I miss demo discs so much. Sure you weren't getting full games but $10 CAD for a Jampack disc with 10-12 playable demos giving you at LEAST 5 hours of game time PLUS some of the demos having serious replay value, as well as $15-20 CAD for a magazine that came with a free disc inside givjng you the same thing, were genuinely BOTH amazing deals. especially considering full priced games were like $70 back then. demo discs were also a GODSEND if you were poor and couldn't afford a whole lot of games. only own like three games for your PS2 and can only afford one new game every six or so months? well a $10 demo disc was a fantastic deal for those people (i would know, i was one of them) and offered them something different to play. growing up i played demos RELIGIOUSLY because i didn't have very many full games (i had Gran Turismo 3, SpongeBob Battle for Bikini Bottom, Real Pool, and Destruction Derby Arenas to call my own at the time, that was IT). my older brother didn't have very many more games than i did (i remember him owning Resident Evil Code Veronica X and the original Devil May Cry at the time and that's it) and the games that were considered "the whole family's" we only had 4 of (those being Final Fantasy X, Final Fantasy X-2, Dark Cloud, and Kingdom Hearts) so we got a LOT of value out of demo discs. once a month i remember my mom would come back from getting groceries and she'd toss that month's issue of OPM on my brother's lap and shit would become an EVENT as we tore into it to get the disc out and load it into the PS2. then after spending all night playing the demos and watching all the trailers, Cool Moves, and behind the scenes stuff, we'd actually read the magazine while we'd just leave the disc on the menu playing the menu music.
Found your video after remembering a horror game I played on a demo disc back in the day (still haven't found it). After watching and hearing the "back in the day" talk, I was taken back to the days of when my dad would get his magazine and I would start playing the disc. I had great weekends playing them. To me, sometimes, it was better than having the actual games. I would constantly move onto something else, so the demos were great at keeping my attention. There were a few games my father bought after playing the demo. FFX being the one that sticks out the most. Sometimes I wish I could go back to the days of sitting in front of the tv playing these demo discs. I still have them too. From 2001 to 2004 til my father cancelled his subscription. Some scratched to hell, but damn if they weren't the great joy in the world. Reading the magazine was a plus too, because you could get information on what was coming up. That's how I found out about Suikoden. Thanks for your video.
Yeah? As I started this video at first I though oh this is going to be simple but most of these demo discs had a lot more to cover on them than I had thought. I changed this video around a few times while editing.
I have a lot of demo discs. I want to get all of OPM's discs. I am missing some of the middle ones. I don't really want to do let's plays, but I think for Demo Discs, I may make an exception.
Awesome video Kevin! I miss those demo discs, they were soo neat. I still have all of mine from back in the day. I should check them out again at some point.
Yeah it was fun to go back to these, it doesnt list very game on the disc are and i forgot how much content and what games were on these. I even got a neat gamecube screensaver that still works on windows 10.
Oh man, I had so many demo discs from OPM. Whenever I see them out and about now, when they're cheap enough, I grab them. They're great to collect! Squaresoft did their own packed in with games and I used to love trying out a Final Fantasy segment before the game released. Remember the MGS2 demo that came with Zone of the Enders? People were buying that game JUST for the demo!
I had a few demo discs for the ps/ps2. I loved them even though they were all so brief, or just a mini movie of it. I would look for the titles whenever I went to this game store we frequented whenever we were in the area (I cannot remember the name of the place now). I recall playing a game called Thread of Fate, super fun. One of the characters could turn into a beast after you defeated said monster. Gauntlet Legends and Legends of the Dragoon demos were always very fun to play as well, even though it was one level/boss. :)
Thank YOU for watching Billy! Demo discs were pretty common on some consoles but a lot of people got rid of them. You usually dont see them used from my experience unless you find them in a magazine still.
I have a disc case full of old PSM demo disks that I have been playing and some jampacks but that one you are holding at 2min 20seconds is the only one I can't find dam it
If you really want the demo I've seen that one listed on ebay before since i have bought another demo disc for PS1 since making this video. Though I guess now you could just get the full game or games instead. Thanks for watching.
I mean I don't usually sell my games over the internet but maybe. Is there a reason why you want the demo? If you have a good safe way to contact me and send me money digitally for it plus shipping then maybe we could work something out.

STOP YOU HAVE VIOLATED THE LAW! ;)
Ace combat 5 was awesome for me at the time
I've never played that game series before. I have played some of the Top Gun games and there's a game I have on Wii that uses the Ace game engine.
