ULTIMATE 2019 Toyota RAV4 Comparison (LE, XLE, Adventure, Limited)

  • Here is a detailed look at the 2019 Toyota Rav4 LE, XLE, Adventure, and Limited trims. I don't have the XLE Premium to show you, but I talk about all of the features and differences between each trim while showing you the Rav4 interior, exterior, cargo and more. The LE is a fairly well equipped trim, with a 7'' screen, standard Toyota Safety Sense, & an efficient 2.5L 4 cyl engine. The XLE adds foglights, trim pieces inside, and available options for extra equipment. The XLE premium adds the nice softex seats with more available options. The Adventure Rav4 and Rav4 Limited are the top two grades with the the Adventure being a bit more rugged looking and geared more towards a semi-active and off road lifestyle with the ability to tow up to 2,000 lbs more than the traditional Rav4. The limited is the most luxurious with it's appearance and interior appointments. Let me know what you think of the different trim levels!

    Great and informative video Nolan. I like the Adventurer trim. Pearl White with that black interior with the orange accents please. Gotta have the good options too. 👌Toyota stepped up the game with this RAV4. Overall a good looking SUV, but a little odd from certain angles. Seems like you can option them up to pretty much loaded. Prices seem a bit high though. Review that Adventure trim with the good stuff!

    My biggest complaint is that for some reason leather wrapped steering wheel seems a a super luxury thing, most manufacturers either give it to you on their second lowest trim or their basic like the Mazda cx5. It will be nice to customize that speedometer and not have a 140mph, like I'll ever go that fast. I'll leave it at 80.

    I have a question. On my 18 it has an under hood blanket (insulation) but on the 19 they left it out. I known the benefit of noise reduction but common sense tells me that in really hot climates like the South and Southwest that it would prevent the hood from getting so hot that it would damage the hood paint over time. Am I missing something?

    • @PrimeAutotainment
      @PrimeAutotainment  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I truly don’t know why they left it out and if it will impact the hood paint. I highly doubt it because some other brands and types of vehicles have gone without and I’ve never heard of it being an issue...but not positive. Either way it’s puzzling that they didn’t include the insulation..weird to me. I read your other post too and agree about the other 2.5 engine...it’s rock solid and simple...time will tell with this new “dynamic force” engine. Hopefully it’s long lasting and the 8 speed can be smooth enough

    • @PrimeAutotainment
      @PrimeAutotainment  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Moua Valley it’s hard to compare because I only had a couple hours with the passport, unfortunately. The passport is a lot bigger inside and out so if that’s something you. We’d, definitely go for that. The RAV4 is still plenty spacious for most scenarios though. If I was buying one, it would be the RAV4 though. It’s a lot more efficient, costs less, can still offer lots of features...has a direct and port injected engine versus Honda’s direct injected only engine (bodes well for long term reliability) although the engine in the passport is still a solid engine. Which way are you leaning?

  • @louisstennes4542
    @louisstennes4542 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    I did my research and had a choice between an 18 RAV4 XLE hybrid with a lot of extra equipment like nav system, pwr seats, etc and a 19 RAV4 (hybrid not on sale yet) and I chose the 18 RAV4 hybrid. If you are in the market for a RAV4 and you can find an 18 leftover I would take it, Motor Trend tested seven CUVs and the RAV4 came in 4th. That is not saying much for Toyota and a new vehicle plus it was the most expensive tested at 38 grand. Check out Motor Trend. Things I like about the 18, the tried and true 2.5L engine. Maybe less power but also less complicated and there is no noise pad on the 19. The eight speed is not needed as it will hunt for gears too much. I like the CVT in the hybrid. I hate those screens that stick up from the dash. look cheap and to me it interferes with a clean view, also the outside mirrors just stuck on the fenders. I like where I set my own parking brake and also like the 18 shifter. I could go on but after looking at the 18 and 19 I am happy I chose the 18. The 19 may be the better of the two in styling but to me that is about it. I know a lot of you will disagree with me but the 18 with the tried and true 2.5LVVTI and six speed (my has a cvt) will last a long, long time.

    • @whiterockrunner
      @whiterockrunner 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The one thing all the reviewers agree on one thing is that the 19 is waaaay better than the 18 in all respects! but to each his own. Looks like you made your choice and probably saved thousands. Good job!

      @PrimeAutotainment  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Jrkin lots of dealers have “add ons”...some more than others. It’s crap. I haven’t seen any dealers around here that don’t do that... 😕

    Xenon headlights at what level?

    • @PrimeAutotainment

      It’s actually LED on every trim. I haven’t seen them in person at night to see how well they illuminate though. Fog lights are halogen only

    Why the black wedding ring?

    • @PrimeAutotainment
      @PrimeAutotainment  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s a silicon ring, cuz I’m a little paranoid about degloving lol. I take it off a lot at work and didn’t wanna lose a real one so I just went with silicon for like $10. The colors are funky so I just went with black

    The front end of the adventure looks good, the rest look like trash. I would get the adventure for that one reason.

    Strange that the XLE cost more than the limited. I like that Toyota has tailored the new Rav to meet so many different taste and needs. I'm finding it very hard not to trade my current Limited Rav in for the new one. However, for my money, I would probably option to get the XLE and option for the power driver seat. The only thing I would miss is the Memory Seat function, but I'd live.

      Do you mean the adventure costing more? I was surprised too. It didn’t even have a leather steering wheel. I’m with you on the XLE and getting power seats. It’s always so hard to decided on trims and options lol

    • @22Kevi
      @22Kevi 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, I must've read that wrong. I'm still on the fence about having leather trim in something that you're kinda gearing towards being "off road" but I guess it would work for ease of cleaning. I also think it's weird to make the seats leather but make the wheel OPTIONAL" WTH? One thing's for sure this gen is very much a pricey one. I think I'll see where we're at in about 3yrs. Lol!

      Yeah I know what you mean! You’re definitely right about the price...it climbs pretty quick! I’m sure it’ll still sell a lot but hopefully there are some discounts
