Black Friday Sale now live: www.clubreadydjschool.com/club-ready-dj-course/ I added so much new content and bonus material - I have been devoting so much love and energy to it these past few months, hopefully you like :)
I feel like you’re the most authentic person on TH-cam that’s teaching ppl how to DJ, even though you got a course you put your heart and soul into. Thank you for helping noobs learn Cx
The comments from everyone speak volumes. I’ve been at this a long time with a real passion for DJing and appreciate learning from you! Glad you’re out there.
A tip for accapella tip :) ... by adding a little bit of reverb or echo on accapella will make it more blended to playing song... When just played raw to me sounds like a sticker :)
You're such a pleasure to watch. You're so into the music and I adore that. The way you let the first track and acapella play because you're vibing to it so much. When you watch some DJ's on twitch and sometimes they're so over the top you can tell they almost have a dance routine to their own tracks. You're a viber, man, your heart is in this and it shows :) keep doing it and we'll be here when this channel blows up huge huge huge :) I love teasing a song I plan to play next, or later in the mix, if there's a part I particularly love about the incoming track like a catchy vocal or an arpeggio building up low passed I like to integrate that at the build up of the current tracks in a very subtle way. I think it sort of penetrates into the mind and ear of the listener, and then when the track comes in on it's own they're like 'Hey, this is familiar and I dont know why!'
I remember seeing Spencer Brown in London and he kept returning to 16 bars of Above and Beyond's track '1001' throughout his mix, that was awesome. Every now and then between song transitions he'd just drop in this super familiar 16 bars, it was a 6 hour mix and it tied it together so great. Myon also did a 24 hour set last year and he did a similar thing.
Great video andrew! As a classic trance vinyl user i still love spinning acappella tracks. Ever since i started in the late 90s ive always been about the long mixes. I run pioneer plx’s and a DJM 450 and love them! I have wanted to use 3 decks for the longest time for various purposes and hopefully this year i can upgrade a little bit. Limited to the 2 decks i built my mixing style around long mixes, accapellas, the preview track foreshadowing cuts, and effects. As a trance DJ, like you said earlier... its you telling a story. I am a firm believer that track selection is one of the most crucial aspects cause each one is a chapter in the story you are telling. Love your content andrew and keep up the great work! I hope you would be willing to include some more content with vinyl here and there. Much love from coastal Massachusett👍🙏 🐉☁️
Love that your playing on the 400 now! I think there is alot of new dj's watching and the ddj-400 is one of the best if not the best starter controller!
Hi Andrew, You are the man !! Your tuts are so helpful and i love to watch them. After 3 weeks of playing on DDJ400 (never djing before, but had some experience with drums) my skills are going bigger, thank You for your passion and lessons for us !!!
Great as ever, the best videos on DJ tips on the tinternet. Would be great for you to do a video with the trans and noise effect as you mentioned. Cheers Stuart.
This is what me and dave are doing now andrew, with the 3 decks. Everytime I watch one of your videos, you always use a tune ive been using in my mix. This time its da hool, though ive got 3 versions of it, one of which is the purple disco remix. Which is quite good. Another great video for the masses again 👍. Alvin
(Video Idea) Always love seeing the notification and immediately watching your videos, too good to miss. Could you make a video on when to play genres in certain scenarios, and when to play a genre for a specific crowd?
haha mate! i feel you. i am just ready with my tech house set, but find it too ..empty.. and looking for ways to Spice it up. acapellas + melodies, let me see what i got in my collection ❤
quality tutorial as always Andrew, i personally loved the kiss and like a prayer on the 3 deck tech house mix and the jay z paris sample was awesome and it made me think about adding something like that into my mixes. This is the best channel on youtube for djing by far and i look forward to the ddj1000 mix and starting your course in the summer. cheers jono UK
Really useful video for me....Thanks alot for making this also using the DDJ-400, cuz that is what I use. I mix alot of UK bassline and sometimes house this will defo help in the after drop sections of the tracks to make my mixes more interesting. Love the videos mate, keep it up !!!
For everyone who is thinking of getting the Performance Plus course, its defiantly mind blowing! So if you liked the tips of this video, the Performance Plus Course is a must have for you!
Felt it - when you play enough you recognise patterns in the way producers make music - I smash this out big time in my course - understanding music theory and the formulas used to make tracks makes DJIng a lot easier :)
finish previous blending, fade track away, think about next track, load it, listen, think its not right, load next one, listen, check gains, check if it beatmatches good enough, set first loop for introduction if you want to, start blending. how do people have spare 3 minutes between transitions? :)
really like your videos. I just got back to my hobby and doing only vinyl djing. So a little different to set up vocals with the right speed and timing. But i will try to do this. Maybe you can ckeck some sets out on my channel. 😀👍
I would love to but my old Technics 1200 died a few years back and it would involve buying a new kit which would be at least $4000 - so not sure there is enough demand these days to justify the expense. However in saying that I have a turntable and listen to vinyl still :)
More great tips - on the controller I am using too. Any chance of 20% back for us if we’ve already brought the course.....😂😂😂 just joking your course has been worth EVERY penny 👍🕺
Hey Andrew, great video! Just one thing, adding effects on acapellas like echo and reverb are definitely the glue that makes a mash-up sound next level. Also for melodies maybe instead of playing the whole, just get the melody you want and make it a DJ Tool. That's how I do it and makes the whole mixing process more like producing than just blending songs...
How is it that the acapellas of some tracks are so different to the original track? The acapella may be 85 bpm the original track 120 bpm. Not sure how to fix that. PS love your energy and quirkiness - you be you bro.
Awesome info man. Check out some of the latest AI software that allows you make your own Acapellas by extracting Vocals, Melody, Drums ect from any track, its super cool stuff. True, but then again, when artists use vocals on tracks they don't always use reverb, but yes a small amount of reverb couldn't hurt :)

Where can I get acapellas from known songs like the first acapella he used to mix in?
James Hype does acapellas on tech house beats like.. ALOT. Its so fun to watch and sounds really good
Agreed, no doubt he's a very talented and dedicated dude :)
Hello! Would you ever do any videos on vinyl mixing? Love the videos, I watch them all even though I can't apply most of it 😂

Over 10 years ago at some random shop in Sydney - I can't find it now - one of a kind :/

Mix the 85bpm accapella Into a beat sequence that's 170bpm.
@@Del-Blanco-Diablo I don't play anything over 130 bpm!
@chrisstory5836 u could try reducing the accapella down too 65bpm but you risk making it sound like a Barry White track..

Which dj pool do you suggest?
Depends on which genre you are into. There's one I use but can't mention here as there's a grey area around it, but it's all in my course haha
The vocals in the Artemis mashup are offkey. D minor song and D # major vocals.
For some reason I always liked those tracks together, until now haha, perhaps you're right!
Do you have a SoundCloud ? 😆
Not anymore, I'm semi retired from playing and put greater emphasis on my students these days :)
Hello
What track is at 19:16?
What do you think about Dj‘s That mostly Play bootlegs? Open for Opinions
I prefer to do them live - make my own bootlegs on the fly, however let the crowd be the judge!
Text my girl, make a sandwich, take a piss, selfie, make a drink, back to mixing...
I think the second acapella wasn’t mixed in key with the progressive track 🧐
OH no, still I liked it - but then again music and art can be interpreted in many ways, it's great you have an ear for it - you must be very talented :)
It is music theory, not talent. Stll, good job.
Love this however That second example was 🤮
