You may want to check your math. When you get 3 shots in 0.24 seconds, there are only 2 splits between shots. The first shot just starts the record time. Your splits are 0.12, not 0.08. You might get a 0.08 split on a PCC or Open Gun if you bump fire or you are Max Leograndis or Jerry Miculek, but you are not Max Leograndis or Jerry Miculek.
Yep I'm an idiot. Thanks for confirming. Ms. Goode gave me the only F I ever received in my life and I had to go to algebra summer school in 10th grade. I know she's dead by now and I know she's laughing at me from wherever she went.
I sometimes flash the Sig custom coin at the cashier by "accident" to let the plebs know I am very badass and wealthy. Wish my Ferrari came with a custom coin also.
@@tfbtv The challenge: Paying for it. If there is no challenge, it's shouldn't be a challenge coin but a commemorative coin. Taking a class and beating a par time? Give that one a challenge coin/patch.
@@lexwaldez I think the XL grip frame would be preferable. I got the P365 before the XL was an option. I carry a G45 over my G19 now for similar reasons. But I still need a good summer carry for my James style shorts.
Guns and golf drivers, my flawless strategy to stay broke no matter how little or much money I make. While no gun is at fault for the fact I'm not as good a shot as my money and practicing time should make me, there's that little part of me that doesn't want to accept the fact that maybe I just suck because i'm not very good and I should not blame an inanimate object for my deficiencies.
@@jvz1448 buy the 365xl Wilson combat grip and make your own 365x. You don’t have the optics ready option. But you already have the gun. 60 bucks and you can convert it to a longer grip.
"I think that will only be a small portion of the TFB TV audience" James knows he's talking to us poors in these videos, and is just touching it gracefully in this sentence.
My favorite feature is that they left the rear irons on the gun and moved the plate forward. I agree with James that I hope they make this the new standard for 365X/XL. I saw Mike from Fieldcraft Survival talk about this gun and I couldn’t wait for TFBTV to drop this episode.
Oh my god, I was pissed when I saw that! I switched over the the XL after carrying a g19 for like 10-15 years(best decision I ever made) and the fixed rear sight is my only complaint. It's not like the sights are bad or anything, but I'm just so used to XS Big Dots at this point. Now I gotta buy a whole new slide just so I can put the iron sights I prefer on them? Why couldn't they have just done this from the beginning!? Lol. Actually, I haven't finished watching the video yet so maybe I'm wrong here, but I just realized that I can't even do that, because I don't want a freaking comp on my micro-compact gun. Hopefully the comp is removable, or they sell normal XL slides with the dove-tailed rear sight.
@@schulzbrianr Me too bro, I just want to buy the slide. I use Talon sandpaper grips on all my pistols anyway.👍 I don't know if the squeeze is worth the juice though, I'm pretty happy with my 407k on stock slide.
I enjoy most of James' talks,. but this one was particularly useful. I'd still go with the P365XL because of the barrel length and price factors. The factors in helping me decide were all laid out there so plainly. Thanks James.
I hear ya on barrel length I'm currently trying to decide between the spectre comp or standard 365xl or just getting a new full size FN 5.7 or Sig P226 mk25. Any Advice?
I really like that the optic plate is moved forward and doesn't remove the rear irons if used. That should have been how they did it from the start. The rest of the features I don't really care much about, I just like the bare bones models mostly. Love my standard p365 and been looking to pick up a 365xl to compliment it, wishful thinking that this might drive the price of the original xl down some soon lol?
I bought a zev slide strictly for the optic cut. I don't normally get gucci guns, but that Sig optic cut is stupid. The Spectre comp makes me think they realize this, just don't want to admit it yet.
You won’t regret getting an XL! Absolutely love mine(my wife’s) and it’s such a enjoyable weapon to carry mine being a HK P30L which I carry. Ya big difference
@@Heyalbert_ yeah bro I’m glad I saw your comment because I went and checked and saw it wasn’t the comped version, I was honestly considering buying it
Interesting review. If Hopperson J. Reeves had been there, he would have changed the battery in your sight with the one he carries in his tactical sneaker pocket. That's all I'll say.
Nice vid James. Maybe on the next onion test, remove the dry outer layer before testing. If shots can peel the 1st wet layer, that's significant, but we got to get the fragile dry layer out of the way.
Small note, you did have the flashlight on the Spectre Comp, the weight would affect the recoil vs. the XL without the flashlight. May seem minimal, still a variable. I do appreciate your videos.
Me to my p365 in 2018: You are perfect. Forged into an unimprovable innovation. Me to my p365 in 2022: You are trash. An outdated, paperweight that didn't even come with a shiny coin.
What I enjoy is the fact that the Sig line is offering more options to allow every responsible gun owner an opportunity to tailor to their needs and comfort. I'm a "Sig guy" due to the P226/227 models offering the rounded grip and tactical models that won me over. Now...P365/P320 are crushing the market and have really given Glock some competition. I liked the CZ, tried Glock, Walther is worth mentioning as well as H&K...but honestly Sig shoots and feels more comfortable in comparison...and offers WAY more options from concealed to full size.
After watching this (and before, to be totally honest), I'm more than happy with my P365XL with Holosun 507K. I'd rather see Sig come out with NEW stuff (i.e. 10mm P320) instead of putting out Gucci versions of existing models. BTW, I love Sig and they have the most weight in our collection. Thanks for another great vid.
@@virtuaguyverify no way. Maybe half the owners in a very small segment of the larger concealed carry market space. Get gun, get holster. Done. That's the majority of 365 owners.
I like red triggers to denote match/very lightweight triggers. Its mostly to remind me that one trigger is 2lb while the other triggers are factory 4-6lbs.
The side by side break down between the different models was very helpful. I was confused why the specter comp only had a 3.1 in barrel and not a 3.7 like the XL. Thanks for clearing things up!
I’ve seen at least a half dozen P365 reviews. This is the first I completely understood. I’m now a subscriber… and not just because of the scented candles. Thanks.
Now have put a few thousand through the xl and the s-comp. Probably not worth the extra, however there are some things not mentioned. When shooting +p rounds the extra speed and accuracy is dialed up, that comp really kicks in and that is what I would run if I had the comp as a daily driver, I was really staggered by the difference. I think the bigger upgrade to the XL that I purchased is the icarus grip module. Having the extra weight made a huge difference in flip, that being said moving the icarus grip onto the s-comp made it feel way better than most full sized guns I have shot. Cannot emphasize have great it shot. Also the icarus grip has better stippiling addressing the only major weakness of the gun and that is getting a grip quickly on such a small gun. Just food for thought, hopefully it helps someone.
Thanks for this review comparison and peeling the dry layers of this onion, James and Sam. After researching Sig Sauer (Thanks to Mas Ayoob's book and more recent American Rifleman reviews), I recently purchased the Custom Shop P365 Spectre Comp Coyote Tan which ships without the usual gun lock since the Custom Shop guns ship with a lockable plastic padded case, 17 rd. and 2-12 rd. magazines. The next day I received an email from Sig Sauer announcing the start of a promotion for the P320 and P365, so I applied the maximum store credit to the purchase of a Romeo Zero Elite red dot sight that will arrive next week. This is my first Sig, and likely my last firearm purchase, with which I am well pleased. The other 9 is a Browning BDM with a Sprinco recoil buffer (mentioned by Tom Gresham on GunTalk radio), which requires more effort to retract the slide than stock, but that effort is close to that of the P365 with a similar two-spring system. Muzzle flip was greatly reduced with the Sprinco buffer, and I expect the P365 will behave in similar fashion. I am impressed that Sig added two rounds to the magazines compared to the BDM's 10 and 15 rounders... Nice that Sig has conversion kits for the P320 and 365, too. (The onion later appears in the Farm Journal Cookbook recipe for baked beans. BTW, This P365 fits my hand well, and was $200 cheaper than the black and gold.)
Has anyone said that you resemble Jay Hernandez.? He is the lead in the newer version of Magnum PI. I enjoy your video blogs. Like your since of humor. Keep up the good work.
Interesting. We have a standard P365 and also a Hellcat RDP. Before I give my observations I will say that I despise micros as I can palm a basketball and any micro feels like someone made that little plastic Canik tool into a real gun. I don't like tiny guns and I refuse to even pick up a women's basketball even if I'm by myself and shoot a few free throws. With that said, the P365 when I first shot it was lightyears better than any micro I'd ever shot in my entire life. Not only did I not actually hate it, I kind of liked it. Got the Hellcat RDP next to each other last week at the range and alternated 5 shot bursts until both empty. I can honestly say that the compensated Hellcat was a massive improvement on the regular P365. While I have tons of technique flaws I'll die trying to fix, I never struggle with muzzle flip. With that said, the Hellcat RDP barely moved and recatching the red dot was not even close to an issue as it never went out of view. I would love to do the same experiment with the Hellcat and the Spectre Comp. The really good news without resorting to Hellcat sucks or P365 is the only or brand loyalty/preferences to me is that good companies are starting to recognize that micros don't have to be annoying and crappy just for the sole purpose of being able to conceal in hot weather. What I hope happens is that other companies take what Springfield and Sig have done and focus on making the micro market fun and not embarassingly lame like it always has been. I love the incredibly competitive free market that does nothing but benefit the consumer with innovation and pricing.
I can palm a basketball as well, and Tactical Development's 'extended pro ledge' for the 12 rd magazine makes the P365 XL Spectre Comp's grip almost perfect for me.
😳 My nearest gun store in Dallas has them in stock for $1499.99. They had 5 this morning and their down to 1 last I checked. I can’t believe people are willing to pay over $1600 (tax included) for a Sig P365! That’s a Langdon Tactical Beretta price and that gun is 976.12 times better than a Sig P365. I did the mathematical calculations myself 😂😂
@@robinstephen3084 407k is least expensive and gets the job done. I want the solar charge one they just released this year but I’ll wait for the price to drop on that one.
Looks impressive but I’ll keep my P365 with xl slide and Holosun. It is great to carry, accurate, 12 rd and 15 rd spare. But I have really become a p365 fan and any combination is just hard to beat. With this addition you can build it pretty much anyway you want. Great review. Enjoyed you conversations on ASP.
I couldn't agree more about the p365 being such a game changer. I carried a g23 for about 5 years, followed by several different g19s for another ~10 years, before switching to the p365xl a few years back. It's probably the best firearms-related decision I've ever made. Not only does it just seem to melt into my body and almost dissappear, but it's also a great shooter. My only beef with my original gun was that I had bought it before they made changes to the slide, moving the rear sight back a bit, so that it was no longer attatched to the optics plate, which A., meant that you lost your rear sight when you mounted an optic, and B., that you were stuck with the irons(or at least the rear sight) that the gun came with(which isn’t the biggest deal in the world, as they're decent sights, they're just not what i prefer.)
I'd rather have the longer barrel. I T&E'd the 365XL against the G48 for my department. I found the 365XL to be extremely manageable in recoil, better than the G48. It doesn't need a compensator. This is cool-bro shit that only has a purpose to drive further sales.
Agreed. The modern CCW firearm market has serious diminishing returns compared to other markets. You get a weapon here that is over twice as expensive as a 365XL, but is nowhere near twice as good. The cost of this doesn't even include the Romeo Zero optic; which is going to tack on another $130 if you want it. I guess if people have the cash to burn they can go for these price inflated upgrades. I don't think the juice is worth the squeeze for this though.
Hard agree on the xl over the 48. It's an upgrade in every conceivable way. Looking forward to trying the PMM micro comp on my xl nonetheless. It won't make edc any less comfortable for my body type so I figure why not try it
I wasn’t sure about a frame mounted comp either, then I bought one for my 1911 that swapped the standard bushing for a comp. Yeah, it actually makes a big difference. Sure, it extended the length of my 1911 by 1.12 inches, but the performance benefits made up for the added length and slightly longer draw (draw is much less noticeable since I carry the 1911 in a leg holster). I have the standard 365XL and thanks to this video, I’m getting the comp. Who needs 2 of the exact same pistol? That’s like being given the option of choosing 2 Corollas over a Corvette. Easy choice for me
TOTALLY AGREE. I come here for honest reviews and to be entertained....NOT to he lectured to my hypocritical, lying, pandering, for-profit patriots. Thanks James.
Sig moved the cover forward, the sights are no longer on the cover AND in the gen 2, they dropped the “L” from the slide, so the newest XL just says X.
The benefit of the P365 XL is the price, while it's more expensive than Glock the P365 has outstanding upgrades in comparison. $1,200 is simply too much money for the upgraded pistol in my opinion..
Tfb says, what’s the difference between this gun and others, well for starters is way more Expensive don’t get me wrong is nice pistol but mu concern is the Index finger is very close in the end of the barrel and the gold chamber gets black and after few mags fired the sig specter comp pistol gets Really Hot you could burn your hands I have few expensive pistols more than that he’s showing but mine are way better
@@johnvarner1587 I was way off, going by some info I saw on utube yeah that's well worth what you would get,but I only pd 625. for fde xl so I could up grade without throwing the bank at it, thanks for info.
Great review of this high end custom pistol. You made Sig proud of what they put out. I have to say that at 1200 dollars I would rather purchase a Sig 226 Legion and call it a day. $1200 seems excessive for a carry pistol unless the challenge coin is made of solid gold.
I Have the Legion P226 SAO and the P365 FDE two tone... I LOVE the Legion at the range but I dont carry it because it's a full size gun and can wear easy. The P365 is an amazing little gun but I wouldn't mind getting this new Spectre comp to replace it so I can get the same feeling the Legion gives me but carry it with me everywhere... I love my Sigs :)

Just got a 365x. Shot the regular 365 and couldn't get a great grip on it. Love the extra grip length while keeping the same slide/barrel length. Put about 500 rounds so far without any issue, planning to fire thousands more. This is a cool upgrade but I like mine enough to not look around for a replacement.
I have a regular 365XL and a spectre comp. I was at the range today with the latter. It's a very fun gun to shoot. I have a Holosun red dot on the regular version and intend to put one on the spectre comp. I'm 69 years old, fairly new to handguns, and need the extra help.
OK I will JIM so buckle up 1) The d i s g u s t i n g red P3AT was a gift from TFB when the channel crossed 50k subs. Is it ugly, yes. Does it mean something to me? Also yes. 2) For the Ameriruger - first of all, tone. If this country were a gun, it would be an Ameriruger. And if you don't like the Ameriruger, you don't like America. And if you don't like America, you can leave. Simple as.
Ended up making my own from parts. Went with a boresight soloutions grip, mag guts 14 round mag springs that keep the same size as the normal XL 12 rounders, and the dark bronze spectre slide with a 6moa green dot holosun eps carry on it. Fantastic gun, the boresight grip module is so, so much better than the stock sig grip. You’re left with a 14+1 P365 that I can shoot nearly as good as my radian comp G19, that also disappears when concealed and is 100% reliable for me so far with about 1k rounds on it of mixed ammo, and that’s with the mag guts kit, so I’d say it doesn’t effect reliability. If anything, it makes where that last round going into the mag isn’t nearly impossible to get in, kinda like the p365 usually is
The real question is, when does the slide become available for all of us early p365 adopters. If it uses the same barrel as a p365 then we could just buy the slide and throw our barrel in it...
I was in need of something small to carry since I live in Tampa Bay and dress like Thomas Magnum. I am lucky, I picked up an XL last week for my birfday. It happened to be the "X" XL. I had no clue this model even existed until I took it home and noticed the L was missing. It is indicated X for the removable optic plate without having to remove the rear sights. Win! No need of a Spectre for me since I don't care for gold let alone challenge coins. The Spectre just seems like a "look at me pistol". It's the tits on a bull version, or a 4 door Porsche Sig 365xl. This is my 3rd favorite video, the second being the one of you and Jack Carr, and the one of you and your mom at the range. My mom likes that video too.
One of the problems with porting barrels... at least it is with me, is that the report at discharge is literally ear-shattering. I should mention that my experience with a ported handgun was with an S&W .44 Mag revolver that I hunted with. When I fired it (w/o ear protection) I was done for the day - it rattled and shattered my ears (I do not hunt with ear protection), especially when hunting bigger game. Anyway, I am permanently done with ported guns. Now, this Sig model appears to have a ported slide (whatever real advantage that provided?). So, that ported Sig model does not interest me at all, personally! But, thanks for the test!
Easy to have earplugs halfway in and you still maintain atleast 90% of your hearing capability, then when you are about to shoot just push the plug in (I keep my left one in and right one half way in so its easy to just touch my ear and push it in when I know I am about ready to shoot). Over time you will save more hearing and probably hear better with the plugs in than if you keep shooting without plugs.
Yes, porting makes it louder, but in a self defense caliber, it's no big deal. I had to shoot an aggressive dog with my ported .40S&W Shield and the loudness of the report was but an afterthought.
FWIW, when say deer hunting with especially a handgun 44mag, 357mag, contender 35rem I use the hearing aids that amplify your hearing and block out loud noise like the report of a firearm. But who would want to wear then in a EDC situation, not me.
I talked to Sig at a gun show about this. They will eventually release the slide on its own but they said that’ll happen once sales of the whole pistol die down. I’m just gonna wait for the slide considering I already have an XL
@@flaco5581 Thanks. One other question if you know. Is the grip on the comp model the same size as the 365XL or the size of the 365? On Sig site says the height of the comp is 4.8" and the XL is 5.5". So not sure why the difference unless a shorter grip?
The Spectre Comp is “all that”….no doubt. However, if I wear going to buy one, it would a pre-owned one for around the $900.00 range (out the door), as I did after searching gunbroker for over a year. The P365 platform in general is probably better suited for the .380 with the Sig Xcompact being the better size for 9mm control, but the extra cost on the Spectre Comp does equalize out its diminutive size relative to handling recoil and getting back on target with the hotter 9mm, especially with hotter or +p loads. Great review James.
I bought a 3.1" P365 titanium barrel late last year and it was terrible. It was not coated thoroughly when I got it. Then I returned it with a negative comment. Surprisingly, my comment cannot be found anywhere on their website. Then I made a call to the customer service and report this again. After some time, my comment has been shown online but I guess nobody really cares anymore.
I chose the 365 X Macro Tacops no Comp it has virtually no recoil. Extremely happy once I figured out you don’t stage the trigger and slowly squeeze. I have better control when I stage trigger to the wall and rapidly squeeze the trigger then I don’t notice any gritty areas.
Just don't buy a first gen and be an early adopter. Let James do the beta testing for Sig and you'll be fine. Sig quality and customer service are fantastic. Initial Sig product design and quality control on a new product... not so much. Don't pay to beta test Sig products for them. With that said, I love my 365 ALMOST as much as I love my Walthers (and it's a helluva lot easier to carry).
As always, James, very nice review from one of my favorite reviewers. One thing I find, is that, ever since I bought my P365....March 17, 2022.... my eyes are immediately drawn to the rear sights when that angle presents itself in these reviews. ALL the You Tube reviews of the 365, in all its' versions.... by EVERY reviewer, and from any angle....have guns with very bright "night sights" and remark about how "fantastic, great, really bright, best night sights on any out of the box gun I've seen", etc, etc, etc....while my own, brand new, P365 has.... except for a very, very, very....faint greenish "glow" on the front sight.... what I would, more appropriately, call "ninja sights"....invisible in ALL lighting conditions....bright light, low light, NO light. In fact, I have a "Navy Seal" diving watch that has brighter tritium on the hands and number markers....and that watch is twenty years old! But, Sig says my sights "meet specifications"....so, while this is a fairly common complaint with the P365, I guess I just don't know what I'm talking about, and can only wonder what the next failure might be, and what excuse Sig will use to avoid fixing it. Whether you are a multi million dollar corporation, a not so wealthy company, or just an American gun lover selling one gun to buy another, NOT representing your product honestly, and standing behind the product you sell when there IS a faulty part, is very, very....very.... bad "mojo". It is NOT just about the money, it is about integrity. You either have it or you do not. Despite all the rhetoric about Sigs' "great customer support", I've noticed it seems to come from those that have never actually had a problem with their brand new gun, and asked Sig to fix it....and that ratio is not important. I have Smith and Wessons, a Walther PPK, and a Glock 19, gen 4. I have not had any problems at all from any of these guns, and would not hesitate to buy from any of them again. However, with Sig Saur....now....their failure to easily correct this obvious mistake on their part ....when they actually, physically... had the faulty part in their hands...means that I can no longer trust them, nor what they claim about their products.
I really like the look of the Spectre but the 30% reduction in felt recoil, according to Sig, for an extra $600 to $400 depending on which other model of XL you'd want to go with seems a bit high for me. All that said it looks badass and if I see it on sale I'll probably get one.
Bought my wife the spectre for Mother’s Day. Loved it so much I got one for myself as well. Replaced my edc of over 8 years with it. Did ok on the price for it for $1170 each.
Thanks for the detailed review. I was already considering the xl but thought if the comp model blew the xl out of the water the price could be justified. Not a fan of the bling, just the performance, so doesn't sound worth it to me.
I'm running the Spectre slide on a 365 XL. That slide by itself reduces muzzle flip a bit so I'm curious how much difference there is with the Spectre comp. Not real keen on going to a 3.1 inch barrel though. Went the other way instead with a True Precision threaded barrel that's more like 4.2 inches. I like the idea of the slide redesign - maybe. Running a Holosun 507K2 which has an integrated rear sight - allowing 'iron sight' usage if needed. Also I'm wondering about increased crap ending up on the RDS front glass with it being closer to the ejection port. Looking forward to the comp hitting dealers soon to see if an upgrade is worth it or maybe another slide... Any change in the trigger over an original XL?
I've been saying this same thing for years based on tests I've been able to do myself. However, people online like to parrot what other people said to them like it's gospel rather than using common sense or actual real world experience. As a community, we firearms enthusiasts are absolutely terrible when it comes to doing this exact thing. We all think we're lawyers, ballisticians, scientists, and tactical gurus. Thanks for doing this test... maybe this can help cut through some of the BS people keep posting online.
@@kilgoreclayton it's not your fault,, he says himself in the video it's 3.6 inches Long, unfortunately I'm just a dummy but I know the size barrel length of the gun I'm reviewing, I mean if we can't get that right, what's the use of a detailed review. ✌️
It certainly looks good. I almost made the mistake of buying the Spectre model that did not have a comp and when I saw the price difference between the p365X RomeoZero and the Spektre, then the Spektre Comp I decided I’d prefer upgrading the p365X RomeoZero. It’s now being outfitted with Armory Craft trigger pull reduction springs, GrayGuns Straight Adjustable trigger (in nickel finish 😍), Foxtrot365, and most importantly, the GrayGuns barrel with comp. Still deciding if I want to swap out the grip/frame. If I do it’ll likely be a GrayGuns one. So for now, I’m still looking for the Sig Custom Shop pistol that’ll consume my thoughts until it comes home with me. I’d really prefer spending $1k+ on a Sig Custom Shop P226/229, p220, or 1911 anyways. Maybe even a p320 with the AXG metal frame. No plastic gun is worth $1k+ though IMO.
I would get the coin just for the mating order. Don't need a coin when I pull my P7's out on the range. Got the m8 for real conceal, the m13, just because.
Another great video by this channel. Love your sense of humor, you’re such a funny cool guy. Love your HD quality of your videos and still shots of close ups of the guns..it takes your gun channel to a whole other level above everyone else’s gun channels… you understand what we want, we want to see the details of the guns up close, we don’t want to just see somebody shooting an entire video……This was a great myth buster video too and answered so many questions about compensators and their flash. 🤓👏
They will sell the slide eventually so that's what I am waiting for. After about a year, they have had the Specter comp slide available for some time, but not the X Macro slide. Decided that I wasn't willing to pay the extra money for the Specter Comp slide assembly on the website, and purchased an aftermarket option. So far it's fantastic, better serrations, no holes through my slide, and more affordable. Hopefully I can put together a review on it that gives future buyers the information I wish I had before purchasing it.
Great review and personally I like the upgrades and think it looks awesome, however I already have a standard P365 and a 365 XL. If this were out before I bought my XL I would have considered this one but then again I can afford it. Already having an XL i'm less likely to buy this unless I sell the one I have and Bla Bla Bla. Love my XL. It is definitely up to the individual and their budget. Probably not going wrong either way, which is basically what you said....hahaha
Marketing is magic. Ford came out with a tailgate step before GM, and S&W came out with porting with the Shield Performance Center almost a decade ago.
I really want to see a side by side comparison of the Spectre Comp and a P365x with a PMM comp in order to see how much of a difference it makes when the comp is affixed to the barrel or not.
Not sure why but all the videos of the pmm shows it's stove piping. I would assume that means the comp works better. The built in sig comp isn't a true comp probably.
Thanks for doing this video. I didn’t know how a comp integrated into the slide was supposed to work. I asked on SIG’s video and got no response. This video covered my questions. Gracias.
You're getting it confused with the allegations against the 320. To my knowledge, there have been no such allegations about the SIGP 365, and I trust it enough to carry it, no question.
I must admit when brother sent me a video of James when I was in market for a new EDC he rubbed me the wrong way but I started to watch his material more often and I kinda realized he reminded me of me so I hate myself when I get up but as day goes on I like me more I guess. In sum great stuff Jame
I bought the XL and bought the Gold FCU along with an Icarus hybrid pro grip module along the True Precision Tin coated barrel and 407k. Now it's my favorite EDC. I got rid of my 43x.
I have both a P365 & P365XL with Wilson Combat XL grip modules on both and if I had $1200 to spend all over again it would still be for what I already have. The Spectre is a good looking pistol but not worth $600 more. Maybe $200 more than a XL. Thanks for sharing!
When you shoot a flash suppression test, it would be wise to use a camera that has a global shutter vs rolling shutter. Rolling shutter sensors scan from top to bottom, so depending on the timing of the flash vs where the sensor is in the scan cycle, you may not capture all of the flash, as was depicted here, where the top portion of the flash was cut off in many of the examples.

Yup. That didn't sound like .08 to me, then I realized it was .12 and math isn't James's strength.

Yeah Mike is in love with this new 365
Yep, Mikes review was solid. I’d just want to buy the slide for my normal P365xl, don’t need a whole new gun
@@schulzbrianr I agree
I want it just because of the new rear sight design. I’ll probably try and put the longer barrel in it lol , trying to get my hands on one
Be aware the new gen2 XL only says X on the slide.

What a great point, I'll keep my XL 👍🏽

The side by side break down between the different models was very helpful. I was confused why the specter comp only had a 3.1 in barrel and not a 3.7 like the XL. Thanks for clearing things up!
XL comp is 30 to 40 fps slower.
James, your humor and wit on this one was first class. Thanks for the review.

I could listen to you talk all day. Dahm u NEVER have a shortage of words.
Would love to see a head to head between the Spectre and the Zev 365XL
James, you are such a good bsr. Love the humor mixed real knowledge.

Why the light is just on the comp model? The more weight is part of the reduced recoil and muzzle flip..
I like the way that James simulated cutting onions by making that part of the video completely blurry. Attention to details
I'd rather have the longer barrel. I T&E'd the 365XL against the G48 for my department. I found the 365XL to be extremely manageable in recoil, better than the G48. It doesn't need a compensator. This is cool-bro shit that only has a purpose to drive further sales.
Eh...
Easy choice for me
I put a gold barrel on my P365 and was instantly disappointed in myself. 1200$ is a bit steep for this configuration…I will probably still buy it.
I was gonna get a Faxon threaded barrel, and not gonna lie I debated the flame coloured one for longer than I'm comfortable with.
The Danger Close version is $1500. So, you can buy this for $1200 and save $300 bucks! It is all about perspective, lol.

Sig moved the cover forward, the sights are no longer on the cover AND in the gen 2, they dropped the “L” from the slide, so the newest XL just says X.
The benefit of the P365 XL is the price, while it's more expensive than Glock the P365 has outstanding upgrades in comparison.

@Patrick O'Brien Probably the right answer lol

As I understand it it uses a 3.1 inch barrel...like the standard p365?
Yes it only works with the 3.1 barrels. Talked to Phil S. And because of the barrel tilt they could not use the 3.6 barrel.
So if we wait for a slide for our 365XL we would have to change the barrel to a 3.1?
@@toddtzm yes unless you own a standard p365 or you can buy a barrel.

0:29 Quite the tactic! Flashing your sixpack to blind the enemy before drawing, I always learn something new watching TFB.
One of the best breakdowns I’ve seen.
I really like the look of the Spectre but the 30% reduction in felt recoil, according to Sig, for an extra $600 to $400 depending on which other model of XL you'd want to go with seems a bit high for me. All that said it looks badass and if I see it on sale I'll probably get one.
i just picked mine up a few days ago on sale for 850 couldn’t pass on it
@@emmanuelcarmona5078 You got the spectre with gold barrel and trigger for 850... not the spectre comp... I feel bad for you son 😅
I got a threaded barrel, and put a herrington arms comp on mine. Cheaper, and I'm pretty sure it does the same thing, and looks hella awesome.
Bought my wife the spectre for Mother’s Day. Loved it so much I got one for myself as well. Replaced my edc of over 8 years with it. Did ok on the price for it for $1170 each.
Stock guy too ! can't go wrong with the 365, 365XL except maybe with a holosun and vedder holster
Holosun is the best option for a pistol mounted RDS in that size class right now. Unless you want the overpriced abnormally tall trijicon RMRcc
@@mrsickwick I agree have one on 365XL and another for 2nd on the way. great optic
The fact that the music changed when the lights went low killed me lol.
Thanks for the detailed review. I was already considering the xl but thought if the comp model blew the xl out of the water the price could be justified. Not a fan of the bling, just the performance, so doesn't sound worth it to me.
What do I see in the background? It's a Czech Weapons CSV-9 - review coming up? 😀
What about the ballistics? Like to see a penetration difference between the 3.1” barrel vs 3.6”
It's 3.7inch,, why does everyone say 3.6,, if you want ballistics we need to get the barrel length right
@@DaveandDebe he said it was a half an inch longer. My Fucking bad dude, damn
I'd rather just pay to have my XL ported.
Probably not going wrong either way, which is basically what you said....hahaha
same. Love my XL but id rather just go with a suppressor for it anyways.
Amazing pistol.
Not $600 more than the original, amazing though.
The comp is nice. Nitride coating is nice. Still not worth the extra $600
Picking up a Spectre today, great video man
You can make a comp out of the slide ohh “hold my beer”
“said every after market company in the country “ please hold
Marketing is magic. Ford came out with a tailgate step before GM, and S&W came out with porting with the Shield Performance Center almost a decade ago.
I really want to see a side by side comparison of the Spectre Comp and a P365x with a PMM comp in order to see how much of a difference it makes when the comp is affixed to the barrel or not.
This. This is the comparison everyone wants to know.
Gracias.
Still never gonna buy a gun that keeps firing by itself.
You're getting it confused with the allegations against the 320. To my knowledge, there have been no such allegations about the SIGP 365, and I trust it enough to carry it, no question.
@@tfbtv oh. 👌 Thanks for clarifying.
GREAT review!!! Funny as always but very good info….
I must admit when brother sent me a video of James when I was in market for a new EDC he rubbed me the wrong way but I started to watch his material more often and I kinda realized he reminded me of me so I hate myself when I get up but as day goes on I like me more I guess. In sum great stuff Jame
Great video, love the Comp accuracy section.
The onion test was good.
Answers everything that I'd want to know before buying something.
Awesome review.👍 I’m surprised bond didn’t show up for this one.
I bought the XL and bought the Gold FCU along with an Icarus hybrid pro grip module along the True Precision Tin coated barrel and 407k. Now it's my favorite EDC. I got rid of my 43x.
Same size as the XL so who would give up ballistics for compensation? plus the slide must be a mess to clean after shooting.
This was a really fun review! Thanks for some fun, first thing in the morning.
I like how you have the “Czech 9” as an Easter egg in the background
You are the best review man. Keep up the good work!
I got my xl for 485..$505 out the door..military discount plus 2 15 rounders I wear mostly basketball shorts and sweatpants when it's cold and I appendix carry..I love it
