Mate I'm just in the process of trading my 2024 1300 gs on an s1000xr because of the exact same thinking, the quick shifter on the 1300 hundred is just crap, in the first three gears its snatchy, crunchy and down right bloody awful, i just cant live with it

Should ask yu gonna take a bike s1000xr how's the comfort for long drives any suggestions so far?

I’ve done the same but was going much slower. Once you lose that front end you know immediately you are on a road bike. I’m planning on changing the front tyre and doing the odd smooth dirt road. You were wild at the start.

I’ve just bought a bike with the same spec as yours and watching this video…. It is your bike!! I was a little concerned by the mileage for a 2020 but it looks in good nick and the dealer is giving it a full service, incl the 18k service. But I have a question, there are only a couple of BMW dealer stamps in the service book, the last been around 7K so no service record for 10k. Can I ask, how have you been servicing the bike? Sorry to post this message on here but I don’t have any other way to message you..

I have an XR and test rode a GS recently as well as a RNineT and an MXR. The GS was such an easy bike to ride and very familiar to the XR but probably more comfortable but I don’t like the sound and feel of the engine. It was better suited to the RNineT in my opinion. The MXR blew me away but is far too expensive and without panniers, why would you buy it? So I’m now trading in my Gen 1 XR for a Gen 2 and I’m still excited to ride it which is what it’s all about. Btw, I also have a Gen 4 RR so I’m clearly sports bike biased so as ever, buy the bike that makes you want to ride..

I have a monkey, a blue and silver one. Had it for two years. I love it, use it for going to the supermarket when I need to pick up a few things a day little trips out. I also have a couple of bigger bikes as well. The Monkey is so much fun try to get out every mile an hour. 😂

Defo not as fast as the energica, but more speed than id need tbh. Wives are there to stop us having every bike we fancy lol. Price and range still just wrong though..

Cant afford new so looking at this and zero sr a few years old, I read a lot of reports on the zero customer service being pretty poor and issues like water getting into electrics causing major damage maked me lean more towards the energica tbh. Man that thing is fast. Can only afford one bike though and its just for fun so not sure electric is really the way to go but like yhe idea of no gear changes , pure acceleration all the way.... But speed gets old after a while, what matters is how comfy and reliable and usable the bike is i think, as long as its got a kick when you need it.😊

Green all the way...just looking at buying 1 myself tomorrow..only thing is 16k mileage on a 67 plate..

I own a R1250GS Adventure & had a test ride on an XR with a view to swapping, I was told I could have it for about 1 1/2 hrs, after 20 mins I took the XR back as it was the most uncomfortable bike, seat rock hard & cramped riding position, I was glad to get back on my GSA. But obviously not the same for everyone.

BMW's are so extra! Just like the use of star torq bolts. All other manufarturers, you just loosen the two nuts and adjust the rod. But oh no! Not with BMW, you have to remove the bolt and lever.

Why take tje servo off surely just unplug it and plug the eliminator in and job done it stays open?

Any solutions for rattling screen? Of course it happens around most vibs at ~4krpm where plastics starts rattling. When I hold the screen with my hand it goes away. I tried adding more rubber/o-rings at contact point but haven't resolve the problem.

Cool bike but the seat is horrible. I have the K1600GT which is incredible.

How is the seating position got the mt09sp atm an the seating kind of annoys me it forcing me into the tank an crushes.my nuts haha

What kind of tank pads do you use?

Does it make the bike feel more sluggish? Harder to turn in or change direction?

I keep hearing that it won’t clutch up wheelie. Can anyone confirm? Or what mode(s) does it need to be in to lift the front without intrusion.

Here's the S1000XR with the full Akra setup, stock exhaust can with the Akra headers. It's louder than stock, no question, but I don't think it's obnoxiously loud, certainly not below ~6K RPMs. th-cam.com/video/NWJeoeuSImo/w-d-xo.html

I left all my cables in place in case the next person wasn’t happy with the sound. Makes it easier to sell.

Excellent vid. The small bikes are so much fun. I have just as much fun on my Grom than I do on my RR. If you haven't already, check out Ben's Bikes Racing for all Grom,Monkey bikes etc. Fantastic service and advice.

I did this exactly how you guys did it in the video on my '21 XR. Such an improvement in sound, especially when you buzz up the rpm on the road! It feels like it picked up a little power too! Love this bike, thanks for the video guys!

I originally bought a MRA tinted for my ZRX 1200 Kawa in Texas in around 2013. I loved the difference. Now I have one, same sort, on my F900XR TE. The difference over the sport version from BMW anyway, is night and day. Along with hand guards I was out riding today in fairly cool conditions East Midlands UK, didn't even need my warm undies today LOL. It's a very very good solution. I am 6 foot and a bit, tall upper body, works for me :).

Did you have a look at the F900XR? I currently own this bike and absolutly love it.

That plate is to tie down another bag to your top box. I can empathise w/your OCD. :) I am cleaning my white bike as I watch this. :)

Congratulations to your miss on her new bike. But wow that bmw nineT look really nice. I got a nineT as a courtesy bike when my xr went in for the 12k service amd new coils. Really enjoyed the nineT. I'm looking forward to you 18k service video on your xr.

I'm not sure why people still use stand alone sat navs. Google, Waze and Calinoto all much better in every way Also iPhone suck! Never have the camera issue with Samsung

Thats a must have mod. Monkey mods are easy to install. I saw someone change the shocks in about 5 minutes. I almost bought a monkey recently but changed my mind because I dont want 2 slow bikes 😂
