There is a random encounter on the road of an Imperial farmer heading to Windhelm wanting to join the Stormcloaks. Similarly, a Dunmer farmer can also be encountered saying he's on his way to Solitude to join the Legion since the Stormcloaks hate his kind

@@syndicatepenguin8420 which is jarring af when you realize youre the only possible non-nord stormcloak. Or the legion ditching most-all other races they had in their ranks (the only mer you find in the legion is the odd legate, no cat & lizard men either)

@@mfspectacular the Legate of Winterhold is a Dunmer too btw. I doubt there’d be much Khajiit in the Legion since their province is with the Dominion. As well as Argonians, they’re not that many in Skyrim excluding the bandit population. To expand on the technical side, stewards and housecarls of Stormcloack-aligned Jarls, several are non-nords and I guess they support whomever put them in power

    • @syndicatepenguin8420
      @syndicatepenguin8420 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

@@maverickcrow6252 Nope, nothing wrong with Stormcloaks there since I've encountered female Stormcloak Commanders in the Battle of Whiterun (Imperial side) plus there are also female Stormcloak fort commanders who are randomly generated (but they only wear the default SC cuirass) so they're all good lol. About the Imperials and views on female soldiers well I don't think it's really the actual lore and is most likely just a mistake that Bethesda overlooked for less work probably. Rikke and a female Dragonborn are the only active-combat Legionaries in vanilla and there are mods out there that adds female Legionnaires. We have Margret from Markarth who is a spy for Tullius but yeah, she ain't in the battlefield. Only Helgen and Imperial controlled Shor's watchtower features female soldiers but they're all dead and I still strongly believe Bethesda simply overlooked the addition females here lmao.

"if a dragon attacks, the companions can handle it.. I think."
Cut to way earlier in the game where they couldn't be bothered to investigate the reports of a dragon attacking the watchtower or help fight it because I'm pretty sure most of them are constantly nursing hangovers until you're put in charge, or are at the very least so full of themselves they become incompetent by proxy.
Or maybe because the pay is garbage and the potential for life lost is too great. The dark brotherhood was holding off on killing Grelod the kind because the child had no money to pay them with, but they're still pissed that you did the job they were likely never going to do in the first place.

@@cherrycola4476 Does that make any sense? They boast about the Companions being in Whiterun, but they play no part in the main storyline against the dragons or the Civil War storyline when the city is attacked.
The most likely reason is just how the quests were created like in a vacuum, again demonstrating how bad the storyline actually is. But the OP suggestion also makes sense, that they were all drunk or selfish and cowardly enough to not do the job.
Lots of the quests are pest control or bullying people by punching them in the face repeatedly. There is a disconnect between the supposed honorable warriors they are described as, and the bunch of thugs that they really are.

@@antiochus87 they say themsleves they didn't care about the war and want to be neutral because they think that haven't any interest.
The first time, if we go from Helgen to riverwood to get to whiterun in the beginning of the game, we see 2 of them (Aela and I don't remember the other one) behind the pelagia farm fighting and killing a giant to protect the farms.
So for the dragon's thing it's like for the warrior guild in other tes, they do it only if they have gold for it. I'm sure Balgruuf won't give them a single septim for the tower attacked by a dragon, but if they was at least one script of another dragon attacking whiterun, Jorvaskr will be in danger so they will fight for free for sure.
And silver hands gang aren't innocent, it's because they steal parts of Wuuthrad (didn't remember how we write it, the weapon of Ysgramor) that they are pissed of them, the case of the werewolve torture is just a plus, considering only the Circle are werewolf, and only Aela (and the one who get killed, the one with only one eye) like to be one as we can listen when we are with her, Vilkas and Farkas about getting Kodlak soul's free of the werewolf curse to get to Sovngard like he wanted.

This is one of the main reasons why Whiterun was the first hold on Ulfric’s list to be retaken by the Stormcloaks. Ulfric would’ve had to confront Balgruuf on the matter eventually, even if he had to do so in person. • @Former_Halo_Fan

Adrienne's father was the steward to the Jarl who sided with the Empire and had to be deposed by the Stormcloaks. Meanwhile, there's no mention of Arcadia losing business - the "do you ever think of returning to Cyrodil?" line and her response to it is dialogue you get regardless of who controls Whiterun. Arcadia is also the only potion seller, so she basically has a monopoly - no way she's losing any business.
The reason why Adrienne loses business is because there are two blacksmiths in town. The other blacksmith, by Adrienne's own admission, has better skills and a better forge, is the Jarl's brother, and is closely connected to one of the most respected factions in Skyrim. Adrienne literally tells people to go order from him instead if she can't meet their demands. In fact, one of the first things you see when you enter Whiterun is Adrienne telling a Battleborn to go order swords from Eorlund Gray-mane, and he refuses because he doesn't want to give a Stormcloak supporter any business, or trust whatever a Stormcloak made.

This facts. You also hear dialogue from unfrocked after winning the civil war that they were gonna go to the thalmor and attack. Even tho they barely win against 1/10th of the empire and the thalmor nearly wiping out the empire right before Skyrim

    • @--Cat--
      @--Cat-- 2 ปีที่แล้ว +34

This isn't true in the slightest. The Thalmor don't want the war to end, they want neither side to win. It's why Elenwyn was at Helgen, she was trying to prolong the war. The Civil War only weakens and distracts both factions, allowing for easier fight for the Thalmor. It's not a 1/10 of the empire. It's not all of it granted, but they did send a few legions and their best general to fight. The Empire at this point isn't even an empire either. It consists of Cyrodil and High rock. That's it. And a unified Skyrim is scarier and more powerful than you think. Hammerfell pushed the Aldmeri Dominion out, by sea non the less. This shows that is actually possible for one county to beat them. On top of that Skyrim is impossible to get to for the Thalmor on a victory, as High rock will also likely secede and the three human countries will probably end up allies. A victory for the Stormcloaks or the Empire is disastrous for the Thalmor.

It would still be really cool to see a Tamriel plunged into that much chaos once the empire inevitably falls.

    • @--Cat--
      @--Cat-- 2 ปีที่แล้ว

@@doronaznible7298 see I can see the infighting but they are 100% going to become allies with Skyrim and hammerfell. You got to realize where High Rock sits geologically it has hammer fell to the south and Skyrim to the east there is nothing else. Being enemies of both those countries basically is signing a death warrant. And if High Rock sides with the Dominion it is one hundred percent a sign for Hammerfell and Skyrim to destroy them. Siding with the empire is just not smart at that point as they have very little power anymore. Siding with either also doesn't mean anything as High Rock can't get *any* aid in either situation. The smartest move would be to secede and ally with it's neighbors, possible even offering the orcs a permanent Orsinium to get them as allies as well.

And now after seeing this (especially Addriana's dialogue), I'm glad that the one and only time I completed the civil war was at the head of a dragon army knocking on Ulfric's bedroom. Maybe I'll do the civil war again and bring an army of peasants this time.

Farengar is by far the most confusing one here. He was a close confidant to Balgruuf (ebony blade quest?!?!) as well as being a mage which the heavily Nord stormcloaks often distrust. Vignar is buddies with the companions who frown on magic, even though this is only represented once in gameplay. So Farengar has... No concerns? Very odd. And he is given the generic Nord dialogue for thanking the dragonborn when after that it's total apathy.

In the ebony blade quest, the kid says Farengar has one of the keys while the Jarl has the other. He does mention that no one would care if Farengr goes missing which hints most hold him in distain and that may not be simply because he is a mage. He doesn't really come across as very pleasant to begin with.

Yeah sure the Thalmor could easily come to war against Skyrim while traveling through hammerfel!!!! redguards hate then. Well Cyrodil?? Through the mountains full of trolls, spiders and goblins? Through Morrowind? It's a wastleland..they'll die without food. The Stormcloaks might be asses but THEY are right!!!! If the Thalmor comes through Cyrodil, they can't navigate the snowy mountains like the Nords do...Nords know their mountains. And chances of empire turning their back on Thalmor are high when they're moving through Cyrodil.

@@jayeezus They aren't right, Ulfric did all this for personal gain; using the guise of Nord Freedoms. Majority of the Nords are racist and ignorant. They don't even know their own history as magic users. The only issue with the Imperials is, Talos is banned. That they can be prosecuted. Even then, that was Ulfric's fault too; it was even said in the game. This forced Elisif to do as the Thalmor said. There are videos, made by those knowing the lore, that prove Balgruuf and Tullius are the only smart and rational leaders in the game

This stuff isn't serious, but it just parallels real world politics and how stupid people are to blindly follow a leader without looking at all the facts. The Dunmer are freaking refugees, can't get them to do anything if they are being threatened on a daily basis and calling them spies. Now his father, he attacked a city. @@jayeezus Well the fact that the Thalmor secretly helps the stormcloacks is all the answer you need.
But I still want to point out your mistakes. If the Thalmor captures Cyrodiil they don't need to climb mountains or take any treacherous path. They just enter Skyrim through Falkreath border. And I doubt Nords alone can defend that border for long and resist the shear power of Aldmeri Dominion. After they enter through falkreath, they backdoor whiterun (the central city) and then Skyrim is as good as an elf country.
Stormcloacks better hope the empire isn't defeated in the second great war, because if they do, neither nords nor redgaurds stand much of a chance.

When they finally managed to pass the borders, the nords will absolutely have already ambush them or Made some tactic to anhiliated them.
Second, the nords forces united are much stronger that the destroyed legions of the empire. Look what only a garrison of Nords did to the majority of the thalmor army in red ring, what do you think that a true army of Nords and with military plans to defend their land would do? The Empire is no better than all the nords united.
