Most singers sing what they can, Dimash sings what he wants.
Don't worry, Dimash has many more commercial songs that you can pop on when you want something in the background, also some truly beautiful folk songs in the Kazakh language.
I'd recommend Stranger, Ikanaide, Samaltau and Durdaraz to be going on with, that will give you a good starting point.
If you want something more commercial then Fly Away, Be With Me, Zhalyn, Only You, Screaming (Idol Hits version is the absolute best) Restart My Love, Golden, Give Me Your Love.
He's been intensively musically educated since the age of 5 and was offered a position with the Astana opera but turned it down as he didn't want to get tied to one genre.
He holds a bachelor's degree in vocals, a master's degree in composition and is soon to complete his PhD.
He's also funny, kind, loving and generous and very very humble.

But as much as I think that my cousin is talented, I have to admit that Dimash is on a completely other level. I usually tell reactors to listen to Sinful Passion, Stranger, or Ikanaide next. You will notice that his fan base is from all over the world when reading through your comments, all nationalities, ages, religions etc, the things that might usually separate us are removed and we are unified by Dimash’s music and messages. He is an Ambassador of Peace, his character equals his talent, which speaks volumes, but definitely is a very important part of understanding who Dimash is and, in my opinion, why he impacts his fans (Dears) so deeply. I agree. I've been listening to Dimash for 6 years, and I give him my full attention when he's singing. He has sung in close to 20 languages so far. I'm most impressed when he sings Chinese and Japanese, because I can't imagine how hard that is for someone whose native tongues are Kazakh and Russian. He's doing more and more English songs, too. Check out "Stranger." By the way, the song was in French and at the point you said he sounded like a bird, the lyrics were that he wished he could be like a bird and look at the world from up above. Of course, that was the genius of the composer, who made this song very difficult for most people to sing.

    • @TheWordSmith365
      @TheWordSmith365  ปีที่แล้ว +13

Wow, 6 years of listening to Dimash is quite an achievement! It's really amazing how he can sing in so many languages, including those that are not his native tongue. And it's great to hear that he's doing more English songs too.
Thank you for clarifying the lyrics of the French song. The composer truly is a genius for creating such a challenging piece, and Dimash did an amazing job of performing it. I can't wait to check out "Stranger" in my next reaction video and see him showcase his talent once again. Thank you for your comment and for sharing your love of Dimash's music!

Dimash has a 7 octave range with a whistle register in the 8th octave (D8). He has the ability to move flawlessly throughout all of these registers & can change the dynamics of his voice at the drop of a hat. He has truly mastered his voice & the ‘art of singing’. I look forward to seeing more reactions from you, as you delve into the world of Dimash - truly a one of a kind singer, & an amazing humble human being.

no :) he cannot reach first octave (without subharmonics) so please lets not pretend he has 7 octaves range. octaves 2-6 with extention to 7th octave in whistle register and this one famous note he sang by mistake from 8th octave :) it is still most impressive so lets not add something that is not :)

    • @Swe_Scorpi
      @Swe_Scorpi ปีที่แล้ว +3

I think you’ll find that he does. The D8 is in the 8th Octave whether it was a ‘mistake’ or not & he has shown that he can still hit the note on his knees & with vibrato, so I’m pretty sure he could hit it again. This link was from 2yrs ago & since then he has worked even more on his lower range. Are you a vocal coach? I doubt it!

Welcome to the world of Dimash! Thank you for your genuine reaction and appreciation of Dimash’s insane talent. He’s not only an exceptional vocalist, but also an accomplished musician, and an amazing performer.
Dimash has a vocal range of over 6 octaves, which is quite impressive; but that’s not what defines him. He sounds exquisite at any range, which is incredible in and of itself.
Besides, his voice has so many colors and tone to it, not mentioning his vocal dynamics. His voice is soaring only to express his intense emotions, whether it’s a cry for help (SOS), a yearning (Samaltau), or to express pain or loss (The Story of One Sky). Dimash, being a composer himself (“Unforgettable Day”- Ұмытылмас күн, The Story of One Sky, El Amor en Ti…), knows how the song he interprets must be delivered. Indeed, what I love about Dimash is that he does not use his vocal abilities to show off, but to serve the song: through his voice, he’s telling us a story.
In short, he’s not only a masterful vocalist - It’s precisely thanks to his mastery that Dimash is able to freely dive, and tap, into his emotions; but he’s also a great storyteller. What I love about him as well is the way he immerses himself in the songs he sings.
As you’ve noticed, Dimash is indeed classically trained - he even declined a position as an opera singer when he was only 22, and has absolute pitch (a rare cognitive trait by the way) which was discovered when he was only 5 years old.
I put some links below of great songs to react to. I’m sure other Dears (aka Dimash fans) will suggest many more! Take your time, no rush, and enjoy your musical journey into discovering this amazing Independent Artist from Kazakhstan!

Since it’s recorded as is, no post production here: Dimash’s live singing is flawless. I was lucky enough to have attended his solo concert in NY back in 2019: I became a Dear for life then!
    “Ikanaide” (in Japanese. Cover): th-cam.com/video/8mM-bp5PB34/w-d-xo.html
STRANGER (New Wave / Новая Волна 2021), his original song, composed by Igor Krutoy, a Russian-Ukrainian composer, specifically for Dimash: th-cam.com/video/lFsB5HVnmSA/w-d-xo.html
(whenever you see Igor Krutoy accompanying him on the piano during a live performance, it means that he composed the song for Dimash)
    AVE MARIA | New Wave 2021 th-cam.com/video/mLG8g2ooFSA/w-d-xo.html
(not the Schubert’s version but Igor Krutoy’s, the composer who accompanies Dimash at the piano in the video).
Note: Please check out (in your downtime or with us) this short video of his vocal practice session (link: th-cam.com/video/RX_4TD5U5t8/w-d-xo.html); and you’ll understand why he’s the king of vocal dynamics: his mastery of the crescendo and diminuendo is incredible, and he was only 22 in that video. Fast forward a few years time and you have Dimash doing the exact same thing at the end of Ave Maria.

Durdaraz, Almaty Concert (traditional Kazakh song with a rock vibe) th-cam.com/video/LLtvuGKY1OY/w-d-xo.html
“The Story of One Sky” (Dimash composed the music, his latest masterpiece) is a heartfelt plea for peace and unity: although we are divided into different countries, races and faiths, we all share the same sky. th-cam.com/video/1Psjws97FoA/w-d-xo.html

Great reaction! It’s obvious you know music and have had some training yourself. Welcome to the world of Dimash. He will continue to surprise and astound you. He sings in many genres and languages and is a composer and multi-instrumentalist. Fair warning: you have entered a very deep rabbit hole with Dimash! Looking forward to more reactions. Suggest you react to Stranger, Love Is Like a Dream (in Russian, so enable subtitles), Ave Maria, Ikanaide (in Japanese). For more poppy songs, listen to Screaming (Idol hits version), Be With Me (MV) and Fly Away.

For pure vocalisations listen to Ave Maria and Diva Dance, your mind really will be blown! I grew up listening to Queen, and I used to think Freddie Mercury was hands down the greatest singer ever. I mean, who could even come close, right? Then, I heard about this Asian dude supposedly being the best singer in the world, and I couldn't help but laugh and dismiss it. It wasn't until the pandemic hit that I finally gave his music a shot, and oh boy, I was in for a shock! I spent the whole day and night binge-listening to almost all his songs , and by the end of it, I was totally sold on him being the best and most versatile vocalist my ears had ever come across. You're gonna feel the same way after about 5 songs, especially"Stranger," "Ave Maria," "El amor en ti," and "Olimpico" - those really showcase his mind-blowing vocal range. I loved your reaction, and I subscribed just to see you admit he's the best in the world 😄.

Dimash is a once-in-a-lifetime artist who continually works on his voice and works with his teachers. He doesn't take his voice and talent for granted, and is so humble and thankful to his parents, his teachers, his fans (Dears) and God for his voice and the life he had because of it. I don't know if you know that Dimash had a, reported 7.2 octave range, sings in 12-14 languages, is a multi-instrumentalist and a phenomenal composer.
I loved your reaction and look forward to seeing more from you. Please look for Stranger (English), Ave Maria (not the one you're thinking of!) and, Olimpico (Italian) to start with. Dimash, sings all genres of music from Opera to pop, rock, folk, classical and raps too in a couple of his songs! I guarantee you will be shocked at every thing you hear from this amazing artist. Well, Carl, welcome to the worldwide community of ❤Dears, a name given by Dimash to his fans. As mind blowing as this performance was, it is only the tip of the iceberg of Dimash’s talent. Vocal range? He can sing way lower and way higher than this. His highest recorded tone so far is a D8, which he accidentally produced at the Gakku music festival while singing Unforgettable Day (which, incidentally, he composed at age 17) a song which he never performs the same way. Singing styles? He loves mixing them within a song, applying them on the lyrics as a painter would applying different colors from his palette. But he also sings sometimes a song in a single style, for example, Olympico (which he premiered at the 2nd European Games opening ceremony), or Ti Amo Cosi (as a trio) in classical style, or Weekend (his latest release) in a DJ remix style (sorry, I’m not familiar with the term for this type of modern dance music), and everything in between, including ethnic. His early music was mainly covers, but now it’s mostly original songs. Since you like Freddy Mercury, please check out Dimash’s cover of Show Must Go On at Singer 2017 (note this was his first ever English song, at a time when he could only speak five words in English), and his Queen Medley with the Super Vocal Boys in 2019. For great vocal acrobatics, try: Sinful Passion. For great range, Across Endless Dimensions, Stranger, Love Is like a Dream. His music videos are works of art in themselves: The Love of Tired Swans; Know; Akkuym; Golden; Be with Me; and the epitome of them all: The Story of One Sky. Also, you’ll want to check out El Amor en Ti, which he composed, and had the lyrics written in Spanish, when his mushrooming number of Spanish-speaking Dears asked him for a song in Spanish. That’s one aspect of his generous, humble, and loving character. He didn’t just pick a folk song or a pop song. He went and composed this amazing masterpiece!
Hold on to your hat on this roller coaster ride!

This was the song that introduced me to Dimash. I was instantly impressed and instantly hooked to Dimash. For good reason. He is the only artist/singer that gives me goosebumps and chills each time I hear him. I have been brought up listening to classical music like Mozart and Bethoven and learned to play piano at a young age, and started in my teen years listening to Beatles, Billy Joel, MJ, Madona, Air Supply and countless others. Pop music hit the chart top comes and goes, but none of them made me "feel" the way Dimash's music made me feel. His music goes deep into my heart and soul. I became instant Dear and have to - MUST, listen to him every single day. Thanks, Carl. Love and respect for Dimash.

    Let me help:
Dimash 2023-Vocal range: Growls (vocal fry): G0-G1
    Vocal Fry: G#1 - D2
    Chest voice: E2-C#5
    Mixed voice: D5-C6
    Head voice: C#6 - F#6
    Whistle: E7-D8
    Natural range: E2 - F#6 4.2 octaves
    *Full range: G0 - D8 7.7 octaves
    To put it in context:
He sings lower than bass in Opera. The lowest note is usually C2....and higher longer sustained whistle note.
Total Dimash range is G0-D8. By the way, a D8 is a couple of keys past the end of a piano.
Who is Dimash? Only the singer of the millennia. From Kazakhstan, beginning his singing career at age 5 (he's 29 now), Dimash was accepted into the most distinguished music academy in his country. His range extends from the top of the bass register to the highest notes of the coloratura soprano and whistle register. His first digital music album "ID" went platinum in only 37 seconds after release, and 3x platinum in only one hour, and 5x platinum in only one day on Chinese music platforms In December 2019, he made his US debut in New York at the Barclays Center. Dears (those he calls his fans) traveled from 68 different countries, 43 states & 2 US territories, and was sold out. Now writing his Doctoral thesis for a PhD in Musicology/ Composing, received all his degrees with honors while simultaneously filling arenas and maintaining his performing career, a first! He has a bachelors degree in vocals, a master's degree in composition and is about to complete his PhD in musicology this year.
Dimash sings in 14 languages, plays 7+ musical instruments, is a composer, an amazing vocalist, patriot, philanthropist and, despite his popularity and talent, is a very warm and humble person.
He (Dimash) has begun working with legendary Grammy-winning producer/composer Walter Afanasieff to produce a new song which will be released for principally the US market in the next couple of months. Afanasieff described Dimash as “the greatest voice I have ever heard,” after their first studio session and contract meeting on 22 November 2019. That is high praise when you consider the list of artists for which he has composed and produced, including Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, Richard Marx, Whitney Houston, Thalía, Lionel Richie, Luther Vandross, George Benson, Destiny's Child, Kenny G, Michael Bolton, Toni Braxton, Andrea Bocelli, Johnny Mathis, Kenny Loggins, Barbra Streisand, Christina Aguilera, Ricky Martin, Leona Lewis and Idina Menzel.

Just discovered you.🤘❤️‍🔥🤘There are many Dimash versions of SOS and all are different. I prefer the SOS /2021 because there is a stronger rock vibe, plus more emphasis on his lower regester and instruments. This was a great first reaction to our beloved Dimash.
He actually does have a few songs that can be played as background music. I use NeverLand(Tekkno-Pop) and Go Go Power Rangers (Pop/Rock) and Durdaraz/Almaty (Rock/Folk) on my exercise playlist. Perfect for digging, rowing or raking leaves.
His song Weekend is just a simple Club dance tune. Catchy but very ordinary, at least for Dimash.
Shocked and running out of adjectives is perfectly normal. We have all been there.🫤🥺🤣😂🥹
Dimash calls his fans Dears because we are Dear to him like family. He believes that a singer/performer is nothing without fans and/or an audience and therefore treasures us.🤩
Subscribed and looking for more. Thank you💜
    🥰🥰🥰Hugs from a Canadian Dear🌹🦭🇨🇦

Appropriate reaction - audio is very choppy, tho (on the Dimash vid). And you’re absolutely right - Dimash is NOT background music! For most of us, there is “before Dimash” and “after Dimash.” 😂 If you like Queen, you might check out Dimash & the Super Vocal Boys doing a Queen medley.

    Welcome to Dimash world!
You haven’t seen anything jet!!! This is about 1/3 or so what he can do! It souds like you got "Dimashified"! Loss of words is commen and also just thinking How !!
Please react to the same songs but from different places and times because he changes them a bit every time please also watch the hole videos through because something might happen just that time…(Like Dimash hitting a D8!!! Yepp higher then the piano can go!!!)
It's so fun for us "Dears" (that’s what Dimash calls his fans because he loves us as a dear family) to see how people react to him.
Some info about Dimash. He is born in May 24 1994. He is from Kazakhstan and has been music schooled sense 5 years old and told the teacher that the piano was out of tune! He sings about 7 octaves or so! No one knows he is still learning. He sings higher than the piano can go! He also writs and compose own songs, plays bunch of instruments including Dombra there own Kazakh instrument that has a sound you can’t believe and onley 2 strings! He also sings in about 14 (Kazakh, Turkish, Usceck, Russian, Ukranian, Serbien, Bulgarian Chinese , Italien, Spamish, French, English, German, Japanese ) languages and speaks 3 so far (Kazakh, Russian and English).
Dimash has an excellent education: he graduated from the College of Music with a degree in Opera Singing, university of arts in the specialty "Estrada and jazz vocals", and on June 18, 2020, he completed a master's degree in Composition. He graduated with a degree in opera from the music school at the University of Aktobe (2014), a degree in pop/jazz from the National Arts University in Nur Sultan (2018), just completed his Master's degree in composition (June 2020) and have started his PhD.
He have done some contests in his life but the one I think got the worlds intension is "The Singer" (Allso called "I am a singer" or "Singer") from China in 2017. The Singer is a program for established Chinese singers to face off against each other invites only in a competition where votes were cast by an audience of 500.
Dimash Qudaibergen was a last-minute inclusion (a 'dark horse'). But his performance of 'SOS D'un Terrien En Detresse' electrified the audience, his fellow competitors and the viewers who numbered in the billions (this program was one of the most-watched in China and outside).
They also got him the nickname "Imported little brother" the day after the show. They also had to get bodyguard for Dimash do to the famous over night both in China and also the world. Dimash wasn’t really prepared for that. He had come to China at 22 years young man by him self and didn’t know the language. They hade contracted him for 2 shows because they didn’t think he cold go further than that. He didn’t think they would like him. So he was nervous this performers that he had also to start the show with. But they hade to change that do to his famous over night.
Dimash got many new friends from this show and he said at some point he learned a lot from it to.
Here are the You Tube videos of Dimash's performances in The Singer 2017 and also The Singer 2018 he was invited to perform at the gala show they did. Also from 2019 there "The Super Vocal boys" invited him to sing with them!
Episode 1 : 'SOS D'un Terrien En Detresse' (A Soul's Plea For Help) In French.
    th-cam.com/video/cCwiZdFz63w/w-d-xo.html
Episode 2 :'Opera 2' in Russian!
The best moment in this show was just after Dimash started thanking everyone and saw his father there. He didn’t know he was there. Just after they got out of that room Dimash turns to his father and asks if he did good! When Dimash was gonna go in to the other contestants he again turned to his father and asked him if he done good! That’s the kind of man he is humble, loving and respectful.
    th-cam.com/video/hPjEUoPg-ag/w-d-xo.html
Episode 3 : 'The Show Must Go On' In English You have never heard it like this!
    th-cam.com/video/2P8QywsRRzQ/w-d-xo.html
Episode 4 : 'Late Autumn' In Mandarin!!! He learned this song in 1 week in mandarin to thank the warm welcome from the Chinese people. Gloria Wu's channel has back-story on what the song is about.
    th-cam.com/video/E_KJsN3g7eA/w-d-xo.html
Episode 5 : 'Uptown Funk' In English. Not his best but I love this song and his attempt on a fast song with lots of energy.
    th-cam.com/video/DBW_JvjyfXs/w-d-xo.html
Episode 6 : 'Adagio' In English and also playing piano
    th-cam.com/video/c0RAQyy08Os/w-d-xo.html
Episode 7 : 'Daididau' In Kazakh and some parts in Chinese. He also plays Dumbra.
    th-cam.com/video/Ufj0E6UxKa0/w-d-xo.html
Episode 8 : 'Daybreak' (Tiān liàng le- Han Hong original artist and writing it!) In Chinese! This is the one reaction I think you should do from 2 different versions do to following...
Gloria Wu's channel has the back-story about the song that is so sad and from a life story about a boy losing his parents in an awful way. Also you get to hear how Dimash sounds like then loosing his voice the day of the show!!! When he went on he didn’t know if he could sing. Looking close at the other contestants they where so worried about him. He lost his voice again after. Li Jian another contestant bought him a very very expensive Chinese medication for him so he could get better soon!
    th-cam.com/video/uXGF7vgEYKk/w-d-xo.html
The other one is from his own show in Bastau the same year. Hear you can see what he can do with the song. Fun to know which you like more.
    th-cam.com/video/2kZTJjLoD64/w-d-xo.html
Episode 9 : 'All by Myself' In English and you haven’t heard it like this! Wait to the end for some extra fun!
    th-cam.com/video/Xo1-rtPiT2s/w-d-xo.html
Episode 10 : 'Unforgettable Day' In Kazakh and I think some translation in Chinese to. If I remember correct he wrote the music to this one when he was 19 years old and lyrics by Oral-kosai Baisengir, who was a poet/lyricist father of a friend of Dimash. Also in this show another contestant "Terry Lin" that was about 51 years young here he considered Dimash a dear friend at this point. But Dimash started telling them al he was his father around episode 9 I think!! That is a big respect and love from his part of the world to call him! Terry was gladly accepting it. They are still that close and also invites each other to there concerts and sometimes singing this song in duet to. They sang it in Jackie Chang movie festival in 2019 and Jackie was choked in how good they were. Terry was known as an alien before Dimash and they have similar vocals to.
    th-cam.com/video/WAx2lTSB1PI/w-d-xo.html
From the concert in GAKKU you will be stund!! He sings it a bit different to say the least!!! Would be fun see what you think of that one too.
Dimash Qudaibergen - Unforgettible day GAKKU
    th-cam.com/video/u52XDilf628/w-d-xo.html
Episode 11 : (did not participate) He was already a finalist.
Episode 12 : 'Confessa & The Diva Dance Confessa in Mandarin/Italian and the Diva dance come from the movie 5th element!!! If you haven’t heard of that one it’s done in a computer because it was too hard for a human to sing!! Well not now when we have Dimash!
    th-cam.com/video/iZYGi368xpM/w-d-xo.html
Later in his own shows he sings it a bit different to. I think one is from the Bastau concert. His consorts are about 2, 5-3 hours long and I think he did this song towards the end of it.
DIVA DANCE - Dimash Kudaibergen ( The world best singer ) From Bastau
    th-cam.com/video/o5zMupUOgQo/w-d-xo.html
Episode 13 : 'Tribute to MJ' several songs in English and also playing Drums and a singing partner to also some children that sings a bit.
    th-cam.com/video/kTQJ-c_Za7s/w-d-xo.html
He didn’t win the competion they say its because he wasn’t Chinese. But I don’t know if that’s right or not! They change the rules next year. But he got the most out of it and was most known after this. Got lots of awards and other things to. So he won the audience and the Chinese people.
Episode 14 Gala for raising money to the environment: 'Give Me Love' In Kazakh.
    th-cam.com/video/3A1Tz48S5xE/w-d-xo.html
The singer 2018 gala "Hello"- Lionel Richie Wait to the end to hear something fun and different! The sybyzgy is a Kazakh sideblown flute traditionally played by shepherds and horse herders, made from apricot wood or the wood of mountain bushes. Length 600-650 mm. The sybyzgy sound scale is estimated from 4 - 6 holes.

Yes- but those singers up on the heights - most can reach up and hit - and then fall off. they can;t stay up there. Dimash 'Lives' up there, moving effortlessly form straight tone to vibrato and so much more. Those others also can't reach down into bass/ baritone, nor at the rich fullness of every Octave [ 7+ BTW- almost 8 ]- and he's working on further developing his lower register... # Note: this was 2018 - he's improved since then! 😵‍💫
Dimash is in a total league of his own. Vocal specialists are coming out all over now and talking about this Game-Changer, already Legendary Artist. They are saying; we now need to talk about -in all history - the use of the human voice "In The Time Before Dimash" - and Post...
Dimash has trained - daily since the age of 5 - in Classical voice but also EVERY Genre. He was offered a place with his National Opera House, but turned it down in order to explore creatively across all. He plays multiple instruments, sings in over 16 languages and also composes. He will keep surprising you - Strap In! Enjoy your 'Dimashification'. 😂😃

Hello dear, Dimash is Muslim and his real name is (Dinmukhammed) which means Gift from God, and for us it is. He has fans in more than 160 countries, he may not be famous in the West because he doesn't make commercial music and it doesn't matter to the mainstream, but he is extremely loved by us. But he is successful because he is transparent, when he sings he delivers his beautiful soul. Dimash sings many traditional songs from his country that we have learned to love, such as: Samaltau, Daididau, Omir, ... he has a degree in classical music, bel canto, pop, jazz, but he sings rap and covers famous artists like Fredy, react to "Show Must Go On" sings in more than 10 languages, recently completed his doctorate in composition.
His parents are linked to culture, his mother is a soprano and director of music at the country's Conservatory, his father is a music producer and also sings.
React to "Olímpico", music made especially for his voice to open the European Olympics in Minsk in 2018, he does 4 voices, tenor, baritone, soprano, contralto.
    And "El Amor Em Ti".
His most recent success is "The History of a Sky" where he criticizes wars, a harrowing call for peace.
I loved meeting you and have already subscribed. hug from Brazil

Welcome to 6 ft. 3 in. of galaxy class vocalist/musician/writer/composer/actor/model, born May 1994.
What genres does Dimash sing? Yes!
What language does Dimash sing? Yes!
How many octaves does Dimash sing? Yes!
Gives you an idea of this fantastic guy.
Opera 2 is a fun one, but the best one is where he didn't know his dad was in the audience until the surprise at the end.
Many songs he does come from true stories, so try to get the back story first which puts them into a better perspective. Gloria Wu's channel is a good place to look for these.....Autumn Strong, Daybreak, to name a couple.
