Welcome to iTripReport's flight reviews, which I focus on reviewing both the soft product and hard product of airlines around the globe. The Hawaiian Airlines lounges at HNL have a dentist's office waiting room vibe. I usually avoid them and stay in the Main terminal.
I was on the same flight with you.. Overall, I thought the crew did well. They were there for all of our needs. Hawaiian has some of the most friendly crew and staff in all of our travels. I will say, that the 1-2-1 seating was a bit on the smaller side compared to some of the other airlines we flew on. Air Lufthansa has some of the largest cabin spaces with a lot more leg room. But in all, the customer service was great!
The salt and pepper packet made it worth watching🤣
I have not flown HA's 787, but always fly HA whenever I travel to Hawaii. They are truly no ka oi and the aloha spirit shines through. Their FAs all look like they truly love their jobs and their customer service is very accommodating. I look forward to flying their 787 1st Class someday very soon! I know I will be like you - enjoying it so much that I wish the flight was longer. 👍

Definitely, the interior design was over the top, from integrating the company colors on the lightning, to the wood & flowers details, make you feel you are flying Hawaiian airlines. Never flown Hawaiian, but now is on my bucket list. Love your videos! 👏🏽
I have flown on the ANA 787-9 a number of times and wow, what an aircraft. I would love to just go back and forth on the plane.

Without a doubt, the 787 is my favorite plane.
Hawaian’s new B787s look amazing, especially the sunset theme mood lightning, that was soo exotic and hope more airlines get creative like this. Thank you for sharing this trip report!

First class looks gorgeous. I hate the configuration on economy though. I loved the 2-4-2 of the airbus.
I have to agree whole-heartedly that this cabin is a massive upgrade from their A330's. I've taken one from HNL -> LAX sometime ago and it was great, but this 787 would be a HUGE improvement to their long-haul service. From the moment you stepped on-board, to the cabin walk throughs, and detailed explanations; I had already fallen in love. Hawaiian just know how to do things right. To their hospitality, livery design, comfort, and so much more; there is an easy explanation as to why they are one of my favorite airlines. Here's to more blue skies in HA's future, and I can't wait to try this beautiful aircraft!

This was a great review of Hawaiian Airlines new 787. I would hope that one day that I would fly this particular 787. Anyway, great review.
People who complain about Hawaiian airlines food should really think about what other domestic airlines are giving out nowadays. They give a cookie or a pretzel. At least hawaiian gives a sandwich and even free alcoholic drink
It is a shame that the standards for US travel are this low, but even then Hawaii does excel in this area. Economy gets more on this 5 hour flight than I've had on the 6.5hrs transcons on the big 3.
Agreed if you ever take air Canada or domestic flights in Canada no food or drinks. I had to beg for fucking water

We fly Hawaiian about 2 to 3 round trips SFO-HNL a year I have to say I wish we had more trips, however, all the crew members are always fantastic.

Congrats on your 1st inaugural Hawaiian airlines, Boeing 787-9 flight to San Francisco in 2024, hope your 1st inaugural Hawaiian airlines, Boeing 787-9 flight to San Francisco went well. I wish Hawaiian airlines newest, Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner have free wifi, external camera, air vent and lavatory inside the plane on, but it was disappointed that they don't install it.
WiFi is eventually planned for them. Although I do agree, the lack of air vents is very bothering, especially during the hot Hawaiian days

You should do a tripreport on the new TIJ-PHX route by AA. I haven't seen it covered yet and you seem to be the go to content creator for these lesser known Mexico - US flights

We all did! Got a chance to talk to him a few minutes too. Almost the entire flight was all avgeeks socializing with each other, with crews casually eavesdropping and joining conversations when able

Ive been flying on their 330s for years so im excited to fly the 87 in may when i go to Hawaii. Especially in first class. Im getting the brisket!

I am so disappointed with Hawaiian airlines lounge. The lounge should really pop! This is there hub and the lounge in my opinion should rival it’s competition.

Great video. Thanks for doing it. You had asked for suggestions. I have one. Keep you liquid drinks away from your computer. Turbulence at the wrong time may cause you to have to replace a soaked keyboard and, perhaps, a fried computer, too.

Hello everyone, great day for Hawaiian Airlines, but with me personally, as a former tour bus driver for a major Tour and Transportation company on Oahu, there is 'no love lost' whatsoever between myself and the Sheraton Waikiki. I have had BAD experience multiple times transporting people to and from the Sheraton Waikiki, mainly with that schmuck at the podium in the bus depot right by the half flight of stairs by the latrines and that leads to the lobby. With Hawaiian Airlines, however, I am so excited for an upcoming trip in August, HNL to LAX on the new 787/9 that I booked in FIRST CLASS, YIPPIE!!!!!
Make sure when you check in if you are in first class, check in with the first class check-in counter as you enter the terminal lobby immediately to your right. The HA personnel are extremely friendly, helpful, and full of aloha!

I wonder where else they'll fly their 787s as they arrive. Possibly LA? Seattle (due to the Alaska merger)? New York JFK (again, due to Alaska merger, they could connect with American)?
LA is set to be the second route, followed by Phoenix... I'm sure we'll see this one make its way to Japan and Boston soon though.

I guess they are trying out the plane on the shorter route and work out any bugs before flying to east coast that will be 10 hour flight. So far nothing available for 787 in 2025 to east coast yet.
Thats what I believe. I'm sure they'll be slowly loading it up on the schedule for 2025 later this year
Ha ha, did you coordinate with QFS to both do Hawaii videos this week? Ah yes, The 787 is so much nicer than the A330. The A330 cabin is looking very tired, especially with the prices their charging. I last flew Hawaiian last fall Vegas to Maui on A321neo. Nice cabin, nice crew. I prefer the A321 over the A330 but looking forward to the 787 coming to Vegas😎
Rumour has it that they will start daily flights to London via Los Angeles and return home via Los Angeles soon..
If those rumors are true... they have the opportunity to have the best experience between London and LA... except for Virgin

I hate both herringbone seat configurations, it’s very difficult to look out the window normally or take photos/video, also the mention the more crammed economy class seats.

Fingers crossed that today's U.S. Senate Boeing "whistle-blower" worries about 787 fuselage assembly do NOT result in any "unprogrammed midair disassemblies."
