I have not had any issues watching TH-cam, Netflix or any other streaming service through the speaker. There’s no lag whatsoever. The battery life though is only good if I have it playing low or medium volume. I can get through an entire 8 hour shift. But if I’m blasting it at max volume, I get maybe 4 to 4 and a half hours. It’s still a good speaker for the price.
I've had it since last summer, I take it to the beach regularly, battery life is solid, sound is very good! Love it! Had the Flip 4 but it lost connection really frequently so I bought the 5.

I just got one to use at work and I find the battery life to be fine for my purposes nd the volume is insane. I looked at some Bose products, but their reviews were poor and they are a lot more expensive, so I went with this and I like it a lot.
I actually highly recommend to buy two so you can pair them together. It's like having a surround sound stereo. I was happy with one but I wanted another to see how it was with two...not disappointed at all!!!
Why didn’t you mention the fact that there is a mic on the flip 4?? And the fact that partyboost is not compatiable with the older flip 4, charge 4, etc.?? And that it is mono (flip5) instead of stereo (flip 4)?? I would recommend a flip 4 or a wonderboom, and an anker soundcore flare for a cheaper option.
2:57 I was under the impression the partyboost link feature allowed for having stereo sound by linking two of these mono speakers. Hardly a waste of space if that's true.
I don't see it mentioned much in reviews, but the flip 5 will connect in stereo if you have 2, which makes a much clearer sound. It also makes it so you can have the volume a little lower. I bought 2 flip 5s a few months ago and love them.
Owned the Flip 4 new since it came out, used it literally every day as a remote speaker for my laptop at work and simultaneously as a hand-free speaker for my phone. After watching this video and looking at the comparisons to the newer Flip 5 and can't see the logic in "upgrading" to less feature and overall same audio performance.
Warning: DO NOT charge the Flip 5 by using the cigarette lighter socket in your car. I didn't realize that the output voltage from that is about 12V, much higher that the 5V/3A recommended for charging this speaker. I essentially "fried" mine and voided the warranty. This warning is in the manual too, the print of which was too small for me to even notice. Otherwise, it was an excellent speaker while it lasted!
An update: On the off chance that JBL would honor the warranty on my dead Flip 5 (it was only about 4 months old), I spoke to customer support from my online vendor. They told me that charging from a car's cigarette lighter socket shouldn't have had any adverse impact to the unit whatsoever and that it's totally fine to do this. So it's possible I didn't fry mine and that it was just a fluke with the unit. After submitting a warranty request with Harman International, they went ahead and sent me a return label for the old one are sending me a new one. That said, I don't think I would try it again. So, let me amend my previous comment to say "Do it at your own risk!".
I own 2 flip5s because my car is old and I use them as my primary way of listening to music. I can say, I do enjoy the speakers and I do connect the two so its louder and does sound good when I'm working and I put 1on bothsides of the room. My issue is I do feel the audio quality did drop off my first one after about 3 months and when I first used my new one it did sound better. It's not horrible but I did notice it automatically. Still worth the purchases

@@mtejada1 the flip 5 is a mono speaker and it's not compatible with jbl connect +. The flip 4 has an incredibly good sound for this size of speaker, it's for me the best jbl after the xtreme 2 and next to the charge 3
I have both 4 & 5. My 4’s connectivity went bad for some reason. That is the only reason I got the five. I feel like the sound performance is quite similar, and the JBL is definitely better than any of the competitors such as anchor and a few others. The flip four was a great little speaker, and so is the flip five.
My flip 5 was a pretty bad experience it got super loud and had thrilling bass but the vocals were not crisp and no eq so I'm gonna return them for the srs xb23 from sony
@@Ivan-mn3ph I have it to me the flip5 sounds like crap when I heard it from the store and I have the sony xb23 and the sound is really good even at max volume it is very balance sound quality the bass is there the mids are there and even the highs are there I heavily recommend the sony xb23 and the battery life is really good at %50 vol in extra bass mode I got 10 and a half hours before it says pls charge and also you can still play it at high vol when it says pls charge and at %80 people have been saying they are getting 8 to 9 hours. Also another thing about it is that it is ip67 and it is waterproof and floats and the rope thingy on the back is sometimes confusing to use but it is very strong and the build quality is really good.
@@jesusresendiz7832 My wife or myself just pull it up on bluetooth settings on our phone. It connects easy, no troubles. Usually have it playing in our backyard. It puts out good sound, and is loud. Well worth the hundred bucks off Amazon.

I use Jbl speakers and headphones both for work, travel and leasure time, great quality and build 😎 the Flip 5 is great for parties, small gathering or just for listening on your patio with a drink! Most if not all genre's of music sound great with the Flip 5 bt speaker 😉
Just bought a flip 5. I noticed that there is definitely an audiovisual lag; so I went ahead and updated the firmware, and the lag is not noticeable now. Can you check if this fixed it?

I bought the charge 4 waterproof/resistant. The are pretty cool and decent sound but the app disconnects from party mode/ stereo when I connect 2 together so one speaker drops out. The battery lasts a long time. The app itself is primitive and kinda sucks. Some songs do sound better than others and there is no equalizer. I put one at each end of a room and they are pretty good really.
I wish it had Bluetooth 5.0, but it has usb type c. Lost my Sony so got this as a replacement. Really bummed about the youtube audio not syncing.. I will get a cheaper bt5.0 speaker in a bit to compensate.

I have a flip 5 and its awesome. Before that I had a UE megaboom 3 til some azzhole stole it.

Literally bought mine 20 minutes ago, n I have a flip 3, go 2, clip 3, and xtreme too, I love the jbl brand.

Just bought this thing...so far I'm very pleased. Very crisp sound and the little subs pack some punch. Great battery life as well.

guys make sure to update it when you buy it, there are various problems with the starting firmware so use their app to update

My friend is having that issue when he play music or when he uses low frequency mode the speaker disconnects from the phone.
