stick with your XR mate, I love mine, recently did a little trip to Wales and also Plymouth on mine :) loved it. Only issue IMPO with XR is that the seat could be a little more comfortable
Done 16k on tiger 900 and love it. When i update it will iether be the GT 1200 or 1000xr. Only problem is i really didn't like the seat on the xr when i test rode it. Pushes your balls into the tank.
This is why it's hard to take some of these guys seriously. They jump on a bike with no idea of what features it has and then get confused or criticize it unfairly.
I reckon the tiger is actually less snatchy in sport road. No... that makes no sense. Vibes kick in around 5k revs which fortunately is above road speed limit in 6th.
To be fair, some of the issues you were having were because of your unfamiliarity of how the bike's features work. This is not uncommon among TH-cam people that jump on a bike with no orientation. And "shabby brakes"? Not sure how that's possible with that heavy duty Brembo setup on it. 🤷♂️
Only thing that can kill an xr is the new m xr

Re height. You can get the lower GT version and you can also electronically lower the preload further at slow speeds.

Test rode both of them and bought the XR
What about the Yamaha Tracer 9 GT+, keeps getting good reviews, nigh on perfect says some!?
I tried the tracer9 when it came out, great bike but got SO much wind buffering! But its a good shout, werent on my radar.
Ah, I believe the ‘plus’ has the same screen so maybe not, but it does have a gen 3 quick shifter👍😉
Tested some bikes, but non coming close to my XR.
Yea starting to get that feeling!

XR is not good for long distances. Too vibey....too uncomfortable. Cant ride off road with any confidence. Nice motor though.
Not a great bike my fingers were still tingling 40 minutes after my 1 hour demo ride, XR way better bike , and im a GS rider.!!
I guess it affects people in different ways. I can do a solid 5 or 6 hours on the highway, fuel up, then do another 2 or 3 hours without an issue.
