When you get to 120k miles or if the transmission start to shift hard. Drop the transmission pan and change the filter. Reused the stock gasket if it's the metal kind. Use good GM atf from Walmart. Don't put any kind additive in there. That transmission will last 300k plus miles with a clean filter.
It's a SCAM! Same thing happened to me. Brake line was fine, but when I went to pick my car up from a EGR valve install, after paying him, the mechanic then told me he can't let me drive it away bcuz a brake line had busted on him, he wanted an additional $150 to fix break line. I told him hell no n that my break line was just fine b4 I brought my car in to him n that he must have literally stomped on the brakes to get a brake line to bust so he could charge me more! He told me I would have to have my car towed home for $60 if I didnt want him to fix it then. He kept my keys hostage so I couldn't take it home! I knew that since he purposely busted out the rear brake line that the front brakes would still work, so I had to wait until he turned his head n I snatched my car keys n got in my car and drove it home using the front brakes only. I then replaced the rear brake line MYSELF for only $25! Lesson: Don't trust mechanics! They are in business to scam n make money, Folks!

That's why from now on if I can't fix my car MYSELF then I just sell it! Better than letting a scamming mechanic dig me into a lying MONEY PIT! I don't give a fck what anyone has to say, Mechanics r in business 2 make money, PERIOD! N the good ol "honest" days r gone, so in my opinion ALL mechanics are shady as hell! Solution: do your research on Google n TH-cam 2 figure out what the problem is n fix it YOURSELF, n if u can't then just sell that MF! Lol
As someone with mechanics in the family? Don't ever take just one opinion, and try to be as knowledgeable as you can about your own vehicle. Knowledge is very much power and mechanics know they're needed so they're not afraid to charge high prices. 😢 It's sad but it's like a lot of other things in life: ppl will take advantage of they think they can
@@TJwasHere92 That is messed up. I was at a muffler shop and the owner of a small dealer was pissed off to the top of pisstivity. They had stole cats of 5 of his trucks and suvs.
