I am having a lot of connection problems with the deco M9plus, continuous wifi drops, and having to forget the network, wifi on/off, and reconnect until the next time I have to do all over again any ideas?
im using m9plus with 500Mbps, i cant get 500Mbps speed either in my main node or second node, is there any settings to this? previously i have m4 mesh wifi with 300Mbps speed, i manage to achieve 300Mbps most of the time.. any advice for this M9Plus.
Hello, just recieved the deco m9 triple pack. Also ordered a TP-LINK TL-SG108 - Switch. Question, should I connect te switch to my modem, than the deco to the switch? Is this the same result if I connect the deco to my modem and connect the switch to the deco?
The thing about Warren setup is the C5400 is almost adequate, but just like 1-2 spot like poor coverage. If Tp-link added onemesh support then he could buy 1 or 2 onemesh capable repeater, plug in, and that repeaters act like mesh node Sadly higher end routers like the C5400 or C4000 Don't support it while entry level A7 and C7 has it (probably becoz it's one of fast selling) but hey, it's all software based so fingers crossed tp-link will release software update to enable this functionality
Thanks so much for the video. Could you help clarify: I have Synology NAS attached to my Maxis router. Will Deco M5 affect it? Or can I connect M5 direct to router and use same SSID and password? Thanks.
Thanks for the video. Are you able to manage different property locations in the app, having separate networks setup for each property/location, or is the app designed to manage just the one location, in which case how do you manage multiple locations, say if I want to setup in 6 different locations/houses?
If you don't use the phone, then you can drop the maxis tp link router. If you are using the phone, then connect one LAN port from the router to the DECO. Main maxis router please turn off your WiFi and let your mesh take care of your WiFi. Also get a Cat 6 cable for top speed for the ports.
Hi Warren, Ive been using the M9+ over a year now and I didn’t realised there can be the same SSID for all the nodes until I saw this video. Is there something have gone wrong during my setup process? I have to switch a network to another when my wifi signal is getting weaker around the house
wanna ask how come my Deco M9 plus still need the old router to connect try b4 to replace existing old router as the video shown dat the mesh only connect wif the gateway ???pls help thanks
i think access point is still better such that you will get full speed all the time. just buy a 2nd router and make an access point. just need to be rajin a bit la to lay the wire from main router all the way to desired place.
Yes you can. When in router mode and connected directly with the modem, you can set the IPTV settings to "Unifi Malaysia" and automatically the second port of the main deco (there's only 2) will be the port for your HYPPTV. Interestingly enough, in my experience, the deco does not work in router mode if the IPTV settings is not selected. When I turn off the IPTV settings, the Internet connection is automatically cut off.
Absolutely. Indeed, plugging directly into a modem and using the DECO to perform the routing functionality is the simplest approach. I would expect/hope that the DECO is smart enough to figure out whether it needs to handle the routing functionality but if not then it would be easy enough to enable it in the app. Perhaps KLGadgetTV can clarify this aspect?
Whats the diff between connection speed and download speed mbps? How do u get the value of 800mbps connection speed? I have 1gbps base speed, but when i use deco m9 plus only gets 300mbps download speed ( over wifi) but better than a normal single router ( 100+ mbps). When u said connection speed is it ur signed up plan?
The problem with Deco M9 is that it cannot set more than 2 Main Deco. I've got 2 different deco on different location connected by LAN cable but only 1 main deco can be set as internet sources. Causing secondary deco to have slower speed than primary deco. I dont want to set multiple SSID i want to connect to the deco by using 1 SSID with both deco connected by LAN cable so that connection will be very fast, unfortunately it cannot be done
Hi! I am not sure if you guys gonna see this but I hope you do! I currently have a router and a modem (traditional WiFi system), and recently got the Deco M4. What I currently do is plug one of the node into one of the LAN slot of my Maxis router. What I am wondering is that is it possible to replace the router altogether with just one node? Meaning use one of the node as my router and place the other 2 nodes across the house. Hope to hear from you guys! Thanks :)
Hi, there. Thanks for sharing. I just got my Deco M9 from TM. Just want to ask a question. Can I leave my deco on for 24 hrs? Will there be any problems?
I just set up Deco M5 in Router mode. Main deco has one port connected to modem, and I want the second port connected to a DVR box that powers my home's CCTV system. But the DVR is not receiving Internet from the second port. I did the same thing with a satellite Deco and it works, but main Deco not working. Is there a way to solve this?
1) Can TP Deco M9 be a main router and replaces the Unifi Router? Hence I only connect one M9 to modem and another node on the second floor? 2) If my house is 4000sqft, shouldd i get 2 packs of TP Deco to cover the entire house?
@@klgadgettv that being said means I don’t have a buy another expensive router with lot of antennas and just let m9 to do all the work. Thanks for the reply!
Let's assume that everyone in Malaysia have 3 storey houses. LOL. if you live in a single storey house, you don't need to have the mesh wifi. The router is more than enough, unless your house is like 1km long from the front to the back. (hehehe).
Does your home have a WiFi problem? Let us know!

installed this recently. Superb! got maximum speed throughout the house and seamlessly.
An excellent review! I just love how you give a detailed analysis of the wireless mesh performance
Hello from California! Just here to thank you for your time and information.
Thanks for making it very simple to understand mesh network. Great review 👍
Would you get a faster speed if you plugged an Ethernet cord in directly from one of the remote nodes or would it be about the same?
Hello, just recieved the deco m9 triple pack. Also ordered a TP-LINK TL-SG108 - Switch. Question, should I connect te switch to my modem, than the deco to the switch? Is this the same result if I connect the deco to my modem and connect the switch to the deco?
how many users can we connect to this mesh m9
Cat u wire each node with an Ethernet cable, and plug say a TV into it,

You have to connect to the Deco if your devices are connected to it.
Excellent review. Really informational and nice comparison to a normal router
If you had plugged in another M9 Plus node in Testing Room D, would the connection results there improve noticeably?
Yes would like to know this too. The video example only shows when we using one M9 node only apparently
Exactly!
It would definitely help, cos that room has really thick walls
Where did u connect the M9 to at the Alcatel BTU?

Best review of the deco M9 plus out here! Clear explanation
Nice video. Do you know what is the length of the included cable?
1M as usual

Any idea on connecting Maxis Fibre? Is it the maxis broadband plug into main deco? If I wish to replace the current maxis router?

How do you set up the Deco M9 as an access point?
Can this system work with an apple airport?
Could you also please explain if there is a mixture of m9 plus which is a tri band + usage of x20?

Basically if you set up a mesh, you are already one SSID, can't go wrong unless you have one of the nodes setup as a standalone unit.
What's major different on Mesh Wi-Fi Deco M9 Plus and Mesh Wi-Fi Deco M4. offer by Telekom? If for home Wifi usage.
The things that offered by Telekom is a low-end stuff. Thats all.
Love the content!
Just wondering, does the mesh can solve wifi problem in buildings such as in school area that have few buildings?
I doubt so, mesh routers are designed for homes, for that you might an outdoor base station
You have a nas right, should have done an iperf test instead to not get bottleneck by your isp speed.
Huh, which part shows my speed being bottle necked? I’m sure if the signal is weak, any internet connection will be slower no?
@@klgadgettv your speedtest is only 100mbps. You could've test proper wifi throughput with an iperf test. Since m9 plus support more than 100mbps.

The problem i faced with it the speed drops to more than have with the original speed for the main router
why test point D location dont get 100mbps speed while near to second node by just 1 wall?
Do we need the unifi basic modem? Or just use the M9 would do?
You only need the unifi gateway
i think access point is still better such that you will get full speed all the time. just buy a 2nd router and make an access point. just need to be rajin a bit la to lay the wire from main router all the way to desired place.
Will this compatible with HYPPTV? Unifi should be no problem, but HYPPTV need certain port enable (e.g. Lan 4). Thank you
Bumping up this question (:
Yes you can. When in router mode and connected directly with the modem, you can set the IPTV settings to "Unifi Malaysia" and automatically the second port of the main deco (there's only 2) will be the port for your HYPPTV.

turn on IPTV/VLAN in deco app.. make sure IPTV VLAN is 600.. or you could pick the option from drop down list over there
the 1st unit must always beside the modem and connected to modem using RJ45?
Yes
can I use this without any router only modem itself?

Yes, it can be a router of its own, you'll just need to set up PPPOE on the Deco M4.
If u place the mesh wifi at test point C/D/E. is it need to connect to RJ45 as well? Or just plug in at electric plug only?
You don't need to plug in RJ45
Wonderful explanation! Thank you for your insights on this mesh wifi system.
Hi can you mix M5 and M9 together?? Help pls
Yes you can
Just wanna ask, i stay rumah flat, should i buy the 2 packs or just 1 pack is enough for flat house
2 PACK BETTER

how many router unit u received from Unifi 2 or 3 unit ?
Does this device provide Wi-Fi or does it just strengthen the Wi-Fi service you already have?
It is a router of its own and links up with the rest of the nodes to extend coverage
So if I purchase this. I will not need to purchase additional Wi-Fi?
Which one do u prefer? M9 plus or X20?
Both have different wireless specs, if you use a 1gbps connection best to go for X20

That’s because the second port is reserved for Unifi IPTV, you can’t disable that unfortunately.

Not necessarily, some single storey houses have thick walls that causes dead spots, my friend's 1000sf condo is a good example of that.
Can i add a 4th one ?
yepp u can just connect with the deco app
Good review
I'd like to see a comparison between the Netgear Orbi ac3000 and the Deco M9.
Also, very nice video and well done.
better use AiMesh. The internet speed is consistent, can handle more device and no dead spot. Cheaper too
Not really cheap if you are taking 3 units of ASUS AiMesh routers into consideration
kalau pakai deco m9 ni, tak payah pakai router asal tm ke camne?
Kalau saudara tahu username & password akaun Unifi, Deco M9 boleh dijadikan sebagai akses point.
How much tm paid.... Not worth for the price and delivered quality
Is it advisable to combine a WiFi 6 router and a Mesh network?
If you aren't transferring files over the network it should be ok.
definitely you dont need M9 plus model while you are subscribing 100Mbps.. just a waste of money.. E4/M4 is more than sufficient for your scenario..
If you have a lot of devices steaming, the M9 Plus is good to have, so it’s not entirely useless as more connected device can congest your network
Ma man!
Just a commercial - don't watch
