    Vee tire - Mission Command tires 26x4 120 tpi foldable. You will love them. Good all around tire and quiet on commute and agressive enough for gravel and hills. I had them on Pedego Trail Tracker stock. I put them on my RadRover. Great ...2,000 + miles.

    The Tanus inserts are interesting but I'm glad they didn't have them for fat bikes when I got mine so I converted to tubeless using Stans. No tubes changed my life in goathead country. The first 2 months I had my Rover I got probably half a dozen flats, the 8 months since going tubeless I've not had one flat.

    • @CitizenCycle925
      @CitizenCycle925  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      this might be a dumb question but why wouldn't you still get flats when going tubeless? is there something inside the tire that seals punctures?

    • @RLowVaughn1
      @RLowVaughn1 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@CitizenCycle925 ...Yeah, there are several sealants on the market. I use Stans No Tubes and it was super simple to prep the rim and convert. It looks like milk but has little crystals in it that seal punctures and leaks. It works so well I carry a thumbtack around with me to show people by shoving it in and pulling it out, it takes less than a second to seal the puncture. So you still get the punctures you just don't know it. The goatheads here are terrible, they love to grow in the cracks in the pavement so there's no avoiding them and they puncture through normal tire liners.

    Would love to see an install video with the Tannus Armour. I picked up 2 Origin 8s and got the Tannus also. Havn't had a chance to install yet.
    One thing , the lower the TPI number , the more puncture resistant. Even though its less threads per inch , the threads are thicker in the lower TPI and more puncture resitant.

    Yay, you got 'em 🙂 - Thank You for the link to the Tannus site - I saved about $5.00 by getting their 'bundle' over getting them separately from another site...
    I won't be installing them for a while, though, as I've decided to sell the Rover and get the Rover Step-thru (I fell again last Saturday, while trying to get off the thing, foot caught on the rear rack and me and Rover went down).

    Just bought this special polyurethane tape called helicopter tape. It's supposed to be good at protecting bike frames from rock chips. They use it on helicopter blades and on the edge of airplane wings. Just figured you might want to check it out to protect your expensive bike

  • @robertbendell9537
    @robertbendell9537 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    FYI; Higher thread count tires do not equate to more puncture resistance. A 30 TPI tire has much greater puncture resistance than a 60 or 120 TPI tire. But, the higher thread count tires are more supple and in general a smoother ride. The sidewalls are not stronger than the lower TPI tires. All that said, you'll probably be okay with the Tannus Armor inserts.

      @@danielscott6266 i don't have it yet, but the math says if you are pedaling the stock chainring (42t) in 7th gear (11t sprocket) you will get 40km/h with a pedal cadence of about 75 rpm. Switch to the 48t chainring and you will get 45km/h with the same pedal cadence of 75 rpm. In first gear (32t) it is 13km/h stock, and 15km/hr with the new chainring

      It all depends on how badly the tire gets injured I’m sure.
