I know very well the original and Dimash killed it, with all my respect to Daniel Balavoine, an amazing French singer (who tragically passed away when he was 35). In Dimash repertoire, there are some songs that can only be sung by him: Olimpico, Stranger, Ave Maria (these 3 songs were written for him by the famous Russian-Ukrainian composer Igor Krutoy), and his masterpiece The Story of One Sky... Beyond his insane vocal range and skills, what is the most impressive to me is his ability to convey emotion (and we can see that you feel it;..), because he performs each song as it was THE performance, giving everything, from the bottom of his heart. The song itself is straightforward, it talks about being tethered to a fragile human life. While on the other hand having something stirring within, a connection to something bigger and encompassing. It speaks of metamorphosis and different perspectives, such as a bird's-eye view. So ultimately it's about dichotomy, human ego, and finding some balance hopefully, and if not then at least piece full rest tonight.

The producer put him in as a wild card, thinking he would only stay a couple of weeks. He did not "win" this as only Chinese singers were allowed too, but he did "win" as that was the start of his ascent to stardom, now known all over the world. Dimash first became aware of this song when a young French talent show contestant in 2007, Gregory Lemarchal, age 23, sang it just before dying of cystic fibrosis while awaiting a lung transplant. Lemarchal had to act, dance and sing in the competition with just 25 percent of his lung capacity--and yet he won it! Dimash, kind and good-hearted guy that he is, was inspired by Gregory, and by the song. Then in 2018, Dimash's friend and fellow Kazakh citizen, champion Olympic figure skater Denis Ten, was murdered at the age of 25 attempting to keep a couple of guys from stealing items off of his car. As you can imagine, the song has had a deep emotional impact on Dimash, and he sings it with great passion every single time. All of that being said, this is just the tip of the iceberg. Dimash has created his own genre of music by singing in virtually every genre known to man, worldwide. He mixes opera, pop, jazz, r&b and sometimes even rap in order to create amazing, complex, creative musical pieces and performances that will leave you stunned time and time again.

Love your pure response. A lot of first timers have had the same reactions as you. Our Dimash is soo unique. He has been continuously musically trained since 5 years old and to this day. When he hit puberty he continued to train his upper register as well as his lower register. He has performed many different genres including rap and classical. He also composes too. He is a remarkable human being. He loves his family, his country, his music and his fans which he calls DEARS because we are dear to him. He is a great proponent for peace and for the protection and well being of children everywhere. I am a relatively new DEAR but I have learned that if Dimash removes one of his earbuds he is going to the stratosphere. If he hits his knees he’s going to the stratosphere. If he shakes his mike while singing he’s preparing to go to the stratosphere. You should deep dive him…it’s well worth the journey. Dimash is the best singer in the world. I've been going down the rabbit hole for about a year now! Other songs of his that I can highly recommend are Ogni Pietra (as you like the operatic part of his voice), Sinful Passion, Stranger (he sings this in English), Love is Like a Dream, the story of One Sky, Opera 2, Daybreak (check out the back story 1st!), Across Endless Dimensions, Screaming (music video version, again sung in English0. Loads more but these are the best in my opinion.

But there is something special with this man. He just fills your heart and soul that it is almost scary. You can get enough of him. In so far as you are an opera fan, Ave Maria and Olympico are obvious next ports of call. They are completely different artistically, but both are overtly operatic throughout. In the former, he sticks to soprano; in the latter, he performs both soprano and tenor in juxtaposition with one another to very dramatic effect. His full-on operatic tenor is very impressive. The piece "Opera 2," from "The Singer" (China, TV competition), is a vocal _tour de force_ and very remarkable. Still a youth, he was unbelievably charming in his engagement with the audience, who were positively enraptured with excitement. His most impassioned performance, "Adagio" likewise at The Singer, impacted the audience in an even more extreme way. (Some of them appeared possessed and on the verge of passing out.) There are several other masterpieces, all of which you should make a point of getting to eventually!

Dimash is getting pretty good with English but is still studying it along with Mandarin, which he says is a challenging language to learn. Dimash plays six instruments; the piano, dombra, guitar, xylophone, cello, and drums. He usually performs for more than two hours during his live concerts and treats his audience to an eclectic mix of styles. A good professional vocalist has a range of about 3 octaves. Dimash is from Kazakhstan where they use the Cyrillic alphabet. The transliteration would be Kudaibergen but his country is changing to Latin alphabet, so it is now written Qudaibergen. The Q or K question is a product of current events in Kazakhstan. The upshot it the country is transitioning it's spelling/transliteration style away from a series of colonizer impositions in the past, so Q is Dimash's spelling despite some Russians and other Europeans using the K. Note in some videos his custom ear monitors have a Q on them. Also, sometimes Russian speakers add "-nov" to the end of Qudaibergen, that is not part of the name but is just a suffix to denote certain surnames in Russian And yes Dimash is an international megastar with tens of millions of fans. He's worth about 80 million USD, and he recently completed his Ph.D. in Musicology. His native tongue and ethnicity is Kazakh (a Turkic language), he is fluent in Russian and has been learning English and Mandarin for some time now. He has sung in 15 languages however. He isn't just the best singer alive today -- he's the best singer in centuries. The more of him you see, the more you'll realize. It is vanishingly rare for a talent of this caliber to exist. He likes to say it's 5% natural ability and 95% training since he was a small child.

He is a humble, kind, generous man who loves everyone, his family and his country. Check out the I Am A Singer competition in China, 2017, where he sang SOS as the first competitor, when he was 22. The producer put him in as a wild card, thinking he would only stay a couple of weeks. He did not "win" this as only Chinese singers were allowed too, but he did "win" as that was the start of his ascent to stardom, now known all over the world. He is a really lovely man and us, his fans, called Dears by him, watch him all the time and many of us travel thousands of miles to attend his concerts, which are the best I've ever seen, and I'm pretty old. Dimash first became aware of this song when a young French talent show contestant in 2007, Gregory Lemarchal, age 23, sang it just before dying of cystic fibrosis while awaiting a lung transplant. Lemarchal had to act, dance and sing in the competition with just 25 percent of his lung capacity--and yet he won it! Dimash, kind and good-hearted guy that he is, was inspired by Gregory, and by the song. Then in 2018, Dimash's friend and fellow Kazakh citizen, champion Olympic figure skater Denis Ten, was murdered at the age of 25 attempting to keep a couple of guys from stealing items off of his car. As you can imagine, the song has had a deep emotional impact on Dimash, and he sings it with great passion every single time.
All of that being said, this is just the tip of the iceberg. Dimash has created his own genre of music by singing in virtually every genre known to man, worldwide. He mixes opera, pop, jazz, r&b and sometimes even rap in order to create amazing, complex, creative musical pieces and performances that will leave you stunned time and time again.

Love your pure response. A lot of first timers have had the same reactions as you. Our Dimash is soo unique. He has been continuously musically trained since 5 years old and to this day. When he hit puberty he continued to train his upper register as well as his lower register. He has performed many different genres including rap and classical. He also composes too. He is a remarkable human being. He loves his family, his country, his music and his fans which he calls DEARS because we are dear to him. He is a great proponent for peace and for the protection and well being of children everywhere. I am a relatively new DEAR but I have learned that if Dimash removes one of his earbuds he is going to the stratosphere. If he hits his knees he’s going to the stratosphere. If he shakes his mike while singing he’s preparing to go to the stratosphere. You should deep dive him…it’s well worth the journey. Dimash is the best singer in the world. I've been going down the rabbit hole for about a year now! Other songs of his that I can highly recommend are Ogni Pietra (as you like the operatic part of his voice), Sinful Passion, Stranger (he sings this in English), Love is Like a Dream, the story of One Sky, Opera 2, Daybreak (check out the back story 1st!), Across Endless Dimensions, Screaming (music video version, again sung in English0. Loads more but these are the best in my opinion.

But there is something special with this man. He just fills your heart and soul that it is almost scary. You can get enough of him. In so far as you are an opera fan, Ave Maria and Olympico are obvious next ports of call.
They are completely different artistically, but both are overtly operatic throughout.
In the former, he sticks to soprano; in the latter, he performs both soprano and tenor in juxtaposition with one another to very dramatic effect. His full-on operatic tenor is very impressive.
The piece "Opera 2," from "The Singer" (China, TV competition), is a vocal _tour de force_ and very remarkable. Still a youth, he was unbelievably charming in his engagement with the audience, who were positively enraptured with excitement.
His most impassioned performance, "Adagio" likewise at The Singer, impacted the audience in an even more extreme way. (Some of them appeared possessed and on the verge of passing out.)
There are several other masterpieces, all of which you should make a point of getting to eventually!
Dimash performs here at the 2018 International Festival of Arts “Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk,” generally known simply as “Slavic Bazaar.” It is an annual festival held in Vitebsk, Belarus, sponsored by the Belarusian Government since 1992. Its main program promotes Slavic music, and the majority of participants are artists from the former Soviet Union and other Eastern Bloc countries. The song “SOS (d'un Terrien en détresse)” is originally from a French-Canadian musical called ‘Starmania’ from the 1970s and is considered one of the most difficult French songs to perform.
You have barely even begun to scratch the surface of Dimash's talent and ability. He has continued to hone his skills and to fine-tune and perfect his already unbelievable abilities even more. There does not seem to be a limit to what he can achieve vocally. I am excited to follow his journey. Dimash will possibly go down in history as the greatest vocal talent known to man. I cannot think of anyone, past or present, capable of doing what Dimash is capable of. I am still waiting on someone to name a single individual even remotely close to Dimash's mastery.
He has performed songs in 15 languages; Kazakh, Russian, English, Mandarin Chinese, Italian, French, Spanish, German, Serbian, Turkish, Sicilian, Ukrainian, Kyrgyz, Arabic, and Japanese. Besides his native Kazakh tongue, he speaks fluent Russian as it is still an official language in most former Soviet Republics. Dimash is getting pretty good with English but is still studying it along with Mandarin, which he says is a challenging language to learn. Dimash plays six instruments; the piano, dombra, guitar, xylophone, cello, and drums. He usually performs for more than two hours during his live concerts and treats his audience to an eclectic mix of styles.
A good professional vocalist has a range of about 3 octaves. According to some analysts, Diamsh's range is over 7 octaves (A1-D8), spanning across all four registers. He has continued to hone his skills and to fine-tune and perfect his already unbelievable abilities even more. There does not seem to be a limit to what he can achieve vocally. Dimash may go down in history as the most extraordinary vocal talent known to man. I cannot think of anyone, past or present, capable of doing what Dimash is capable of. His songs, "Fly Away," "Stranger," and "Ave Maria," debuted live at New Wave 2021, and the latter two are on a whole new level. Dimash performs an alternate version of "Stranger" on the "Shine! His latest release, “The Story of One Sky,” is a 13+ minutes mini movie masterpiece that will lead you on an emotional rollercoaster and leave you spellbound. It is possibly Dimash’s best work today and took three years to complete. It showcases all of Dimash’s vocal skills, spans across all four registers, and covers a wide range of genres and vocal techniques. The music video’s visuals and storyline are so impressive and emotional that it can be overwhelming and quite difficult to focus on the vocals. Avoid any performance from "The World's Best." The show in L.A. was utterly disgraceful. The production team edited and cut all of Dimash's performances down to 2 minutes and cut out his Kazakh song for no reason.

Dimash is from Kazakhstan where they use the Cyrillic alphabet. The transliteration would be Kudaibergen but his country is changing to Latin alphabet, so it is now written Qudaibergen. So Qudaibergen is the right one.

The Q or K question is a product of current events in Kazakhstan. The upshot it the country is transitioning it's spelling/transliteration style away from a series of colonizer impositions in the past, so Q is Dimash's spelling despite some Russians and other Europeans using the K. Note in some videos his custom ear monitors have a Q on them.
Also, sometimes Russian speakers add "-nov" to the end of Qudaibergen, that is not part of the name but is just a suffix to denote certain surnames in Russian
And yes Dimash is an international megastar with tens of millions of fans. He's worth about 80 million USD, and he recently completed his Ph.D. in Musicology. His native tongue and ethnicity is Kazakh (a Turkic language), he is fluent in Russian and has been learning English and Mandarin for some time now. He has sung in 15 languages however.
He isn't just the best singer alive today -- he's the best singer in centuries. The more of him you see, the more you'll realize. It is vanishingly rare for a talent of this caliber to exist. He likes to say it's 5% natural ability and 95% training since he was a small child.
