At least what I can see is 2 of the batteries are flashing orange, so does that mean they are faulty?

I believe that just means that they hit their discharge limit and shut down.

Have you tested a small window unit

Not specifically with this unit, but as long as it has a standard 120 volt plug it will run a window AC unit. The amount of time it runs for will depend upon the watt draw and number of batteries you have.
