I know this is a simple repair but I still learned something from it. I've done a jumper before using a thicker gauge wire which I flattened before soldering. I didn't expect the small wire to allow for such a robust solder joint. Thanks for posting!
That's awesome thank you!
I dropped mine onto the floor once and now it will just randomly cut usb power and it's damn near impossible to get up and running again.
I can't count how many times I dropped my ps3 controller, still works like a champ. This build quality is just awful and the A button has always been bad with registering.
Hey bro i have the same problem how do you fix it?
bro you the best, you showed what type of screwdriver bit i need and u get a sub
Thank you!
Perfect !!!!
I use this same Xbox one controller on PC (for warzone), and recently dropped it and it fell into those USB plug while plugged in.
Now, it seems that the right analog stick no longer is recognized, and when pressing the select button when I get I to a game, it interprets the controller as a keyboard input which is weird. I was thinking maybe I partially broke a connection so my PC no longer recognizes the device as an Xbox one controller, but still shows as a "Gamepad controller" in my device manager.
Do you think that might be a result of a partially broken USB connection due to the direct drop on the plug? Wondering if I should try this fix or not.
i think i have the same prob;em for fortnite i play controller pc so yeah ive dropped it too
My USB port is jammed down inside the controller need help on how to fix
just fixed mine , i removed the port and hard wired the usb wire into it . no more issues ever.
how so
I need a video of this
Right. I'll do this tomorrow!
Could you do a vid on how to do it
Yea but 1 now u have a wired controller 2. What happens when the usb wire shortcuts or stops working then your fucked.
Is it the same thing like What mine does is that I need to hold the charger or cable a Type of way in order to work or turn on the controller would it be the same problem
is there a way without dismantling my controller coz im only 9
Magic, and prayer
💀
Ask your parents.
I've been looking everywhere for this solution. Thanks!...It seems like there should be a wired adapter that fits into the battery slot (use instead of a battery).
My controller won’t connect via Bluetooth. It blinks, and it will do the rapid blink when the sync button is pressed, but will not connect. I tried to use a usb to connect it, but it still will not register on my Xbox. Any ideas what this could be? Is it fixable? It seems like the controller is still usable because it lights up but I truly have no idea.
until very recently made controllers you need an adapter for the pcto detect them. It isnt a bluetooth controller its more similar to logitech does with proprietary tech.
My xbox will read anything expect for the controllers, what should i do
Can someome tell me whats wrong with mines?
Whenever I plug in the usb and turn it on it flickers and vibrates then it turns off. It can only turn on when the usb pressess downward
Tried this solution but the pins arent sticking up and are connected well. Putting the cable into the controller makes it vibrate for a second but will not fully turn on/connect. Only get a solid connection if i push the cable hard into the port.
Hey bro i have the same problem how do you fix it?
My controller will connect to the cable and all that fine but when I go to turn it on it just blinks a few times like it can't sync and turns off after about 6 seconds.. I tried this with another controller and it did the same thing I thought it was the cable so I replaced it.. nada.. then I thought maybe it's the actual usb connection I was using on my Xbox so I switched it to the other one and.. nada.. I'm pretty much that far in my investigation. With batteries the controllers work flawlessly so I'm confused
Mine don’t even work with batteries
Any developments??
What were they thinking, using a terrible micro usb port.
Would have been better to make their own port.
can u make a vid my controller from 2014 Xbox btw is not connecting to my android phone via dongle its not bluetooth and im not a great mechanic or anything
Amazing!
Do I have to apply the flux or can I just solder after pushing the pins down?
I recommend using flux. It is better if you use flux but not impossible to do. Anyway why would you not use flux??
@@FixItPlanet1 I don't have the flux. I just have the solder and the iron. Thanks for the help though.
plz make a video i put my charge in my controller and it wont turn n and the charger in fine it works with my phone and my other controller
Take out ur battery and put it back in ur controller if it’s still broken it’s ur micro usb
Ouitk what is that
Vishruth Gudipati factz idk anything this video means we need translation 😂
What would happen if you put a small piece of aluminium between the copper and the pins?
explosion
Pro Tip if you dont have a security Torx driver: just use a flathead.
How do i fix the usb port on my xbox elite controller? version 1?
Same bro I dropped mine now it won't charge

@@keytein2554 i learned how to fix controllers and stuff now just replace the motherboard with the port on it and you should be good that’s what i did and it works just fine now

Hey fix it planet I have an a problem and I was wondering if you can help I can’t describe it as how it’s acting but I will send you a video of what’s it’s doing
You should add background music or something, I kept thinking my audio was cutting out haha
Oh god yes the audio sux. I know just rub it in...lol.
i have a big problem, my pdp xbox one controller is working with only one cable, i tried different cables, and different usb ports but it works only with single one, dont know what to do, please help
I don’t know if can help me but my controller won’t connect to Xbox like it does and then de-syncs after like 2 inputs it even de-syncs while connected via usb and I know it’s the controller that’s messed up since my other 1 isn’t having problems other than my broken buttons can u help me on fixing the sync issue
If I move the controller a lttile bit the wire makes it disconnect and yesterday the wire completely does not work like my controller won’t even turn on any more
Did you find a fix
Kripo no I ended up messing the cable inside the controller i got a replacement thi
how can i fix a loose micro usb port on one of these? my micro usb cable keeps rocking left to right in the port and the controller disconnects frequently
You must at least re-solder or replace the port. Smile
hey dude i’m having the same problem let me know if you find a solution
@@caesardebossman5180 ended up buying a new micro USB cable and it's a bit sturdier
How much would a repair like thus cost at a shop??
The same price of a used controller. Just get another one unless you are doing the repair your self.
@@shul5684 cheers I stopped using controller it’s been 11 months lol. Thank you for the reply tho!
@@Nonmercury bro... just bought a wired controller right now.. just to realize the cable i was using on my old controller WAS NOT the right one. I was using a cellphone cable and those cable only CHARGE they don't send information... I feel like an idiot.. oh well I guess I have 2 controllers now lol
@@shul5684 that’s so annoying ahahaha, most cellphone cables now do actually send data but older cables don’t. I would suggest seeing if any other cellphone cables that u have work
I do not find a helpfull answer on my problem.
It won't connect with USB UNTIL I use it WITH batteries.
Is this still the same issue like in the video?
(It worked with usb without batteries before. Of course. It should, I know.
I just don't understand what's the problem now. And it get's hot though down in the middle.)
I tried even a new controller - same problem.
I feel like a noob ^^'
I have the same issue. 🙄
Me too!
I could use it before with the usb without batteries but now I can't...
Same one here and I cant find the issue too
And the thing is - my 10 year old(!!) 360 Gamepad works on the same USB-ports without a problem!
But the One-Pad is just better designed, I like it more.
Same problem here 2 controllers..
Does anyone know why my controller 1. Dont turn on with cord 2. Dont turn on with batteries 3. When i put batteries in and i hold down the power butten it stays white then shuts off
Controller needs an update that is all for the number three step
Mine only works when the cable is turned down, when it is in normal position it turns off.
How much would this cost for pay someone to fix it?
Probably the same or more than a new one.
I'm having problems connecting mine via wired connection to my pc works fine with android however
I wish I can actually give my controller to you cuz this is annoying asl
what does asl mean
Maybe Omar meant ASF.... lol

Please can someone help me understand it. My xbox controller works on some cables but wont work at others. I just bought new usb cable and it wont work... =-=
Hmmm... maybe it needs to be soldered again.
Can someone do this for me cuz I feel like imma destroy my controller the my USB port it corrupted so I can’t plug my Xbox controller in it because it won’t work
You can’t corrupt a usb port
What if I don't have that t8 thing can there be another way I can fix it
Try using a small flat head screwdriver that fits.
@@FixItPlanet1 and kill the screwhead LUL @Bracefac_jafee seriously, just buy a set of torx screwdrivers etc. you will need them more than once in your life.
@@Great_Orange_Sultan you might aswell just by a new controller then while you're at it
I think this is my issue my black controller wont get access to turn on Whit Micro usb
Same
thanks
You're welcome!
I dropped my controller with a USB wire in the USB port and I've managed to bend the usb port now my controller just cuts out if I move the controller slightly so I have to now go back to using batteries
Yeah same for me
What liquid was added before soldering?
No clean flux amzn.to/35Zi714
can you repair my controller for me?

Mine was smoking so idk
Joseph R coquia yea same
@@thatguyyk8710 who's name was that??
Is there anyone that people can send it to, to repair a controller?
Buy the power A wired controller, or the PDP
MS spent a million dollars designing this faulty piece of garbage. I'm on my 2nd one and I'm not buying anymore after the usb port on it went to crap too. My PS4 controller works flawlessly since Christmas 2015. MS are pathetic. I'll not be getting the Xbox Series X. Also, whoever designed micro usb should be kicked in the face.
oh yeah, your thumbs are going love those sticky/oily cheap ass ps4 analog sticks and the weak plastic triggers that will break if you are looking at them in the wrong angle. :D beeing disappointed about poor product quality while switching to a product with even worse quality is the way to go.
@@Great_Orange_Sultan As I said, I've used my DS4 since 2015 and haven't had a single problem with the controller at all. I had the PS4 before getting the Xbox One X. The console is fine, the controller is GARBAGE. Who ever was in charge of development and went with micro-usb should be fired. Microsoft in all their divine wisdom couldn't bother making a wired controller. Using a detachable usb cable doesn't make it wired.
What type of wire did you use?
40 AWG Magnet Wire copper see here amzn.to/2AIJ6C3
AFter lots of research and trial and error, i'm here to tell the world... model 1537 on Windows 10 will not work IF ITS PLUGGED INTO A USB HUB. -_-. Doesnt matter if cheap one, USBc hub, whatever. It wants to be directly into that PC.
Is there anyway I could do it without taking a part the controller????
Nope
@@FixItPlanet1 Anyone you know who could do the job for me?
What's up.
what solution did you apply at 6:34?
I think that was solder flux
That is Flux

i dont kno what the clear stuff was before u sodered
That is called "Flux" we are using this type amzn.to/3jd3csb It's used to help the solder flow smoothly and bond.
phillips head screws.
Nope that would be a T-7 my friend. amzn.to/3fnq2KR
What about a Xbox 360 controller 🎮
i end up buying a lot of battery like 203
For real ? You bought 203 batteries? Why?
@@FixItPlanet1 yea
you know you can buy a rechargeable battery pack like on amazon which recharges in a few hours, ive been using the same one for 1 year now.
Way better than buying 203 batteries btw.
do you really expect us to get all these tools???!??!?!?!??!??!?!!?!?!?
It's only 5 tools plus consumables; 6 if you include the microscope. Soldering does take research and practice though.
Exactly i dont think we would be here if we had the tools lol
Yes go out and buy the tools for one $50.00 controller.
If you had been gaming on a budget for 30 years you would have these tools :D :D
Then dont and f off
Or update your controller-
an update isnt going to fix lifted pads is it lol
Useless
