This is a great idea. Just what I was looking for. I was thinking I'd need to find some Flt boxes to ship flat pieces securely, but this looks great as it can be cut to the exact size required. Thank you.
I love how you reuse everything. Thank you for showing us! When I started, I used to do that but it got to the point that it was taking too long cutting cardboard, so I now order them precut. I also don’t get big enough cardboard anymore and the ones I do get are bent or very dirty.
This has to be the best one yet!!! I saw something similar on a blog but this is way better, I love how you wrap it up after... this looks very affordable too! Thank you so much.
Hi really helpful video. I am just starting out with artwork comissions. Have you ever shipped abroad and if you have how have you found that in terms of shipping cost and unsurance etc? Thanks 👍
I also re-use sturdy cardboard that larger products get delivered in. I agree about being better for the environment. I do pretty much the same process as you lol. do you buy the cellophane in a roll? I have sleeves of various sizes.
It’s a great, free option and it would be a shame not to re-use it 😁 I do yes! I find it easier as I can just buy the one roll and use it for everything, I’ve actually started using biodegradable film now I’ll drop you a link: www.transpack.co.uk/home-compostable-cellophane-wrap-clear-50m Thank you😊
Where do you order your business cards from and the personalised paper you write messages on? Where can I get that film you put over your art at the beginning? Where can I get parcel paper?
I get my business cards from solopress but you can get them from loads of different websites, I just design and print out the notes myself! I use eco film now from transpack: www.transpack.co.uk/home-compostable-cellophane-wrap-clear-50m And parcel paper you can get from eBay or Amazon!
The card board I tend to re-use from packages I receive, or you can buy sheets if you need to 😊 I buy the film from here as I prefer plastic free: www.transpack.co.uk/home-compostable-cellophane-wrap-clear-50m
For my portraits it usually falls under the small parcel category but for prints and cards it’s often large letter! You’re best measuring your parcel to make sure ☺️
Thankfully that’s never happened to me so far with Royal Mail Special Next Day but you can set a value for the parcel to the amount the artwork is worth and receive compensation if it’s lost. Worst comes to worst you’d have to redo the artwork but hopefully it wouldn’t come to that!
@@shannonmullin oh wow. So you don’t just take it to a post office? 😬 just that I’ve had some one message me from US for first time. I only normally do local people. Not setup for Mail orders in the UK let alone US 😂
@@RobMillwardPodgekins88 I used to but since the Royal Mail had that international cyber attack I’ve been a bit wary! It’s a bit more complex doing it through transglobal express as you need to find out what your EORI number is so if it’s your first time I’d maybe try the post office! I think they’ve just been taking longer than usual to arrive ☺️
How much does the shipping cost usually?? Shipping is so expensive it seems when I print out labels from home .. if it’s cheaper to just drop it off at the post office I will just do that idk lol
Shipping in the UK costs me around £8 as I go with the special next day service to be safe and international could be anything between £15 - £30 depending on the country ☺️
Shannon I know you “mount” your work For your customers before sending it away. But I have a rookie question. What really does that mean? Do you mind explaining that to a beginner? Thank you so much
Hey yes I have! I send with Royal Mail to the US and it usually costs somewhere around £20-£30 depending on the size. I charge the international customers extra for the delivery just to cover the costs. I always make sure to get the tracked delivery to be safe ❤️ And make sure your parcel is extra secure with extra packaging if need be, just because it's going to be handled a lot more going oversees ☺️
It’s different every time depending on the size, I just pop it on the scale at the post office, but you can weigh it with a kitchen scale to check the exact weight of your parcel ☺️

Hi! I'm wondering when you ship your parcels using royal mail, do you choose 'large letter' or 'small parcel'? Thanks!

Did you print your artwork and then sell it

Can you just not use ready made cellophane bags as they are cheap, i do for my A3 prints
@@marklola12 of course! Whatever you find easiest, I’ve started using those now as I managed to source some plastic free ones ☺️
Have customers ever had an issue opening this? Seems like they could accidentally cut into the print
No I’ve never had any issues! Just make sure you leave enough space between the outside edge and the artwork 😊

I think it means putting the artwork on another, firmer piece of paper/card or whatever. idk don't take my word for that
To mount an artwork, normal means to put a Matt surround and backing on it (if a small piece it’s normally foam core).
Do you use free acid tape?
For anything on the drawings / mount I do but for the outer packaging I don’t ☺️
@@shannonmullin thank you for your answer. 😎
Does your price coymr in with the shipping
