scheduling the performances need to be fired. Young stars who are not mentally or emotionally stable to perform in front of an all-male audience needs to be weeded out. They should schedule older, more mature groups who can handle the stress and excitement. In addition, increase the budget or schedule fewer performances. Also, why can't they schedule more guy or co-ed groups?

But when at those big concerts, some of the smaller groups who open for the big groups like Red Velvet and Twice, they are the ones who are more at risk than those in Twice or RV. I say this because they are younger and are dealing with a predominantly big group audience that might get rude because they want to see the other group they came for.

    As someone who served in mandatory military service (not in SK) I kind of understand how hyped man can be when we see even a average looking woman after being in our camp for weeks. There is no reason to have physical contact between the performer and the soldiers, there are a shit ton of weird people in the world and being in the army don't help for some and the performer should be protected from them. Underage idols have no place there it's just conceptually disgusting just no.
    About the tissue paper part (imma try keeping this PG) not to justify it and all but we're just pent up both mentally and that way likely for the first time in our life, it's more of a hunger/thirst thing rather than malice towards individuals for most people. I think their management has to do more than enough to protect the performers and prepare them in advance mentally. And for soldiers stop it wait till you go home ffs.

    • @georgiots1409
      @georgiots1409 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +37

      Absolutely. The soldiers shouldn't be anywhere close to being able to touch the idols and underage ones should not be on a military base. The ones who can't control themselves should also be punished appropriately.
      Also, that tissue paper comment was the least surprising part of this video. I once watched a video of Sistar on a military base and I thought, "I'm sure a lot of those guys were looking for some alone time after that." Yes, I admit it's gross but not surprising.

      I know you mean well by this, but the behaviour shown in the video by the soldiers is completely and absolutely disgusting in my humble opinion. I understand the military service can be tough, but they don't look just hyped to see the girls, they look like goddamn hyenas foaming at the mouth for a woman being close to them. And sorry, but no, the way to protect the performers is not to prepare them in advance mentally, it's actually to not perform there. I mean, no offense, but what do you expect them to say, exactly: "be very careful, because instead of the average fan, you're going to perform for some particular horny mf's today". No wonder the girls are so scared. They're just moving meat to them, and I personally find that very creepy. Your mileage may vary.

Like what does that say about you walking around in every day life? Do you get off of women walking around on the streets? Yeah, the setup needs to be changed. The soldiers can be entertained by a variety of talent: comedians, singers, their own talent show (without valuable idols), impressionists, whatever Korea has to offer. There are women who will go on stage and can handle the craziness. Because the men have only been with men, the women will be the highlight of the show. I’m thinking it’s more appropriate with someone like Jessi, though. She’s much more mature and she can handle the flirting and joking back and forth. She likes people looking at her. There should be space, though. No hands on the entertainers.
    The men haven’t seen women in months. This is huge eye candy for them. It can be done by a successful artist as volunteer effort, just for the troops.

      @moni.j Boy groups without feminine members. Baekhyun was harassed in the military they would stand around him and stare when he showered. He has a feminine figure, type ‘Baekhyun hourglass’ in images. He doesn’t even have a visible Adam’s apple. And he’s not the only male idol that dealt with this, just the most outspoken one. I wish curvy men like him were exempt from military service. I’m SO worried for my bias, Kim Sunoo :(

    Not that I disagree with what you are saying but adding to it. I would say a few things 1 since the US had such a big hand in the defense and their help in setting up of the country's democracy they pulled a page out of the US's morale boosting handbook. The USSO used to have a lot of moral boosting events during the major wars. Sending not only female singer and groups but comedians and such to do show for the troops. 2 Since each male idol has to do their mandatory enlistment they already have the built-in bonus of having them there, since girls don't have to do enlistments it mean they would have to seek out companies to send the female artist in for "concerts and event". So those are the two reasons that comes to mind because of what I have seen the male idols do, including musicals and singing events with the military band stuff.

These companies fool you with their bubbly, colorful and light visuals, but behind of it all lies the dark side of this industry...I'm not gonna name names, but we've worked with around 25 Kpop groups, from A-lists to not-so-popular ones, and I personally know 3 female idols who had to sleep with the Casting Director and Music Producer...you'd be surprised as to how normal it is around their circle, it's like an open knowledge to them but they just don't make a big deal about it, if that makes sense...

I mean, it used to be a treat for the soldiers who have been doing service for the country. It's not like they require girl groups to perform for them annually lol. And pretty sure girl groups have no say on that coz it's their management who decides if they would have an appearance or not. And most of the recorded performances are actually from variety shows, so no one's getting harassed or being demanded to perform. This social media era is just full of sensitive people who craves for clout that's why they make a big deal out of the simple things or anything to get attention. Chill out.

    What is singing dan dancing has to do with morale? Is it about working hard as a soldier that you lose your morality? Every job in this world is hard and anyone can lose their morale anytime. The soldiers can just watch their favourite groups at home or anywhere if they have time. They are in military to serve for the country, not to get free ticket to watch people dancing. Seeing how some of them treated the female idols as puppets and doesn’t care about their well-being just shows how backward and twisted their mind is. The worst is most of them are still teenagers. The soldiers just want to fulfill their desire and not for the sake of the idols. The fans did the right thing on protecting Stay C from this madness. As for the soldiers who respect kpop idols by just admiring them as a fan, respect them and not going overboard, I would say they’re the best.

However, that isn't very different from the normal fans in concerts that I've seen--women cheering one men when they lift up their shirt or thrust, fans cheering when blackpink does twerking on their concert stages, etc. I think the over sexualization of Kpop in general is gross and is getting worse with each year. The clothes are skimpier, the dances and lyrics more sexual, and the fans more aggressive about seeing more of it.

    Blame management, not the military. Whenever you have a concert, no matter who it is, where it is, concert goers are not invited to interact with the singer or come on stage. You are basically setting yourself for some sort of incident that way. With that said, the incident with Mina was probably 20 years ago, years before even girls generation debuted. Technically Mina is considered a first generation idol. I think we can let go of the past. With proper security, barriers and deterrence from the military, nothing remotely like this will ever happen again. Even without any of that, nothing remotely like this has happened since.

      @@maarshiexcryxx some do and some don’t. It depends on how they are treated in their camps. If they are treated like shit for two years, they are going to take their anger on someone. I blame the mandatory service process because some of them are not fit to serve. Just switch to voluntary service instead.
