Nagananda must disclose how he is going to change the constitution. But unfortunately, he keeps avoiding that question mumbling rubbish.
DHANUSHKA MDMNagananda never avoided that question and already answered it multiple times. Here is a an explaination on how it is done. Sri Lanka is a democratic (dēmos ‘the people’ + -kratia ‘power, rule’) republic (res ‘entity, concern’ + publicus ‘of the people, public’). That is a country where the supreme power is held by its own people. The supreme power is 3 fold: the judicial power, the executive power and the legislative power. We, people vest this power to our representatives respectively the judiciary(courts), the head of state (executive president) and the legislature(parliament). Supreme court is the only entity which has the sole and exclusive power to interpret the constitution(constitution 125.(1)). Since it is us who vested our judicial power to the Supreme court to interpret the constitution, we
can take back that power and nullify the present constitution and enact
our new constitution.
Still not sure about Nagananda’s economic and security strategy. Will he take action against the US and UK? What’s his overall foreign policy by the way?
