I ordered it from banggood, then after I received it, I explained to them the voltage issue that I also found on mine, and requested them to give me a solution. After some back and forth, I'm getting an F7 Zeus 20x20 fc with barometer from them, so at the end, for the same price you can have this drone with an F7 FC which fixes both the voltage issue + the lack of uarts, and adds some extra processing power for installing iNav or something like that.
I got the fiend, it has the vista plate to hold the connector, the voltage comes wrongly regulated but works when calibrated and I just used the TX pad of crossfire to the RC pad and set the jumper to ibus and it becomes an un-inverted UART. I have no RX connected but don't need any telemetry anyways.
Hello Dave!! The main issue I see for this quad is the FC. Which FC would you get for it that you know is 100% reliable and has enough UARTs for GPS, crossfire, etc...? Thanks!!
Hey Dave, you can change the solder bridge from sbus to ibus which means you can run crsf protocol albeit without telemetry. My voltage reading was wonky too
I have a Caddx Vista that has no communication with the OSD so you may want to check that in addition to the FC. I have 10 others so I do know how to set one up. I have seen that you can remove a diode inside the unit but I have not tried it. Lost model buzzer is indeed a big deal. Are there pads on the FC to wire one up? CL Racing does not have a way to wire up beeper.
@@gmivisualsjason3729 Input pins on microprocessors are really sensitive. The main chips run on 1.8v and 0.9v so it's really easy even using resistive divides and even zener diode overvoltage protection to blow them.
I was 50-75 meters in the air with my FlyWoo Explorer. I suffered RX loss because of a wifi tower and it fell so damn hard on concrete. (Maiden flight) Couldn’t find it for 12 mins. Vtx is ok 👌 Everything is Rock solid! Flywoo Explorer is the beast! Wonderful design Dave!
Talking about flight time,I've seen someone get 40 minutes with a 18650 Li-on pack(Can't remember if it's a 3s or 4s though)and a DJI mavic mini motor and propeller. Wonder if it's really that good
I bought the analog version of the flywoo explorer and it did not have the piece to secure the antenna. Is it a case where it was forgotten or are they no longer including it?
Hey Dave, do you have any experience wiring up a naked hero 8? The bec on the nanlessRC stopped working today and I’m just so frustrated with these shitty bec boards for the GoPro main boards.
No I just saved myself the trouble and got a GP7 that was already stripped from Flywoo. I can totally recommend that it's the same price as a regular GP7 and worked great so far.
Yea. My ufl pad ripped off.. (which is not out the oridinary) and now my camera sometimes shows just grey with osd I have to unplug and plug back in. GPS hard to get 5 or more sats.. But I did only pay like $145 for the explorer
I'm honestly annoyed by the fact that every time you buy an fpv product it's a lucky draw. It's not even specific to flywoo, they have the same supplier as all the other brands. Maybe we are just a bit too cheap. QC cost money that no one wants to pay. Most people prefer taking a chance and buying the cheapest stuff because we usually know how to repair things
@@DaveCFPV yea everyone was talking about this on discord. Same problem with betafpv.. I got three bad lite radios2 in a row. And hear from other people on a lot of other products of dead on arrival or dead soon
Hi Dave.Honest review. What you think about its flight time? Did you get Amp readings on DJI OSD?Do you think flight time is comparable with explorer? Thanks.
ive dropped a few of my micros in even very short grass... if you arent right on top of it good luck finding it - buzzer = mandatory ps. all of these micro frames are basically disposable... chances of actually breaking them are small since mass is so low but if you do... they break no matter if you have single plate or separate arms...
Yes indeed absolutely mandatory. Imagine searching for a vista equipped Micro with naked GoPro (=$600 of gear) in tall grass and knowing your chances are almost zero unless you basically step on it by chance

Nice review Dave. And it’s nice that you point the bad bits out. Specially about the ufl housing that’s quite bad them leaving some like that off, that frame is pointless. I’ve got 2 of your frames. One I’ve not built yet, what pids do you run on your build.?

Yeah I've had the same issue with a few vista's. No osd. Diodes seem to be a tad weak

Any recommendations for a micro lr that supports a whoop style aio? I’d rather that than a 16x16

HI Dave, quick question. I have the analog explorer. works great. Can I install my vista unit without issues ? Any tips ?
I got one of the Flywoo lemons. Had to replace the stack because it would randomly shut off then the antenna and now the GPS. It does fly nice though.
