I started flying FPV with 6S so I mainly have 6S batteries but if I'm going to be building/buying li-ions anyways, would you recommend going with the 4S or 6S version? I will be doing some mountain surfing with a decased Hero 8 and would like the longest flight time possible. I don't need lots of power for freestyle/punchouts. Thanks!

I received my Rekon 5. The interlocking arms are not very tight and there is a slight wiggle. Do I need to just re-tighten the red nuts or should I place some material in the interlock area to make the fit tighter ?

I’m loving mine. I highly recommend it. It’s not just a long range. Like Dave mentioned It handles freestyle with a full size gopro like a champ! I posted a few videos ripping it 🤓
been getting back into flying, my last was a geprc mark3... really thinking about getting into express LRS and upping my range. does it still have pretty good freestyle performance? im not mr steele or anything, but i do like to flip around and hit gaps. i hate decisions! 😢

Have you done much testing with slightly bigger motors? I've been seeing great results with 2203.5 and 2204. Especially when sub 250 isn't a requirement.

I want one. I've had success limiting output for high kv motors in the past. What's your thoughts on getting the 3000kv and using "set motor_output_limit = 0.87" in cli?
How notchy the motors are? I bought NIN V2 Dave_C 1404 2750kv, they are very notchy. They fly great, don't get me wrong, but for my purpose they send a bit too much vibrations to the frame and "sing", produce noise I think attributable to the magnets. With different motors a high note in the noise disappears.

Next for the question: The flywoo explorer obviously would have a slightly longer flight time than this with just a lion battery, but would it still fly for longer with a naked GoPro type camera on top? Congrats, I saw a vid from Albert Kim on this drone this morning! I don't run HD, so wasn't too far up my alley, but glad to hear you will have analog and 6s. The CSRF antenna placement looks oddly placed, but understand some of the reasoning. Those arm nuts, seem a bit questionable based on AKs review. Never used hglrcs gps unit, but its probably just a re-badge. I would like to see that camera mount closer.
Hello Dave Can you recommend a battery size for the 6S model? 1050mah or 1300mah. Do I still have enough performance with the 1300mah battery? I want to use the 1300mah battery for the Nazgul5 too.

Hi @DaveC, just got my rekon 5 6s DJI, it looks very good, but unfortunately flies like crap. There are tons of vibrations, which i can't tune out. Tried factory settings and manual tuning. It vibrates all the time during flight, only hovering at low throttle is stable. Blackbox shows very clean roll and very noisy pitch axis. Can you suggest, maybe i need to tighten something in the frame?
Really nice.... One question that no one has been able to answer about the hex... Why does the DJI version come with the F7, barometer and bluetooth but the analog version is just F4?
The DJI version absolutely needs the extra UART to connect the Vista without softserial. Also I believe they wanted to make the analogue version as cheap as possible for beginner / entry level markets
@@DaveCFPV I would buy one right now but want the extras that the F7 version has. The bluetooth and barometer especially. Plus the FC on the 4 inch had some problems with getting GPS satellites and with no barometer didn't hold it's altitude well I read but the digital hex didn't have those issues. I've sent the company inquiries but have not got an answer. Figured you might be able to help me out possibly. Thanks and keep them coming...

After flying my OG Charpu QAV210 for almost 6 years, it was time for a new drone. The Rekon 5 should be here today (4S Analog version w/no motors). I was reading that it could do up to a 4S 1800? So using a 1500 with a fullsize GoPro 7 shouldn't be a problem? BTW, gorgeous frame 🤙🏻

@Dave_C FPV i have purchased 2 of these. when armed and if you bump the quad, when landing for example, the power flickers to the Caddx unit. it loses bind and re-boots. if not armed you can whack the hell out of it and it wont power flicker. both my Rekon 5 quads do this. any thoughts? would love for this to be a Betaflight setting but i doubt it. PLEASE HELP!
Hello Dave _C FPV , I have the Rekon 5 HD and i have Problems with the high eng aluminium red bolt´s cause one armside is loose and i dont no and also nowhere read some information to fix that. There is no tool to tigten them up from downside cause from upside there are all the esc cables inbetween, so please can you give me a response how to fix it. Best Regards Tommes
A big screwdriver to tighten then from the downside usually works. Hex from the upside also works without moving the ESC normally. The wires and mount of the ESC are flexible enough you just need to be carful. If it doesn't work you can solder/desolder a wire
I´ve fixed it , best way to do is to use a fitting allen tool from the top and counter it with a tongs from the bottom. First i was aware to use this tools but it works fine.

That video was awesome! The vertical antenna has worked well for me at least. But failsafes are a mysterious thing...

Thank you! The Explorer will probably still have a slight edge even with a naked GoPro. It's still a lot less weight over all.
I hope Insta360 make a Go v2 without the 5 minute time limit because the 4K SMO is still a big air brake that limits range.

Sorry to hear that! It's probably a bad gyro...please get in touch with HGLRC customer service to receive a replacement FC.

fpv motor mount would have atleast two mount size options. Example for 5 inch fpv is 12*12 & 16&16.

yeah had this on another hd quad. try a good sized capacitor or 2 close to the vtx power rail

A big screwdriver to tighten then from the downside usually works. Hex from the upside also works without moving the ESC normally. The wires and mount of the ESC are flexible enough you just need to be carful. If it doesn't work you can solder/desolder a wire

I´ve fixed it , best way to do is to use a fitting allen tool from the top and counter it with a tongs from the bottom. First i was aware to use this tools but it works fine.
