My dad owned a Cub Cadet when it was still part of International Harvester. He bought it new around 1962 with optional mower, snow plow and dump cart. It had a Kohler 7 horse engine and a three speed non-synchro transmission. In a way I got a lot of safe free driver's ed from mowing the yard and plowing the driveway. They don't make them like they used to!
There is a lever somewhere on the old cub cadets that will put the hydrastatic transmission in neutral for towing. People have destroyed transmissions by towing without them being in neutral.
The cubs in My opinion are the toughest tractor.made i have a 122 that was in that condition i end up flap grinding all the paint and start over good luck

I believe this 109 weighs over 600lbs. That's an indication of how tough these little garden tractors are for sure. Thanks for watching!
