Great review, Matt. This is a bike that I've always been drawn towards and if I wasn't so happy with my 1250GSA it would probably get a look in. Love the sound of the motor. Lack of a proper GPS is a pain (I use mine for countdown distance + time and GPS speed as much as for directions). Turn-by-turn just doesn't cut it, I'm afraid. The integrated BMW Navigator is still the most effective, in my opinion. 20 litre fuel capacity is also not enough. How did it carry it's weight compared to the 1250GSA which, despite being of a similar weight, has an effectively low C of G.
So the rally pro is more inline with your GS and the rally explorer is inline with the gsa. (This one has the 30litre tank) I’ve always been impressed with GS and GSA for how they handle their weight and their flickability. I’d say the rally pro was just as good. I personally hate turn by turn. It’s not accurate enough for me when some roads have multiple turnings close to each other and it’s not clear on which one to take. I hear the new gs1300 has a larger improved screen as well. I’m hoping they’ve brought over the RT 10.25” screen with full maps using bmw app. That would be great.
@@DSR1YT -- mines the GSA (a twin of yours -- year, colour and all). 21" front wheel AND a 30 litre tank would be great!! 🙂🙂🙂 Yes, will be interesting to see how BMW go with their TFT and GPS -- It's still the leader in most ways. Keep 'em coming!!
Thanks Matt, these are a lovely capable bike but a bit tall I found the GT Pro better suited me but ultimately turned to the dark side aka BM…. FYI it has a normal swinging arm previous generation had single sided. 👍
Thanks Les, what I meant with the swinging arm is that it’s all new and called tri-link. Lighter and stronger. GT pro is more manageable on the height side of riding for sure. 😁
@@DSR1YTit is a unique looking swingarm,looks like it absorbs the small bumps on the rear section,and when that has travelled fully goes onto the traditional swingarm movement?im only supposing though.😂
