    HI! I'm am a boy in grade six, living in Brisbane, Queensland Australia. Even if I live in a different state, I always learn something in your videos. It's always good to see people catching some outstanding fish! By the way, the drone shots are epic in this video. Always keen to learn in the videos so please keep posting!

      I bet !! Nah fishing around Melbourne is tough especially in winter. Lots of fishing pressure and many of the fish shut down during winter. Wish i was in a regional area right now to access with some awesome waters.

    Thanks for posting that little adventure. I have fished that spot up in the warmies channel many times. There are some absolutely stonking bream in there some days. Been smoked by them enough times. I wonder if the lockdowns will help with making a small difference to fish stocks, with a few less being caught and taken ....

    • @fishingmad
      @fishingmad  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Its a great questions, ive seen some studies and they believe the break on fishing pressure will have little impact, but i think it will still help. Great to hear you have caught some big bream there, I was thinking of just taking my bream spin outfit and flicking some small grubs. Might be worth another venture down there soon.

  • @AusLanderJack
    @AusLanderJack 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Mate, if you are game enough to watch your rod possibly get taken into the water by fresh water fish, go just a little downstream from the papermil/factory up ivanHoe ish way. There are some huge ones there that have no mercy when you are lucky enough to hook one up.
    Apart from carp, there are redfin, eels and idk what all not, lost two rods there which were in rod holders (back in the day). Don't see why anything would have changed over the years. ;)

      @@fishingmad mate, look up the paper recycling factory in Melbourne, it has been a few decades since I was in VIC, but I spent more hours by the rivers than anywhere else. There was a spot just downstream from it, that was flat as flat can be when the water level was low, awesome spot and yabbies galore back then there too. (bait or quick meal, or both). I'll give up some of the best spots to ya to try, but not on these "public" chats, even this was a little bit of a betrayal of the unwritten law about good fishing spots! Cheers.

    • @fishingmad
      @fishingmad  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Jack, some parts of the yarra arent the best for eating fish. There are very high PH levels and at times the EPA have said the water levels are not good for eating. That being said spots closer to the entrance of PPB like many of the spots around Port Melb like pricness pier, lagoon, pier, even the warmies, entrance into PPB means that clean water is constantly going in and out of the system. I hope that helps
