Review of the shop in the description. Really liked the bike. My next bike may well be a high pivot, after riding this and a deviate highlander, i love the way the high pivot rides. Range was excellent, eco matches you to 150w, so coming from a non ebiker, this feels amazing and almost doubles my speed if im climbing normally. Range in eco: i did 4500ft that day and still had over 50%left ( i did the whole descent in turbo, which included some flat out level/climb sections) Significantly better than the less than 5000ft i got out of a Transition Relay. Legs wise, i felt like id hardly done a climb! Negatives: The price vs spec, it had entry level fox rhythm suspension and shimano brakes. To be fair, they seemed to work well on the day. The non ebike gen 6 slash xt is the same price though! When did Trek get so expensive haha
Thanks for the review text, the bike is extremely interesting imho, the battery offering exchange/swap so you can even go on extreme tours and still hit does gnarly sections as they deserve it!
yes, i've no interest in full power mtb, even if it was lightweight, i like getting the fitness out of cycling too! I think this bike is a great compramise. I recently rented the non ebike version gen6 slash at home and tried it on less epic trails haha, it still works absoutley fine on smooth blue level trails and then obviously works really well on horrible rough sections with rear wheel catch roots.
Luckily it had scratched the sticker on the fork lowers, so they let me away with it. Ruined the day though already!! But what a bike, if im getting an eebs, it will be that one. I rented a transition relay too - big disapointment
ironically, out of the 70,000ft descending we did, that was the only time i came off... yea when i asked the next rental place he even said "sure weve all cracked frames, that what the insurance is for"!!
I would say if i was allowed. Its not on trailforks etc so I can assume the builder doesn't want the location published. Many of the youtube channels I watch from BC publish vids, but don't give locations for that reason. Finding this trail, amongst others in BC, is the result of 5 years of my research into the area. I've spent a huge amount of time, to the point of obsession, learning as much as i can, the result is, i got to ride some amazing trails, and I wanted to record it.
No, i haven't tested that. But this trek was excellent. From what ive ridden so far, this was better than the transition relay by quite a bit. The price seems ok on this one too. The motor and battery combo on this worked really well, i'd say it would last 10,000ft climbing in eco! I'm coming from a non ebike, so the power in eco mode felt great, it matches you up to 150w in eco, which i felt was loads.
@@alex737M nice I just sold my transition relay. Was not happy with how it handled either. Trying to decide whether to get the heckler or slash. Tough decision 🤪
Interesting! i was quite disapointed with the relay, but mainly the motor and battery combination seem to mean not much climbing. The ring controller thing was awful, and the LED wern't as good as the screen on the trek. I rode both in medium, the trek was longer and just felt better for me anyway. I was immediatly comfortable on it. And if you go tthe trek the TQ motor and that bigger battery should mean alot more range for you

Where did you rent this bike from? Thank you! Loved the video.
It was ridehub in squamish, they looked at me like i was insane when they found out the bikes were going to be put in a car too ...!
Lol'd at your intro! What did they say when you took it back?

@@alex737M Aye mate MTBs are made for getting thrashed, mental!

I gotta ask...where is this trail...looks freaking dreamy!!!!
It took alot of research to find this one! Its between Van and Whistler is probably all i can say!
@@alex737M Gatekeeping trails. What a shame.

Where is the bike, we never see the bike. Just a handlebar getting down the slope
I'm riding the bike lol? I did leave a written review as a comment if that's what you mean? Its a really good bike!
Hey have you tested a heckler sl? Which bike would you choose if you could have one or the other?
