My sister asked me to do her makeup on her wedding along with the rest of the bridal party (I was maid of honour). I said thank you but no, trust me no. Just because you can do your own makeup does not mean you can do other people's. Plus I don't have enough products, hygiene equipment for mass use, and I don't know how to makeup for photos etc, especially for a wedding!
I actually did my sisters hair and make-up but she isn't into beauty like I am and wanted a really natural look (barely foundation for instance) and eventually she loved it! But yes it's a very tricky thing to do, especially if people want a glam.
When I used to do my make up (I haven't for years, daily. Usually special occasions only now) people asked me all the time do to their make up. You work on your OWN face DAILY, or at least LOOK at your own face daily LOL not someone else's

I am neurodivirgent. I would be having the worse panic attack having TWO people touching all over my face while arguing and snapping at each other. Like straight up screaming kinda panic attack.
The last time I went to the dentist, it is a little like this. I just cried! Not like active crying, but tears just kept falling as my mouth was wenched open and that bright light and the dentist and the hygienist. It was a lot! Anyway, so, I agree with you.
I love Judy D but I wish she wouldn’t do some of these. I watch and I’m just like “ewww…” They are using USED mascara and lip colors on her and just 🤢 And I don’t know why all of these MUA’s hate her eyebrows. They are the perfect shape for her face
Yeah, me too! I’m worried that one day she’ll get a dangerous allergic reaction or a serious infection because of the makeup she gets sometimes. Some of these MUA’s kits are nasty AF. 🤮

They do hate her eyebrows! I haven't seen ONE video where they leave her eyebrows as they are. They always want to wax them off, or they do this exaggerated blocky shape. If I'm remembering correctly, she did have to take a break at one point because she did get an infection (I think it was conjuntivitis).
That “you’re peeling” just reminded me of my wedding day… my make up “artist” (after putting no moisturiser) just said “you skin is eating the concealer, I cannot make it work on this side”. Can you imagine the panic??? Thank goodness my bridesmaids had another MUA who ended up saving it for me 😅
Robert’s face when the glitter showed up had me screaming 😂 I would not be able to do 1% of what Judy does, I’m so squeamish. She’s a goddess among us mere mortals lol.
She is so much braver than I am. I’m a professional makeup artist (SFX more so than beauty) and sanitation is SO important. I always get so nervous when she goes into these places. It’s hard for me to think anything other than INFECTION 😅 We had a girl come into a small film production (it was the first film this production team made). She was going to do the beauty makeup while I did all of the wounds, her personal makeup was fire… it genuinely looked amazing. That being said, i thought I saw her use all of the same brushes and applicators to two people, but I didn’t say anything because I was working on my own actor and thought I probably just didn’t notice the change out… but I saw her going in on the third person and stepped in. There was zero sanitation or care. The first two actors were also made aware of what had happened. The whole thing was a mess. It was apparently her first pro makeup job, and I really hope she learned her lesson because she was truly talented. I also hope the production team learned a lesson on hiring as well 😅
She was probably a newbie, a shame because free lancing can be such a great career for people who never got any real training, but, like this girl, have talent. Learn as you go, but what a harsh lesson. Looking back, she's probably mortified now.
@@moviebuff6490 she was really new. It was only her second or third job. I tried to explain things to her as gently as I could while still conveying the severity and importance. This was about 6 years ago, and we’ve worked together twice since then and stay in contact outside of those jobs. She’s grown to be an amazing MUA; I’m so proud of how far she’s come. I also know she’ll be able to use that experience to teach others!

We need to normalize being honest with one another. People can be honest in a nice way.

This video was excellent, it gave me chills and made me soo nervous. It gave me “Kitchen Nightmares” vibes, but for makeup! I think she did get an eye infection once. She made a community post about taking a break from making videos for a while, but that was some time ago. I think it was last year?

Watching the second half of this reminds me of when I did hair and someone would interrupt your process to dictate how to do something. It never goes well (unless you're doing training and someone is meant to be teaching you).
Robert! I would love for you to do a video on how to “fix” or “refresh” makeup. For example, you mention using by your finger to tap out concealer, but when I do that my finger takes all the concealer and then it’s patchy rather than smoothed out.
Judy D has the patience of a saint! I would would not be able to keep my mouth shut during any of her visits to these "Make-up Artists". I going to strive to have patience like Judy.

Mum is a retired art teacher. She says you can be creative all you want but if you don’t know how to use your tools properly and don’t know what technique is appropriate to achieve what you’re trying to do then it’s going to end badly. I think this video is proof that the same applies to makeup artistry
