Thats a great tip about confirming the license plate on any taxi! Have been to a few places where I've been warned beforehand about the possible scam. Some places the possible robbery. Can never be too careful! Loving the content Tim!

In 2009 I landed in Hanoi @ 2 am from BKK on a delayed Air France flight. I just followed the locals & took an Airport Limousine bus. I can't remember the price but it was nominal. I think Hanoi airport is 70 km outside Hanoi, so a taxi is very expensive. Only use if you can fill the car. Blad looks to have put on a few pounds weight.
At least in Vietnam they can fix a phone screen.... on the spot. Unlike in my beloved Philippines where they dont have the technology, and I speak from experience!

Hi didnt crash his bike. You can tell right from the get-go bald swerved into him or gave him a little bump. Ben's first words were "why would you do that??" and then bald walking off looking for water and being quiet you knew he knew he fucked up lol

An experienced motorcyclist will do what Tim did. Turn off the engine, and if the down rider can walk to safety, get the down bike off the way from passing traffic. Backpacker is no Rider. If you can ride a motorcycle in the Philippines, like Tim, you can ride anywhere.
Yep you can count on Tim to show the good and the bad. I have had three bike wrecks in my 45 years of bike touring. None in the states. Walked away from all. Korea, Philippines and yes Saigon wow. Best of luck on this one Tim. Watch your six. Prayers for you and the guys.

$27 a night for that hotel seems great. I have stayed in way WAY worse places for 3 times that price. I guess it depends on the local economy.
