Thanks for the review! Many +++'s for this unit\company. Negatives may be that they make all the parts for their units which can increases the replacement costs, but on the other hand made in USA is a plus for me. 4.9 rating on this 6590 unit is a major Plus! Thanks Joe. Next you need to think about a lawn mower, that lush grass needs cutting lol..
+m3mikec Thank you for watching. I am still using mine with no issues. I bought a john deere s240 so we are good to go. Maybe I should do a review on that. Thanks again for watching!
Mine looks very similar to this, 9 years old. Says 3100 psi / 2.7 GPM. Does anyone had any clue as to what the soap to water ratio is? I've heard that many generators of this size are 4:1 or 7:1, or even more. I would love to find this out without having to have measured jugs and experiment.
I have the owners manual for a Generac power washer for a model that looks very similar to the one here as well, I bought mine in 2011 (now 2022) and it's still running strong with preforming recommended maintenance and using recommended oils and gas (87 octane, sometimes with 10% ethanol). I found the manual on the Generac website if my notes are not enough. My manual on page 10 talks to cleaning and applying detergent where it notes - Detergent cannot be applied with the high pressure nozzles (Yellow, White, Green, or Red). Only use the Black nozzle with detergent. NEVER use caustic liquid, and use ONLY power washer safe detergents/soaps. Follow all manufacturers instructions. - I did not find a recommended soap to water ratio notes/remarks. Hope this helps, and again if not you can find the manual on their website.
I actually have not taken it in for service yet. I have used it since then and it has not acted up. I think it might have something to do with not being on level ground. Being made in the USA might be a positive note for the customer service side of it. I know generac has a very good reputation when it comes to their generators. I will take it in for service and let you know the outcome. Thanks for watching!
I have one exactly same as your except it's 3000 psi. I too have the problem once in a while the engine die out. I wonder is it because I have low water pressure from my garden hose. But it's still work great. When I started up again
Average Joe. I have the exact same pressure washer as your. Except it's 3000 psi. My machine have the same problem as your it die out once in awhile. I wonder is it because I have low water pressure? Do you think that cause it?
I've never heard of this brand until, I started looking for pressure washers on google. When you called the customer service department, how were they about fixing the couple of issues you found on it during your review??? You said that it comes with a 2 year manufacturing warranty?? How good they about fixing yours issues? How fast? When did Generac company get established? Thank you...
That's true....they got me to buy one. It seemed to be superior to the others in the price range. I still really love using it. It takes care of dirt lickety split!
+Average Joe As a tech I've found their machines to have many proprietary parts. I'm talkin about the generators mostly. And even situations where you can tell the engineers went out of the way to design their own part, rather than use something that's available from the shelf. That's to keep the parts cost up and you have to source it from them. I get a lot of customers during power outages that call for a no start , I get there and find a shot main control board because it took a spike or surge when the power went out. And you are down until I replace that 650$ board on your 2500$ generator. A few times of that and it gets old.
+Nrfa I was looking up something for another subject and found this. Seems like there's a lot of negative reviews. And it's easy to become a dealer if you want. generac.pissedconsumer.com/review-about-generac-generator-from-sugar-grove-illinois-20160213789617.html
Has anyone run bleach through the pump? I am aware that just about any pressure washer manufacturer says not to do that, but I have run Clorox bleach through my Honda GC 160 pressure washer having a COMET pump for the last 6 years and it is still running fine. Thanks for responses to my question!
You have a down-stream chemical injector on your pressure washer. Any cleaning solution is introduced downstream from the pump. No chemical goes through the pump at any time. You DO need to flush the injector with fresh water after you run bleach through it, though, to keep it from corroding prematurely. Simply put the uptake tube into a container jug, pail etc and suck fresh clean water through the injector body.
good review pointing out the details. how did contacting the service turn out? some people on amazon reviews are not too happy about service. I'm thinking about getting one of these but mixed reviews.... thx
The machine works well. I actually have not had that issue since it happened so I never called service. Sorry I could not be of assistance with the customer service but thanks for watching!
I sell and service pressure washers for a living. Generac pressure washers are substandard. This "One wash" nonsense can be reproduced on any gasoline-powered pressure washer by simply manipulating the throttle lever on the engine and raising or lowering the engine's RPMs. That's all thats happening with the one wash ruse. It's not ground-breaking or amazing technology by any stretch. More gimmick than anything else. What they're NOT telling you, though, is that when this is done, not only does the pressure go down, but the VOLUME (gallons per minute) goes down as well. VOLUME IS IMPORTANT! MORE WATER= MORE CLEANING. Pressure is good, volume is just as important (if not more). You can do a better job of lowering your pressure by using an alternate high pressure nozzle with a larger orifice. This way, you can bring the pressure down without sacrificing volume.
Really? I used the neighbor's unit and I just ordered one myself. I thought it performed great. It comes with the power nozzle and the power broom, which I'll probably never use. Of course, it's a fairly new machine. It's the 7122. 3200 PSI/2.7 GPM. I was looking the Pressure Pro's, but god damn; they're expensive She did they say they're better built, the pump is better. Just about everything is better; but you pay for it. When it comes to these things, everyone has a complaint about every brand so it's very confusing which one to get. I just went with the one I knew that worked for me. I've used other ones and they didn't work as well as the Generac. Then again, I"m not an expert. If you were spending $450 or so, what would you get?
Just bought a 6590. What apiece of GARBAGE. I’m being nice. The ring runs for ten minutes and shuts off for absolutely no reason. Should have bought the Simpson with a Honda engine.

Norman Tran It happens but it's very random. I think this model has a low oil sensor. It seems like if it is not on level ground it will do it more.

They have great marketing, I'll say that much.

was there water on the lense just wondering what the shuttering is about

I haven't but they probably make a solution that is safe for pumps that has similar results. That is if it's not safe.

That generac engine has the same design as my Kohler 196cc 6.5 hp on my Simpson pressure washer!

so it's not shutting off once in awhile any more?
+WV591 No. It has not done that since I made the video.
ok TY

Have you had any problem with the pump?
No I have not. the problem I was talking about before has not happened in a long time.
Thanks
how do you get soap through it??
Jeannie Vanderweide There is a small hose that comes with the pressure washer. It hooks up to the pump and you put the other end in the soap.

Horrible review man.
