TLDR: TDUSC has massive potential but it is failing hard due to its server issues.
As honest as it gets brother, this is shaping up to be another hype train about to fly off the tracks, crash and burn if they don’t resolve the servers/optimization issues real soon. 😢

The world needs more people with your attitude. We can call out faults in the game and call out people for complaining simultaneously.
Pretty sure 99 percent of the complaints are legitimate criticisms, but whatever.
I talked to KT on Twitter and they’ll be fixing the exhaust sounds , so the each exhaust will sound differently and they said they’ll be fixing the anti lag turbo to make it actually sound like a anti lag like in real life :) !! So that’s huge news
Man I hope so. I was so disappointed to see the GT350 sounds the same as the regular Mustang GT.
When you speak with them next, tell them to switch on the daytime running lights on the newer cars that have them equipped thanks.
@@kendaldk5634 yeah so was I which is why I reached out to them , I was extremely bummed out that the anti lag and the different exhaust upgrades didn’t change anything. It’s very minor changes , so it’s nice they are taking my feedback into consideration 😁 can’t wait for that to release . Also to anyone who thinks I’m lying ,I have proof 🫡🔥

The ai is the main issue you got to pray before every race tdu games was never about that competitiveness. I also wish they could add some pedestrians to make the game feel more alive, also updating the textures on the buildings in the city. The best thing about this game is the map and the car sounds

Pedestrians were NOT in TDU games also if pedestrians existed it wouldn't matter bc KT would make them magically "avoid" the car or those NFSU2 startline girls going invisible through cars because of car manufactuers' brand protection.

Yes the lifestyle, rpg and mmo is what makes TDU what it is other wise it has no identity it blends with the other open world games out there like the Crew and Forza Horizon when it shouldn’t it should be separating itself not making a better Forza Horizon game because that’s where it’s at if modern Forza has actual progression that’s what TDUSC is it’s like FH1 and FH2 which isn’t bad it makes it a fun game but it’s underachieving as a TDU game they need to push towards the core TDU elements even if houses are coming later it’s still of other things just can be added in year 1

I don't think anyone noticed that the game doesn't have baked-in lighting, only full-screen global illumination simulating real lighting (in my case, Metro Exodus used global illumination recently, I have no idea what game uses full global illumination after it, Nier Automata definitely used it before), unfortunately everything doesn't match up because of the reflections on the car and the poor quality of the shadows, the reflections are related to the global illumination in the game, the lower the global illumination setting, the lower the resolution of the SSR reflections in the game, in addition, you can see that the game is coming out earlier than it should, in the cars on the hood, in addition to the high quality SSR, there are also low quality cubemaps that reflect elements in the hood that are not actually in front of us (they shouldn't be there at all), they ruin the functioning of the already good looking SSR on the hood, on the other hand, the cars look bad because the cars have SSR reflections that overlap with the cubemaps that are of poor quality (this is because they most likely didn't have time to finish it so to imitate real ones as such reflections were put on the SSR car which in truth mattifies the paint even more and it looks unnatural). Everything will most likely be fixed but with time. As for global illumination, Nier Automata also uses global illumination to imitate ambient lighting, it has very poor textures, poor shadows, there are practically no reflections and on my RTX 4070 Ti Automata in 4K uses 60-70% of the GPU, where the graphics level is what it is, full-screen global illumination itself needs a lot of GPU power, this is the method that best reflects real lighting in computer graphics apart from ray tracing, so I think TDU works quite well and is quite well optimized for the level of graphics it presents, that's why the game works as it does (in my opinion this will be improved over time, you need more powerful hardware and unfortunately PS5 will not even run Nier Automata in 4K at 60 fps due to global illumination, for those who don't know, on PS5 it works in 1600x900), in the latest Forza Motorsport they gave up on global illumination (it was active on trailers), because the game would probably work very poorly on the day of release, Forza Motorsport, Horizon have baked-in lighting (artificial), which is why they work much better and need much less power from the GPU, I hope I shed some light on why this game has such hardware requirements, it can definitely be optimized even more, but for a small studio with a limited budget I think they did quite well, now they need to polish the flaws and the game will look amazing, on PC in maximum detail it often looks stunning, I play it so I know what I'm talking about.
I understand the let-down with the gfx given the honest-to-god awful optimization, but anyone expecting this game to be a graphical powerhouse on a technical level obviously never played the first two games.
This game is perfect for those who blindly support games. They will never fix the game now that they got your money.
Thats this new segment of gamers with little to no standards for themselves and the world around them. We live in the biggest loser age where everyone desperately wants to show how humble they are by being a complete waste of life 😂

Thanks for the heads-up on the performance mode. I've just been in road discovery mode the past few days and just cruising around in my Range Rover chipping away at that, so I haven't yet been in that frame drop situation

For FRIM farming / tasks, I think the gravel roads are better than the highways since there is no traffic there. I tried that on a way to a race today in my 600 PR Range Rover on off-road tires and it felt possible, I only got to FRIM level 3 because of a stupid mistake but combining e-brake drifts in corners with burnouts seems possible. I assume it even gets better when it rains.
Theory crafting : Maybe another way is to goof around with slick tires in a hypercar on that massive golf course in the south, it’s a wide open space and if you can combine drifts with burnouts and perhaps some speed and jumps, I assume you can get that FRIM up. Haven’t tried that yet though.

I'm 20 hours in on level 27. I've yet to race against a real person.

I’m hoping they add more shit to do around the map. Until the casino drops it’s just racing, which is fine, but that ain’t test drive. My honest opinion is it’s a decent open world racing game with great physics and an amazing map, but there’s very limited selection of variety between events and lack of reason to explore. Bring back courier missions and various other odd jobs that give me a reason to explore this world

I've no idea how to explain this but let's say you do a race 5 or 6 times and the xp and credits goes down how long does it take before it goes back to normal I've tried to figure it out 😂
Oh so after you do an event 5 times the Money/XP goes down but it resets every 24 hours so you can go back and do the races you like again 5 times

Even if the core is good, I think the damage for the release today is done. Many will NOT purchase it, simple as that. This game needs a major overhaul in terms of graphics/ performance and " TDU gameplay" things. But even if they get it perfect next year, the game might sell with all DLC for 30- 40 bucks and Nacon/ KT wont survive that. As always, releasing crappy games doesnt pay the bills but devs and publishers dont realize that. And of course it needs an offline mode, when they shut down the servers in two years this game will be lost, even modders cant help then.

Ranked racing worked 1 time for me.
The best way to grind an easy 200k is go to the the tunnel and go between lanes down the wrong side and keep getting frin to 20k and collect over and over takes about 10min

About 60 hrs in myself and just hit lvl 60 last night. Love the game itself (minus it being plagued with server issues)now on the grind to get clan level up lmao

@@gerrythecarenthusiast exploration is the easiest if you haven’t already gotten the XP from it. I used the xp boosts from 50%-90% to get from 40-55 in a day or two. Other than that find a few races you like and circulate them

Definitely buying when it goes on sale. It's sad how I can't even upgrade to the series X and get better quality what we have right now is it and with the p5 pro doesn't help this war we have with devs and whatever console we choose not being able to handle these bigger, nicer games because it seems like they lied and gave us a base model that can only do so much while waiting on profits from the hype then releasing the pro or whatever and its better with ray tracing when we were already told we were getting that with what we have. Can't trust our console devs or game devs like fuck pc really is the only option now. can't wait to try this game eventually either way looks really fun but I hope by then the graphics are better on console.

@huyra8019 Grind is very easy. Do everything the game throws at you and you'll rank up super fast.
I really hope they can implement cross progression in this so when I buy a PC, I can transfer my save from my Series X to the PC and continue there. I doubt they'll do that, but I really hope so. I do not want to start over again.
I too, am a little annoyed with people complaining about pedestrians. Lol. Like, the others don't have them either. Why not complain about those games? Or the traffic argument. I actually think there is plenty of cars. If they add even a little bit more, it'll be hard to even drive gast in this game and it'll annoy me even more.
I would like an ai difficulty setting though. Some races can cause so much anxiety, I have to put the game down for the rest of the day. I've never felt this way in any game. Lol. Those long races make it worse, because any little mess up, and I'm losing my podium position. And I SWEAR, this game loves to spin me 180 degrees on every mess up. Hit a rock? Do a 180. Hit the curb? Spin and do a 180. Lol. I am at full concentration in this game and at times I can't just casually play or relax and win.
Other than the obvious things everyone complains about, the game is fun.

I work 6 days a week and can only average 1 level per day if I am even lucky as I don't have the time.
It's quite annoying as to why you even need to reach level 40+ before buying any of the good cars.
That's how Test Drive has always been. Gotta work for the cars.

@@KingdomTwelve I did have a crash yesterday but haven’t since then, definitely frustrating!! I feel like those came after the recent maintenance that happened, I also agree with the Rain part or wet roads too!! So many cars turn into Fidget spinners 😂

I’ve gotten to lvl 40 and got roads all unlocked but think it’s stuck on 99 so idk I’ve given up on game until fixed it’s a massive not fun grind to lvl up that’s y I won’t do the normal race only time trial as 2500xp isn’t enough
On PC, the last patch almost completely fixed all my disconnect issues. I didn't get 1 dc for almost 17 hours. I had only 1 dc since the patch. So 99% good on PC. I'm enjoying the game now.
Is there re a lot of mission variety? Like.package delivery, driving girls or taking people or such!

The biggest problem with "always online" for me is sometimes my internet is out for days, guess what I can't do when it's out lol... Second biggest thing is after servers are shut down, no game. I still play tdu2 and enjoy it, so I would like to have an offline mode even if it has to be a separate never online account to prevent cheating
They've already addressed an offline mode.
There s a few people talking about how you only get cars so often because Forza and crew just throw cars at you. I never like that I like something to play for imo

I just got the game yday, been loving it since, explored around 40% of the map so far. Only downside is when I click on a task such as the off road tire car , it’s not showing on my map, it needs to be highlighted on the map a lot more clear because Idek where to go

It sounds solid honestly not mind blowing but there's a solid foundation that could be potentially built up into something amazing over time. The problem I guess is will it even get the chance to get there? The always online stuff is a problem of course and makes you wonder about your ability to even play the game and things go belly up and then you hear about the devs going on strike and it's a very grim outlook all things considered. Really doesn't seem like it's gonna get the chance to get that polish to get the ongoing content, quality of life fixes and just on overall support. I hope I'm wrong though.
@devantetoppin7879 Well, the strike was 1 day in support of another studio. But yea, if it flops, it's gonna be hard to get life out of this game.

The only thing I’m MASSIVELY disappointed by is the fact that it looks like a PS3 game on console, even with graphics mode enabled. It’s a real shame, because I think this game can look really great.

TDU you could roll up to a barber shop park get out and walk in, clothing stores , realastate agencies to scope out your new crib, along with just pulling up the driveway getting out and walking in. Been waiting for years for this game and it’s a bad state
After seeing all the bad reviews, I bought the game because I've waited for it for 13 years and decided I'd make my own judgement.
I can't even get past the avatar creation........... shame.
Yuppppp was a problem in the beta and still here during early access and launch.
A maintenance that makes the servers worse is very concerning, this would of all been avoided if they just worked on servers with data from open betas, its like they are killing their own game, so hopefully they can overcome servers that cannot handle player counts that hit only over 2 thousand people at times, fix it and start working on optimization and the game will be incredible

Worst money I've spent on a game , uninstalled today .....slow rep progression after level 32.....no people online, races and the whole racing aspect are boring AF this game will be the next concord but I give it 2 months before the plug is pulled....downloaded asphalt legends unite and horizon chase 2......now I'm actually having fun....noone will be online on launch day lmfao
