Batman was shot multiple times, probably stabbed, blown up, electrocuted, beaten, crashed into a bridge head first going full speed, and countless other injuries all within a few nights! Also he has been doing this every night for the past 2 years with little to no rest. Alfred is still healing in the hospital from the Riddler's mail bomb, Wayne Manor needs to be rebuilt. Gotham is a big city and he can't be everywhere, Bruce is still a human being and needs to rest and to be there for Alfred while he recovers. I don't know why people cannot grasp this, lol.
No we can grasp this and personally I didn’t want to see the Batman here but man no one is scared of him it kinda made that dialogue in the beginning of The Batman useless since criminals don’t care whether they face him or not, not even a mention it sucks tbh but still a great show and could see that yeah the Batman was obviously recovering especially because he isn’t Arkham Batman or DCEU Batman he’s a younger Batman
@@GabagoolGang none of what you said is the reason lol it's not real life 😂matt reeves said it just didn't work as he would have taken the attention away from what it was about. Essentially shoehorning
As a huge Batman fan I absolutely would have wanted Batman in this Series. I however know as this is creatively the early part of his Gotham story- I can see him not in every shadow . As he ended Batman he had a lot of work to do yet. A lot yet to learn. This is not the Batman we know he will become but training wheels Batman learning on the job. I can buy maybe he is being Bruce more and helping the community in his way. Not getting everywhere but doing his part as he learns who needs help. Resting up and using his resources in getting his cave and crime fighting materials in order to best be effective against Crime. This story tells us about Penguin . Crime @ the beginning . The battle to get it under some type of control. Again love the World building . Batman 2 will be so good after this.Yes this connects nicely to Batman. Much needed to be info in the legend that is both Oz and Batman’s world.
Sophia and Mr krabs are the only criminals I'm okay with not being afraid of batman cause both of them were in prison so they either not scared of him or they just don't care about him
I believe their is a clause on the WB contract over "Batman" and "Joker," as far as for Television use, they are Feature Film rights only. That is why they are never fully featured on screen on Gotham, Teen Titans, etc. But yes Bruce Wayne can exist. Animation is a whole other arena.
Warner owns DC wholesale, like Disney Owns Marvel. They don’t license rights to the characters at all. That’s like saying “It’s part of Disney’s contract that they can’t put Iron Man in a Disney+ show.” Not quite accurate. Likely more a result of actor availability or Warner intentionally saving characters like Batman and Joker for films as not to dilute their brand value.
I think that the Batman is helping people and recovering physically and mentally. Also, I don't think the Batman really cares about petty crimes, or criminals offing each other; however, setting off a bomb and destroying an intersection is about to change that imo. Off topic: how is Gunn going to top what Reeves has done? I definitely do not want this Batman in a comic book movie, but it might - might - be the best Batman live-action universe. Does he just keep this as the only Batman universe, and just not do any crossovers?
Let's see why Batman isn't mentioned... 1) he got fucked up from getting shot at multiple times 2) fell in the fucking water 3) took adrenaline 4) Alfred got injured in an explosion from one of Riddler's tricks and he is trying to fix it and Wayne Manor. 5) And how the hell is his head still on after the gliding scene?
Some estimates have Gotham city with a population of around 8 million people. He can’t get to every single criminal. Just like regular police can’t and the FBI can’t. Now in episode seven a bomb went off. That to me would attract Batman. But, a squabble about who’s gonna be the leader of a mafia family? No, he would not be involved in that.
How come not one criminal has even mentioned him in any way. That doesn’t make sense. The whole city cant pretend theres no batman or bruce wayne in a batman franchise.
Them not showing the bat-signal once or not even mentioning batman seems like there is nothing to worry about and they have a plan that explains why they don't.
I do wonder if the threat of the Batman had diminished since he wasn’t able to save Gotham from the Riddler. And we see him watching all of these things we are seeing in the Penguin unfold….and feels he needs to assess before he reacts, giving him time to set himself up, learning from his mistakes, etc. His absence in the Penguin sets up his formidable foes, so it is interesting to see where he goes next. This show is a refreshing take on the Penguin and a story well told. Love all the theories as to the Batman’s absence but the show, for me, sets up his glorious return. And I cannot wait.
I think that if the Batman showed up in this series, then it would instantly turn into the Batman show not the Penguin show anymore. That said, I’m a little surprised that Batmans existence is not acknowledged in any way (so far). A glimpse of the bat signal, a mention in the news or something subtle like that wouldn’t take the spotlight away from Oz’s story for me
It almost makes zero sense to not have Bruce/batman show up. Batman was instantly called upon when the mayor was murdered yet the whole falcone family is mysteriously killed and he doesn’t even pay attention :/
I can't be the only one who recognizes the difference in importance between the murder of an elected representative of the people versus the deaths of literal crime family. Case in point: how hard is GCPD working to investigate the Falcone family deaths versus how hard the worked to solve the murders of Gotham elites? Of all the deaths in "The Penguin", nearly every death was a criminal of some kind or a member of a crime family --- no innocents have died. The trash is taking itself out.
I think they will answer why Batman wasn’t around during Penguin in 1st scenes in Bat2. Maybe in hospital recovering or out of town taking a vacation w Alfred. Who knows.
Gotham is the biggest and most horrible city in America. If Batman is not present it simply because other horrible stuff is going on somewhere else in the city. He cant be everywhere. Batman stated that himself in the first five minutes of the movie.
Cool that the bat signal was there at the final episode but I wish his presence was there yk like thugs being scared that there’s a chance of encountering him yk imo would’ve made the show way better imo, anyways I LOVED this show it’s great peak DC
I think it could be any number of things. THe immediate aftermath of the flood likely had him engaging in relief efforts and possibly attending to his own issues like the bat cave and whatever may have been damaged. Stuff like that alone easily could have kept him busy for a couple weeks or so "at least". You also have things like Alfred in the hospital as well as Bruce himself getting kind of banged up at the end of the film. Beyond that, the mob story doesn't really start escalating to the point of anything that might really get his attention until the mid season when Sophia kills the the rest of the Falcone family, and while he might have looked into it, even that is not something that I am entirely sure he would consider worth doing anything major about atm since it's a conflict between criminals and hasn't affected civilians really. The biggest thing that would have gotten Batman's attention literally just happened at the very end of episode 7. And sure, he would probably investigate the explosion. Obviously WE aren't going to see that though because the show isn't about batman, and we aren't going to see any of his perspective on this, as the story's cast will be elsewhere when Bats is presumably checking into things. It doesn't mean he isn't there at all though.
Batman didn’t care much about the mob activity during The Batman that was mostly Catwomans storyline. And he doesn’t work on the outskirts of town where the mob is currently having a war. I doubt he or the gcpd feel the need to step into what’s happening in the surrounding area
Why SHOULD Oz fear Batman? Oz was running the Falcone's Drops operation during "The Batman" movie and Batman never bothered him at all until he mistakenly interpreted The Riddler's "El Rata Alada" clue. Once Batman realizes he fucked up, he leaves Oz alone again. Batman doesn't care about trafficking of Drops in "The Batman" so why should he care about Bliss trafficking in "The Penguin"? And besides, how bad is Bliss anyway? It seems like a party drug and we haven't been shown any ill effects so why should Batman care? The bomb in Crown Point is something else so maybe Batman responds to that to investigate but Sofia and Oz won't be anywhere near that bomb site when he gets there so still no reason for us to see him or for them to worry about him.
he does care about drops remember he interrogates Selina about it when oz slips her the product. but its still unreasonable to expect one man to singlehandedly stop a drug pandemic
With 1 episode left looks like oz will get what he wants which is power only to loose it in the batman 2vas batmans presence will be back forceing oz to get buy on the fky again
