I'm confident the queen's pistachio pineapple dessert is completely amazing. I'd love to try it! But we common folk can enjoy a dessert that might be similar and is one of my (American) favorites. Combine 3.4 oz pistachio Jell-O instant pudding mix ,20 oz can crushed pineapple,1 cup miniature marshmallows, 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional - I don't use these) , mix together, cover and store in fridge overnight (allows the marshmallows to soak up pineapple juice and jello powder to dissolve) then fold in 8 oz container of Cool Whip. I bet you could add diced pears and chopped pistachios to the first step to get a more "royal" flavor! Called Pistachio fluff, Pineapple Pistachio Salad or Watergate Salad. Enjoy!

Looks like they kind of go over everything in the video, I think you can write down what you see going on. They do improvise a lot though as the original recipes were generally made for tons of people or use an excess of ingredients most people won't have, but they do mention substitutes that work as well and explain why they use various ingredients so you can tweak it to your own taste. Note how every time the chefs go "And now turn up the heat and let it cook for awhile" Michael stresses "Exactly how long?" and they go "Oh 5-6 minutes, you want that color basically." since this is supposed to be educational. Those potatoes and the chocolate Marquise. Would love to have the exact recipes for those! I've roasted a lot of taters, but those look amazing! I do love these videos, but many times I'm just grossed out by Michael taking bigger bites than can possibly fit in his mouth and him trying to cram it all in and then talk. Maybe it's just me.
I thought that Queen Elizabeth loathed garlic and sometimes onion and prefered leeks. Am I wrong here? Or misread an article? However, I am pretty sure I am right. So the quail dish was full of it. Would she really have eaten it?
Probably, the royal press tend to exaggerate some things more than not as if it's more their own opinion (they claim to protect the royal family, but it could be more their own personal bias). Like this one video where a guy said, "The Queen has impeccable taste, Garlic and Onion should be abolished!" (and not to mention the whole way they handled Harry and Meghan's situation..... which only really made the royals look even worse). I'm sure she personally didn't like the pungency, but was okay with the flavor when prepared properly, but the press really had to make it sound as if she can't stand it and has banned it all over. I guess so that if she's revealed to have liked it later, everyone would blame the press for lying rather than seeing the Queen as indecisive.
I wish they gave quantities for the recipes because these really are quite approachable and I would like to cook them. But I am going to have to guess based on the volumes I can see
Generally if they don't give the quantities, then it doesn't matter too much beyond your personal tastes. In fact, many high end chefs actually forego giving quantities because they don't want to encourage people to follow recipies to a T, which actually often leads to really bad practices. (like people SEVERELY undercooking thier meat because they think it's supposed to be raw in the center and only cooked on the outside, instead of cooking it to taste). If you don't want it to be as creamy, add less cream for example. but for the ones where precise measurements are needed due to the consistency or chemical reaction (like baking), they do mention how much you need exactly. For this pineapple and whipped cream cake thing..... it doesn't realy matter, up to you on the cream to fruit ratios.
@NEGUS MBARKA you are just showing everyone how dense you are. By posting such comment everyone will immediately know what a thick and obtuse person you are.
Interestng watching this beautiful dishes just one point that stood out and that there was garloc added to a sauce .and they mentioned that the queen loved this dish.. but i thought the queen never ate garlic?
In the UK particularly, they had to import it from hot tropical islands where it grows in abundance. The UK doesn't have the climate for it most of the year (if at all), BUT they would be very VERY fresh which justifies the price.
Someone needs to publish a book with all of these receipes. Please !! :)

A Newspaper changed the name in 1975 to Watergate Salad : Pineapple ( I dont eat anymore 😊 ) , Marshmallows , Pistachio Jello mix , Pistachios and Cool Whip . An American Classic , from the South they were from. I want to veganize Your version, without the Pineapple. I was able to mimic the Pineapple flavor in a Sherbert with Orange , Peach and Lemon . Inspired to try that Brussel Salad and Peach ... , V too . Thank Yous 🩶💖
I'm so proud of all of you smart, good people mad at this chef for using metal utensils on that pan. Good good job! So proud of you!
Are there any of the Queens cookbooks available for purchasing? I assume none
That is a fantastic idea! All proceeds could go to their charities.
it's a great idea. No wonder her Majesty has reached the age she is as well as Prince Philip. The obviously use the best ingredients, best vegetables their are in the world. This I think is the answer to their longevity. I should be cooking like this, therefore need this cookbook!@@JennaLeigh
@@adelezierler1547 wow- that did not occur to me, but you are absolutely right! She has been a steadfast, headstrong, and courageous queen for what, around 70 years now? I will HAPPILY take health advice and healthy meal recipes from Her Majesty!!🤗
I want the recipe for the potato and the sauce 😋
Those potatoes and the chocolate Marquise. Would love to have the exact recipes for those! I've roasted a lot of taters, but those look amazing! I do love these videos, but many times I'm just grossed out by Michael taking bigger bites than can possibly fit in his mouth and him trying to cram it all in and then talk. Maybe it's just me.
@Alicia Christian they are called Fondant potatoes.... he just used very large ones. Google it and they are amazing....

All the recipes are on the BBC website
My mother trained us to not speak with food in our mouth, he wasn't raised that way apparently.
@@clmarsik perhaps, then again, I tried very hard to no avail to train my son to take smaller bites. Fortunately he doesn't talk through the process.
I like him this guy very much he's a very passionate, on the contrary over Anna she's a just a doing it that's all.
Crazy how much history food can have too as well, right?
Take a drink every time Paul says "Michael"
or "like so" :)
Can I have some ?yummy
"like so, like so, like so argh!!!!" kinda spoils the experience with such repetition.
That would be very expensive and they are very tiny. What a tremendous amount of work to grow the pineapples.
In the UK particularly, they had to import it from hot tropical islands where it grows in abundance. The UK doesn't have the climate for it most of the year (if at all), BUT they would be very VERY fresh which justifies the price.
How on earth does this channel produce a documentary a week??
Coz they dont actually own these videos.
37:46 he says to gently pour it yet he splashes it in there 😂😂
Did that poor man's hearing aid fall out at 42:20?
Where are the recipe measurements? I would I love to make these recipes.
