Don't worry if you don't get everything at first. You should watch each video multiple times until you can follow along without the English subtitles and write down any words you are struggling with. There videos are really, really helpful. If I had a small suggestion, for these videos aiming at a more beginner level audience, it might be worth reading each sentence twice. Other than that they are perfect!

you might want to work through a simple textbook first to learn some basic characters. i used this one: archive.org/details/cantoneseforbegi01jianuoft/mode/2up
