- Hi guys, today I will be reacting to the first Arc in The Clone Wars series - The Battle of Christophsis.
I have been super excited to begin this series and at first was unsure which way to view it. After speaking with you amazing fans and huge Star Wars lovers I decided to watch it, not only chronologically but also in the story Arcs. I was told that this would be a better viewing experience, not only for myself but for a reaction channel.
The episodes in the first Arc are:
The Battle of Christophsis
Season 2 Episode 16 - Cat and Mouse.
Season 1 Episode 16 - Hidden Enemy.
The Clone Wars - 2008 Movie.
I have watched them all and edited them together in 1 video so please let me know if this works for you.

Couple things I want to mentione:
- The narrator was meant to emulate the news reels of the 1940's that would show updates about WW2 before feature films in movie theaters. The "Fortune Cookie" quotes at the start of each episode were at the suggestion of George Lucas.
- Obi Wan is voiced by James Arnold Taylor, a very talented voice actor.
- The episodes many times mimic notable or famous movies/scenes/TV shows of the past as an homage.
Recently the narrator, Tom Kane, who also plays Admiral Yularen, Yoda and others, suffered a stroke and is no longer working. Really heartbreaking let’s send out thoughts to Tom Kane.

Something interesting to note, Dave Filoni actually knew what he was doing with Ahsoka right off the bat. Introducing a Padawan Jedi into a team of classic and well-loved characters was already going to be polarizing, so rather than try to make people like her Dave intentionally makes her annoying. That way, he has a greater control of your opinion of her and can use that to begin developing her character throughout the story into someone the fanbase clearly loves

Yep, I think the general consensus is that the show gets progressively better up until about halfway through season 3, which is the point at which it just absolutely takes off
You'll notice that Anakin has been promoted to Jedi Knight.
Also, as this runs 7 seasons, the animation gets better over time.

@@SofaandChill Yeah, it starts off a bit more kiddie but by the end, and this is not an exaggeration, it becomes some of the best Star Wars content ever made.

Fun fact: The whole series of Star Wars The Clone Wars season 1-7 takes a total "66" Hours. of Watch time. in reference to "Order 66".

@@SofaandChill What sucked me into the whole franchise was the mythology. It's such a huge "universe" that's been created....and the characters are fantastic.
Obi Wan's and Anakin's individual stories are almost Shakespearean in a way. There are quite a few fan films that have compiled each character's stories together and will leave you choked up at minimum.

Its honestly one of the best content star wars has to offer, sure the first season is a bit childish, the and animation isnt too great either, but it gets much better later on and its really worth watching, adds a lot of depth to the movies.

I think doing the arcs in chronological order is the best way to do it for TH-cam. If you do them one by one it'll take you years (multiple) to get through clone wars and rebels doing one a week or even two per week. The arcs are easier to follow in one sitting and makes more sense. Stoked that you're doing the shows, it'll pay off multiple times but especially at the end of the shows and Mandalorian Season 2
Hi Andrew, I'm so pleased I decided to it this way also. The Arcs will not only be great for me but they come across really well for a reaction channel and I've been told that not a lot of reactors do it this way.
I'm loving the show also which really helps and cannot wait to see all of the character development

Came for Anakin, stayed for Ahsoka. The moment Anakin accepts Ahsoka as his padawan is quintessential Star Wars to me, says I.
She is such a great character and I can tell she is going to be one of my all time favourites :)
Ventress is Dooku’s assassin and secretly his apprentice that he’s not supposed to have. I recommend watching 2D Clone Wars micro series, which was recently put on Disney+. It’s not canon but it’s a great watch and it gives you things this show doesn’t, because technically this show is a follow up to it. It gives Ventress a better introduction, and it shows Anakin being made a jedi knight.
Also shows where Anakin gets the scar.
It was canon before the 3d series, especially given the end of the last episode and the start of revenge of the sith, and grevious's cough. But I can understand why it was changed. I read somewhere that it still could be canon if carefully inserted into the 3d series here and there where it makes sense.
Fun fact: There's a pink droid seen sitting next to R2-D2 in the clone wars movie named R2-KT. She's named/created for a girl named Katie who died of cancer. Her father founded the 501st legion fan organization
I think the "arc edit" is a great idea. Can't wait for the next one, it's one of my favs.

To explain the scar, Anakin's a risk taker in battle, and does the job on his own sometimes to make sure his troops aren't in danger.

The story of Anakin’s scar may have only been mentioned in the novels. I believe he received it from Assaj Ventress during a duel.
Another thing to note in this series is that Anakin no longer is Padawan. During the early days of the war, the Council rushed his promotion to Jedi Knight. This is covered in the Clone Wars 2D micro series.

The one to give anakin his scar was ventress. They have fought back at the beginning of the war when anakin was still a padawan

Interesting bit of trivia 'Admiral Yularen' is supposed to be one of the background characters in Star War Episode IV.
Just remember the Clone Wars gets *better* as it goes on.

Yeah I'm really pleased that I decided to do it this way. I am loving it but don't want to drag it out for. 2 years as there is so much content out there to watch. From what I'm gathering the CW's just gets better and better with every episode, so pleased I've started it
@@SofaandChill I wouldn't say every "better with every episode". Seasons 1-3 are kind of a roller coaster ride in terms of quality and deciding what the show wants to be. You get some arcs that are really good, and some that are really "meh."
But after S4 you can tell that Dave Filoni really started to get the hang of what he's doing, tightening up his writing and deciding on what the show should be.
And by the end... well... by the end I think TCW is better than the prequels.
@@dernwine It isn't just better than the prequels. It makes the prequels themselves better by smoothing over plot wrinkles, filling in holes, and giving a lot more character development. Filoni saved Star Wars then, just like I believe he's saving it now.

29:05 it’s called a Hyperspace Ring, many of the Jedi and Clone Starfighters aren’t capable of jumping into hyperspace like the larger ships or say, the Millenium Falcon, so these Rings can connect to their starfighters so they can. In the movie, Obi-Wan used it to go to both Geonosis and Kamino.
For those wondering, ships like the a and x wing are notable for being such small fighters with hyperdrives built it. Whereas tie fighters don’t have any. This gives advantages to the rebels fleet, and allowing successful ambushes
@@turinturambar1688 true, also many of the Clone and Jedi starfighters were early war, but later war ones like the ARC-170 and Z-95 Headhunter did have built in Hyperdrives.
@@incogni-bro8276 I mostly was commenting with the tactics used, as ships without hyperdrive would be carried into battle, the time that the hanger opens and the fighters deployed wasn’t an issue for star fighters with hyperdrive capability that could jump alongside the cruiser, starting battle instantly.

Everyone who enjoys the CW can agree that all the clones become ur brothers and over time it feels like ur one of the clones as the series goes on , fighting side by side with the Jedi generals the clones truly become beloved and each eventual loss in battle leaves a small wound in the viewer , hope to see more full arcs on ur channel u just got ur self a sub my friend

Oh man....here we go! Glad you're invested now. When Ahsoka first appeared, she wasn't well liked. But there are a few episodes where she learns some humility and starts to grow into one of the greatest characters ever created (just MY opinion).
Even Ventress is a fan favorite (Yes. She sticks around for a while and has a few story arcs of her own😁). Some say this is a "kid's show" with some of the clunky dialogue and all....and I get it. But, the plots and story arcs can be pretty brutal.
I've burned through this series 3 times on my own and LOVE watching new fans get further and further invested in the show and the characters. I'll be here for every bit of your reactions to this series. Wouldn't miss it!

I had never heard of Ashoka before so wasn't sure what to expect but I liked her straight away. Yes she back chatted Anakin a few times which probably wound up a few people but I thought they bounced well off each other. It's only been since the premiere tonight that I have really seen what she means to people, its crazy lol.
Really pleased I'm going to get to see more of her progression as well as that bitch Ventress lmao.

An interesting tidbit about the battle droids in the series is they made them a bit dumber for comedic purposes, but in universe this is actually a cost of having to produce them in such numbers that they can battle all over the galaxy. They went for quantity over quality
Also something else really cool is that it's 3D Models with Painted Coloring
Have to say absolutely delighted you have chosen to watch the clone wars most people who do Star Wars and the marvel style movies are just doing it to try and get their accounts up on their channels but occasionally you do have a few people who do start to get an interest in the Star Wars universe have to say I like when this happens. As for Ahsoka Tano I guarantee you by the end of you finishing the clone wars she will be one of your absolute favourite Star Wars characters.
Hi Russell, thanks for the comment mate it's really appreciated. One of the main things I wanted to make sure was that I have the series my all. Star Wars has such a huge fan base and I would never dream of putting it on the channel just to get subscribers or viewers. Star wars fans have been so helpful and active while helping guide me through the correct way of viewing and they can see I have an genuine love for it.

The movie was essentially 3 episodes stitched together. It wasn't the best plan, but the distribution company that would carry the episodes wanted something big to kick off the show. So that's why it was a bit disjointed.
- The music was kind of a cluster. In the early days, the show was searching for its identity and the score was as well.
The circle thing on Obi-Wan's ship is a Hyperdrive ring. His Jedi starship isn't equipped with a hyperdrive because it's just a close combat vessel.
It's really cool and I definitely saw that in attack if the clones....just not sure when lmao
Samuel L. Jackson and Christopher Lee actually reprised their roles for this movie, Mace Windu and Count Dooku then went on to be voiced by different actors who gave terrific performances as well

this is not a spoiler it is all ready among star wars fans even when the show got canceled In 2013 but then have season 7 in 2020. Ahsoka survived order 66.

@@SofaandChill oh yes, character development. Something the sequel movies lacked. The initial shit baggery was done intentionally, and the maturation is really one of the best stories to come out of the entire saga
This is the weakest of the arcs (the film) in my opinion. The stories and animation get better and better every season.

Also, doing it the Arc way is certainly a new way of doing it from the reactors I've seen, so this looks fun.
And it makes me happy to hear you like Ahsoka as a character, because when she first was introduced, a lot of fans disliked her, but she grew on people and now she is actually considered a fan favorite. So if you like her character now, you're gonna LOVE her character by the end of season 7, believe me.

Not to spoil things, but yes, Dooku and Anakin duel several times during the Clone Wars before they meet for the final time in ROTS.
Yeah I could tell it wasn't their first time at the rodeo. That's great to know as it's quite exciting when they are going at it
I know it's common knowledge, but Ahsoka was the best subversion of expectations I've seen in the Star Wars universe. She started out as this insufferable kid that everyone was furious about saying it was a retcon, etc. And yet she has become so important to the Skywalker saga, one of the most beloved characters in the franchise, and I don't think that Anakin's turn to the dark side makes that much sense without her now
I hope everyone appreciates the effort you’re putting in to go through all of them in order. I certainly do. Also the entire clone wars series gets long but please please do it to the end. It’s an incredibly powerful series

I love that you already seem to be enjoying the show👍🏻 The highs this show reaches are amazing (it does have some lows tho) and especially towards the end there will be more and more highs! Season 4 is where the show really finds its footing but about halfway through season 3 the legendary Arcs start that enrichen the universe and our knowledge of the force, the clones and the jedi so much that it can be hard to imagine watching the movies without that knowledge:D it somehow manages to take these amazing movies and give them context that just elevates them to another level!

Fact, the arcs are not all in chronological order. One in season 2 takes place before season 1.

The storyline get better and better as the seasons progress and by season 7 you'll be floored - by the story & the animation.
For myself, after watching The Clone Wars, the way I view Revenge of the Sith is completely different. I also shed tears when Yoda dies in Return of the Jedi.
TCW will give you so much background during this time in the Saga. It's worth it to watch it all. 😊

To answer the question "How did Anakin get the scar?", you need to watch Star Wars Clone Wars season 1. That is the cartoon. This show is called Star Wars The Clone Wars, it has 7 seasons and 1 movie. The cartoon has 2 seasons, S1 is set just after episode II and S2 is immediately before episode III.
In S1 Anakin cuts of his rats tail after becoming a Jedi Knight. Would you believe that Padme keeps it in a box?
At the end of S2 General Grievous is injured by Mace Vindu, this is why Grievous breathes funny in episode III.
The strong villain in S1 is half organic and robotic and can regenerate.

Also GL once joked Anakin got his scar because he fell in the shower lol. In the 2003 version of tcw Anakin got his scar from ventress but that technically isn't canon anymore.

Looks like we'll have 39 videos of this (that's how many arcs there are). How often will you be bringing them out?
It all depends on the length mate, I wont just do 1 episode and release that. Next week the second Arc has 2 parts but the second 1 is in a few arc time so I have also done the 3rd Arc which consists of 2 episodes and I will release them all on Sunday. They are only 20 minutes long so I can edit a few :)
