Bought a FUEL EXe when it came out. Loved it, but always found myself wanting something more aggressive and my prayers were answered. Just laid down my deposit on a 9.9. 🤟
I like the light e-bikes. I absolutely love my Trek EXe. It’s all the power I need. But, it feels like a regular trail bike. I even turned it off once and rode 20 miles round trip down to the beach and back, with 1,100’ of climbing.
I got my Cannondale Moterra neo 4 for £3,300. A bike that Cannondale retail at over £10k, but I've struggled to ever find any feedback on this bike from channels such as yours. Loving the bike, it's an absolute weapon for sure
I just left my local Trek dealership. They can’t give bikes away right now. Everything is heavily discounted and there are signs all over the store for clearance. Bold move releasing a $12,000 ebike in this economy.
Got myself a Cannondale Moterra Neo 4 with bosh cx performance line, 150cm rear and front with quite reasonable gears and brakes and wheel sets. All for 3000 pounds, model discounted by almost 2000 and with extra blue light card discount as well. If you spend time browsing you'll get a good deal.
Wow, thank you! That's my Wife's Haibike Alltrail 3 given a Super Nice, but I now have an impossibly high bar to match when I finally get my own eMTB 🤣
Isn't a high pivot to help with kickback. A Emtb cannot get kickback because of the sprag bearing. Hopefully they have Patented this to stop others from making the same mistake. E=Mtb²
@@kyletriesfitness500 I think all this high pivot stuff is simply marketing and over complicated.A bit like rear suspension linkage ratios. The best bikes seem to have the shock acting directly in line with the frame. Rear Suspension is number one in the Tyre size(bigger is better) and pressure then in the shock action. Fox 38's forks work brilliant without linkage directly in line. E=Mtb²
Great channel!! Can you guys review how a Garmin GPS interfaces with a Fazua Ride 60 e-bike? Given how they provide a very minimal display on an e-bike, I wonder if their Garmin Dashboard app picks up the slack? I ride a Turbo Levo Pro currently, and 95 percent of the time, my Garmin 830 is not needed with it since the bike has a decent built-in display. But it seems like a Garmin with e-bike stats displayed would complement a Fazua e-bike nicely.
Just sold nukeproof megawatt and regret it the moment the money exchanged hands. Would be good to get a new one that's laying in somomes stock new for a great deal
The market for EMTB is highly tech driven, it's like buying any other tech, like a TV, computer or phone, if you want it, find whatever suits your need and wallet at the time and go for it. If you wait for "the next update/iteration/version/sale" you're going to be on the fence forever. Buy! Ride! Enjoy! Then, in a few years, when we see 1200+Wh batteries paired with 150nm + motors, and a MGU that has regen seamlessly integrated with your ABS brakes, on bikes weighing in at ~16 kg, sell your old 50-60nm 20+ kg clunker, and buy that new shit!
I bought my Powerplay in 2022 for full price and don’t regret it at all. Absolutely brilliant motor, not had too many problems with it other than the speed sensor stopping working because of mud every so often and the main downside being that the original cranks (170mm) are far too long. Latter problem hopefully about to be solved by some NSB Talon cranks in 155mm.
I have thought long about the full fat vs the SL bikes. I had a full for a few years and eventually it started to feel like I was plowing through terrain instead of playing. Whenever I got on my regular bike it felt so much more playful and poppy. For that reason I am keen to try an SL bike. Hoping it delivers more of a bike feel just with a little extra to help on the climbs.
Looking at getting a EMB, anyone got any recommendations on where to start? It all seems really complex, especially when coming to picking what bike to get!
full fat ftw the big thing I'm patiently waiting for is to see if manufacturers will move to belt drive/ gearbox-motors. less unsprung massage the rear, quieter drivetrain, less maintenance and best of all; no water problems with a motor filled with oil ! cheers
The new Trek Slash must have been developed over the last couple of years before the new gen of lightweight full power motors have come, 21kg for a mid- assist bike? Yeah na il stick to my full power rail thanks, There will always be the latest and greatest coming, but personally now that my bikes out of warranty I'm happy with older proven tech that can be serviced etc.
Genuine question- I thought the whole point in a high pivot idler wheel was to reduce pedal kickback on normal mtbs When you turn the pedals backwards on an e-bike the chain doesn’t move. Doesn’t this eliminate the need for a high pivot design on a motor assist bike? Am I missing something?
Why don't you guys do a program about the e bikes your camera people use, the range they get from the batteries, their ability to handle bike over rough terrain with heavy back pack on their backs.
Well there are plenty of options for you! Personally, I'm excited to see more mid-power (and mid-weight!) bikes come out to give more options for those of us who don't want full power.
It's interesting that most of the bikes you showcase have Bosch or Shimano motors yet your visit was to a Bafang motor factory. I am wondering if it did not more sense to visit the Bosch or Shimano factory?
They wouldn’t have him. This channels kinda shit. Everything excites them @ they talk about old motor technology. Feels like they’re making content just to make content.
What the presenters keep forgetting with these bikes is the chuffing running costs. How often do motors rip through chains and cassettes. Then add the cost of servicing suspension. Is it just me or is it a costly pursuit?!
I ride 1000-1500 miles of steep terrain every year. I buy brake rotors every other year for around $100, brake pads for $50, a cassette for $80, two chains ~$100 for the pair, new tires at least every other year, so count $100/year for them. Winter studded tires for $120 each and will last 3-4 years. So the yearly total comes to $500 for the upkeep. I don't go to bike parks and I rarely drive to bike trails. I don't need to pay for a gym membership or buy protein drinks to stay fit. My wife who hates to spend money agrees that the ebike has been worth it.
12:20 Why not just pronounce the t ....... wa-er , mo-er . Seems like more awkward to leave it out. Weird. Yet it's pronounced in "fantastic". Double weird.
When all these E Bikes are Old and You Can Not Get Motors or Batteries there Then Worthless ,A Normal Bike is Always Fixable. No One Ever Says Whats Going to Happen To All this ?Will there Be an E Bike Mountain of Junk in 15 Years Time ?
Hey guys I have trek rail9 gx cube stereo race160 and a voodoo zoobop e the original with upgrade yari 170s and that's my favourite park bike it just jumps a dream compared to the others ,the longer cube 160r i call the magic carpet and the rail is the rail
Are you taking the micky? Its called a mountain ebike.....you live in britian and you say you try not to get your ebike wet. If its not waterproof then its not fit for purpose and should be called a dry day trail bike. You guys need to call the manufacturer's out if you are truly unbiased. Funny on the GMBN tech site you advocate cleaning your bike and this site advocate minimal cleaning
What do you think of the new Trek Slash? Let us know in the comments!

Trek has been run for years by idiots…
More like stupid move, their product team should be dispersed
I honestly think they do this to look better when "deals" come around. They might have the discount price pre meditated.

I'm relatively new to e-bikes, but my levo feels like an indy car compared to my dirtbikes. Total scapel in the tight stuff.
Woo Hoo. Finally made it onto one of the shows! Loved the ride up Fan Y Big and the Beacon Beacons. Highly recommend 🍻
That Haibike for 2.5K is a winner for me !!!
Power trumps weight every time. My mates on mid power bikes are under powered and have range anxiety. 🤷♂️

Think it's also to improve suspension feel as the tire moves in a rear ward path as it comes into contact with objects on the trail

Back in February I got my Cube Stereo 140 SLX for £3300. At the time the list price was £5300.
Really happy with it.
I bought a Specialized Turbo Levo in 2022. I love the bike but seeing the Husqvarna at that price is an absolute steal.
That's the HC1 in the video, you might be thinking HC5 though.

GCN in general should try to get bike manufactures to give a percentage of any sales used with an affiliate link.

I just picked up a rocky mountain PowerPlay a 50 normal price 6999 on sale. I got it for 3100

I need a link to that 2.5K haibike as I can't find it at that price ... 😔

You forgot to mention the YT Decoy core 1 for about $3,500 shipped.
I love my Fuel EXe. I'd love to have the Slash+ in my quiver
Fuel Exe 9.5 3.5k down from 5.5k. pretty good deal imho. Wanged some lighter wheels on I had already and a better fork I also got on sale. Mint.
I like the mid powers trek are putting together. Love my rail, but mids are cool.
What size battery was that slash?
The Yamaha Moro is also a great deal under 4k.
You have to add at least $1k to all of those prices here in Canazuela.
I was hoping for an updated motor for the new ebike Treks. I think that TQ is underpowered for the Slash.

This over the sworks kenevo sl?
How come the cube models never appear get a 750 W battery with a new Bosch motor car frame for 3000
If you want to fit in in Wales, you need to say “isn’t it, wasn’t it, boyo” after every sentence 👍
Full Power
The Radon Render 8.0 for €4300?
Full power all day long,
The Trek Slash looks a fab, updated rig but I don’t like the price tags. Come on Trek we ain’t all got bottomless pockets full of brass!
Why don't you guys do a program about the e bikes your camera people use, the range they get from the batteries, their ability to handle bike over rough terrain with heavy back pack on their backs.
Mid assist 20kg? What’s the point
YT Decoy Core 1, $3,749 USD
Giant Stance?
Can you please review the focus thron2
I have zero interest in mid power, full power all the way.
yes T7E
Well there are plenty of options for you! Personally, I'm excited to see more mid-power (and mid-weight!) bikes come out to give more options for those of us who don't want full power.
A man after my own heart
FACTS!
Especially a low power - light weight one

Non-drive side rule doesn't apply on EMBN... we like to see the brake calipers and motor just as much as a drivetrain. Get with the program guys 😅
