For what it’s worth, I also play Mass Effect on an i7-7700 with a 2070 Super and get almost the same performance. The i7-7700 is a 4C/8T CPU, so you should be fine with that 10105F.

Price is what makes a GPU worth it. Period. The 4060 for example has been heavily hated. A friend of mine asked me to build him a budget pc. I found a brand new 4060 for 260€ The 4060 is 18% faster than the 3060 12 tv (you can fact check this on techpowerup gpu benchmarks) And the e avg 3060 12 Gb sells for around 280 here. So less money , a nice bump in performance, and access to slightly better RT performance and frame generation. The 3060ti even second hand , couldn’t dint it under 320€ anywhere and buying a more expensive , Second hand product wich will last less and with no warranty, risking not knowing how badly the previous owner took care of it. For gaining A measly 8% more performance and loosing acceso to frame generation made no sense. So the 4069 was a great deal for my friend , because it costed 260€ Had it costed 350€ it would have been utter garbage.
So now nobody's gonna talk Abt 8 gb vram on 6650xt being less then 12gb on 3060?? if this dude was recommending an Nvidia card, then everyone would attack Nvidia for vram, value, ect. That's why I hate AMD fanboys
you want 12gb VRAM for future right? but games in the future will need more GPU 12GB VRAM WILL NOT GIVE YOU MORE FPS JUST THE POWER LIKE THE 6650XT ITS MORE POWERFUL, and if VRAM it's is the problem just set de texture from ultra to high it won't make any visual difference the thing if you're playing on a high resolution go for more VRAM cause fsr or dlss in 1080p looks blurry as fuck on most games
@@brenosouza9005 I get it but that's not the point, I'm trying to say 90% ppl here are AMD fanboys and I'm just saying that if Zach was recommending for example a rtx 4060, then everyone will make fun of rtx card cuz it has only 8gb vram but when an AMD card has 8gb vram, ppl are just defending AMD (here).
I just upgraded from an RTX 3060 12GB, and i can honestly say it was a brilliant card. It was able to handle 1080p60 gameplay with max settings in most games I threw at it. My main query is: Why not recommend the 4060 for people wanting NVIDIA cards? The price for brand new ones isn't that much more and it has better DLSS support in modern titles.
@itsdistinctly Same I'm also getting the 4060 for 1080p gaming instead of 3060 12gb as of now there is no problem with stuttering game crash or low frame time graph with 8gb vram even on ultra settings
@itsdistinctly if the 4060 is the same price as the 3060 go for it, just a shame that the 4060 has a very small improvement over the 3060 despite it being next gen
@itsdistinctly 4060 regular is obviously the better choice, but people generally hate 40 series due to their lackluster performance improvement. For example the 4060 ti was very hated due to it still having 8 gb of vram and slower memory speeds than the 3060 ti, while also costing $400, and was literally as little as 5% faster than the 3060 ti in some instances. So many people have decided to skip this generation entirely
The GTX series, RTX 2000 series, and some of the earlier RTX 3000 series are 1080p GPUs. The 3060 and above can play most AAA titles at least 60fps as well as with ray tracing. Linus made a whole video explaining how even for competitive gamers you don't need more than 120fps because the bottleneck in the gameplay is the human just because you can't react fast enough, but I love the videos man, keep it up!
Its sad to say at the beginning of 2024 that drivers are still an issue with AMD video cards. Yes.. they've gotten better...But.. They still have little nuisance problems that I hardly ever see with Nvidia drivers.. I don't care if you judge me...Just be honest about the user experience.
I have never had issues, infact i had more issues with my old 2070, the majority of the time when i see those posts the issue is something simple such as forgetting/not knowing at all to DDU the old drivers before installing the new ones (especially now that the general recomendation at most price points is AMD because Nvidia really is not competitive in the value game)
I bought the 3060 12GB last August brand new for 200€. Was lucky enought to get it while on sale. Very satisfied with it's performance. Would have bought an 6600XT if I could, but they were sold out already :(
I bought a 3060 back when FSR was trash, because dlss was such a boost in performance but now I'm planning to flip it and buy a used 6700xt or 6800. Now that FSR 3 exists and FSR is actually close to DLSS there is no reason to buy Nvidia
@@kevinfernandez6532 yes but NVIDIA has a premium price tag. The 6700XT performs as well as the 3070, as long as you are not using RT, but the 3070 is more expensive and only has 8GB of VRAM causing problems with next-gen games. But when I bought my 3060 12G it was a better buy than the 6600XT because DLSS looked amazing and FSR reduced quality too much. This caused the 3060 to perform better when you were comparing 6600XT native res vs 3060 DLSS quality. Couple that with features like RTX voice or better ray tracing and the purchase was obvios. But right now most people do not care about RT and AMD has their own voice filter

@@B_Man3 That 1660ti is way overpriced, for around that $200 price you could get the RX 6600, that performs a lot better than the 1660ti, or if you want to spend up to $300, the 6700XT is a very nice GPU for around $300.
I wish the rx6650xt or rx7600 had 12gb, because as a gamer and 3d artist I need the extra vram. I’d say if you are not just a gamer or just really want ray tracing the 3060 is definitely still worth it.

Fun fact: 2 out of 3 GPU companies also are CPU companies (AMD and Intel). The only GPU company that doesn't make CPUs is Nvidia. This means that Nvidia will eventually start making CPUs kinda like Intel started making GPUs.

How times have changed. I started gaming while ATI was still trouncing Nvidia in the early 2000s and AMD just started to own Intel. Then, Intel turned the tables with the Core 2 and Nvidia with the GTX8800. AMD bought ATI and fans had to wait for Ryzen to break out of that slump. I guess that's why TH-camrs and AMD fans wished for Intel and Nvidia to die quickly in this cycle. Can't have them producing their next table turning product lines and start another cycle with them on top.
I'm sad I didn't find you before I bought my 3060, I probably wouldn't regret buying it if I could play with chat RTX with it, but for whatever reason I can't install it. The only game I play that supports RTX or DLSS is Baldur's Gate, so for the most part I'd have been better off with AMD.

Best card for editing hands down still is the Intel.
I had a 3060 12gb card for a good while. Just upgraded to a 4070ti. I absolutely loved the 3060! Ran everything at 1080p high to ultra high settings! If using RT then I recommend Quality settings at medium to high settings. Still a great card!
I feel like the RTX 3060 will be like the new GTX 1060, that 12GB VRAM on the 3060 is appealing ♥️👌

If I had the choice of a 3060 or 6700xt for the same price I’m choosing the 3060 every time because Nvidia almost always has better content creation and 3D modeling/ work performance. I can still play any game I want with the 3060 while if I had the 6700xt i get more gaming performance but I sacrifice in many other areas.
Newegg often has a refurbished 3060 12gb for $200 $210
I have a 3060 12gb and it plays everything I throw at it at 1440p paired with an i9-9900.
Now granted, I don’t play the latest and greatest, but right now I am playing Mass Effect LE 1440p at 100+fps. It does do 4k at 60fps, but windy planets drags it down to 48fps.
Wow good to know. I got the Legendary Edition recently (cheapest on Steam so far) and using this card too (but with weaker 10105F) and playing on 1440p. Haven't got to download this game yet
@@ulfricstormcloak7142 The 3060 12gb is a good card. I don’t buy the FUD. I also want to say I got mine for free. The newest game I play is the Dead Space remake, and it plays it 1440p at a locked 60fps.
For what it’s worth, I also play Mass Effect on an i7-7700 with a 2070 Super and get almost the same performance. The i7-7700 is a 4C/8T CPU, so you should be fine with that 10105F.

They go on these tirades about "muh money" and try to invalidate my purchase without even knowing that I didn't buy the card. I have been incredibly happy with both my 3060 and 2070 Super GPUs.
Price is what makes a GPU worth it.
Period.
The 4060 for example has been heavily hated.
A friend of mine asked me to build him a budget pc.
I found a brand new 4060 for 260€
The 4060 is 18% faster than the 3060 12 tv (you can fact check this on techpowerup gpu benchmarks)
And the e avg 3060 12 Gb sells for around 280 here.
So the 4069 was a great deal for my friend , because it costed 260€
Had it costed 350€ it would have been utter garbage.
I got mine on Amazon for like 200 on sale and it’s great
I'm in the UK and on fb market place and ebay there are 3060s for £120 - £200
So now nobody's gonna talk Abt 8 gb vram on 6650xt being less then 12gb on 3060?? if this dude was recommending an Nvidia card, then everyone would attack Nvidia for vram, value, ect. That's why I hate AMD fanboys
its because its ok for ayymd to release 128 bit bus and 8gb card not novideo cannot
you want 12gb VRAM for future right? but games in the future will need more GPU 12GB VRAM WILL NOT GIVE YOU MORE FPS JUST THE POWER LIKE THE 6650XT ITS MORE POWERFUL, and if VRAM it's is the problem just set de texture from ultra to high it won't make any visual difference the thing if you're playing on a high resolution go for more VRAM cause fsr or dlss in 1080p looks blurry as fuck on most games

Because the price and it has less vram
I bought my asus gtx1060 6gb dual oc in 2019 for 200€ and 3060 is way better why people cry so much about prices
I had a 6600 and no issue ever. The 3070 on the other hand crashes. So people have different experience.

Fsr works on nvidia
I had a 5700xt and it was a fantastic card. Did everything quite well even at 1440p. Sold mine a while back for $150 about a year ago. Upgraded to a 7900xtx

⚠️ WARNING:
Regarding the RTX 3060, it's essential to note the two variants apart from the TI: the newer 8GB version and the older 12GB variant. The 12GB variant notably outperforms the 8GB one. However, as usual, the discussion veers swiftly towards AMD after inquiries about NVIDIA.
I tried buying a used pc component in mercari but the stupid fees, services, and payment processing made the price the same as a new one and it was supposed to just be $100 cheaper than a new one
Thank you for pointing out how good ebay 3060 12gb are. Best value for gaming.

Depends if you can get a deal on it.
I would really advice against the 5700XT now. It simply lacks a lot of modern features adn game compatability could become an issue down the road.
I’m just doing my first pc build in about 20 years & got a 7800 xt for £430 on eBay (only a month old)
I think that’s a decent price
you also forgot to tell about features like DLSS and raytracing which we get with Nvidia RTX
I don't think you'll be using RT on a 3060 unless you're at 1080p using DLSS
Almost no one uses rt. Most try it one time or one day and then turn it off forever. Also on these low/mid end budget cards raytracing slices atleast 50% fps
The curse of needing nvidia because gaming is a secondary to actual work
My mom got me one way back when they released like 3 years ago almost? God, if i knew they were gonna be this cheap nowadays i never would have let her buy it.
Looks interesting, I like it is compatible with ray tracing

It's insane that a 3060 released in like 2021 for 330 and the new price is still around 300. Ngreedia. Rx 6600 launched for 330 as well but its now going for 200.
He is totally right but the price of performance he's telling is for just gaming like if your just getting specifically for gaming. But if your looking a card like 3060 it's better for 3d work or in content creation etc.
Zac why don't you ever do pc builds for productivity e.g graphic design, 3d rendering, architectural work, video editing and such.
I’ve been through 3 AMD cards, and I’ve had unbelievable issues with all of them. I’ve had a flawless time since switching to Nvidia, so I don’t care about getting a better “value” with an AMD card. I’ll pay the extra bucks to avoid the constant driver timeouts and crashes.
Plus Nvidia offers far greater value when it comes to needing a card for workloads like 3D rendering, video-editing, etc.
Fun fact:
2 out of 3 GPU companies also are CPU companies (AMD and Intel).
The only GPU company that doesn't make CPUs is Nvidia.
This means that Nvidia will eventually start making CPUs kinda like Intel started making GPUs.
At this point , I think he is a sales guy for AMD or something because he literally says to buy AMD rather than Nvidia in his every video.
