    If you are in the area there are some large carp in Gardiners Creek, near the East Malvern RSL, off Winton Rd, East Malvern. There are a couple of sets of rapids on the east side of the cricket grounds that can be productive just above them. The creek widens out near the Dunlop St bridge with slacker water. The creek flows very quickly after heavy rain. cheers

      Hi, thanks for the info. I've seen the water but never fished it... I'll put it on my list.

    Try bread corn and worms or if you can get them peeled yabbie tails

    Can you please try and fish at coburg lake for one of your next videos? There are lots of big carp and eels in there!

      Hi, I never knew about Coburg lake. Thanks for the info. It looks interesting. I'll put it on my list. I'm not sure when I might get there but it looks "fishy" so worth a shot.

    Great work Wayne. I went out to Cherry Lake for the first time Carp fishing here and happy to say I caught 4 for the day. I wish we could have a couple systems/impoundments where we can do catch and release to get them growing to that magic 30+ kg in Europe. I would pay for a day ticket to have that opportunity?

      Thanks Andre. Glad you caught some fish at Cherry Lake. I know what you mean about hooking into some bigger carp on a day ticket water....while some people would disagree I'm sure there would be a few interested anglers. If you get the chance you could make a trip up to the Murray River. A few years back I landed an 11kg carp and my son got one quite a bit bigger than that. Quite a fight on light line.

    Hi
    Can you perchance point me to fishing spots in Melbourne approachable by Public Transport. I am 70+ years and prefer not to drive.
    Many thanks

      Hi, not knowing where you live makes it hard to tell which water is close to you and accessible by public transpor. Having said this, the most central place I can think of is the Melbourne CBD. Most areas have public transport going to the city. The Yarra runs through the city and there are all kinds of estuary fish there.

    Gday, do you think I should bother trying the Wonga Park area of the river? It’s about a 6KM ride from my house and I have burley and bait ready just want to know if it’s worth my time

    • @howtofish5051
      @howtofish5051  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi, I haven't fished Wonga Park for a few years but when I did I hooked some reasonable fish. I got carp but also roach and redfin. So it can be good. I'm not sure what your alternatives are so it might be worth putting in a few hours in the early morning or evening to see what's about.

      @@howtofish5051 oh sweet, thanks for the response by the way. never caught a roach before so it could be one to tick of the list. great video btw👊🏽
