pretty sure its leading up to a sequel with the whole kenjaku build up but if they actually wrap EVERYTHING up in 2 chapters.. lets just say there wont be a jjk2 or any upcoming manga from gege after this
I think its pretty overhated tbh, it gave a pretty good conclusion to some of the character, and even tho it hurts to say, Gege did well by keeping Gojo dead. 8/10
i think any ending will feel dissapointing no matter what it is, in a way having no ending can be the best ending possible, leaving our mind to wonder how would things go if the manga was continued
it seems gege originally planned JJK to be a short 30-50 chapter fight manga. i think he take the shonen deal to challenge himself maybe he'll get better as times go on, but since chapter 100s you can already tell gege starting to give up on JJK and really gave up as the manga continues.
it feels like he only continue because of the contract he signed with shonen jump, maybe in one of the deal is that Gege needs to make JJK at minimum 250 chapters.
I think people don't understand just how important an ending actually is, especially since the ending of a series is arguably the biggest factor in making a series worth recommending in the future. For example, now that this ending has happened in JJK, I am pretty sure that in the future all it will ever really be recommended for is the fights and nothing more.
Nah, I disagree, people are way more bias than that I would agree if Bleach didn’t exist, but since it does that’s not what’s gonna happen For a while people are going to be talking about JJK as if it’s mid and that’s it but I PROMISE you eventually when a new gen anime comes out people are gonna switch up and act like they always loved JJK, I’ve seen this behaviour happen time and time again People used to say Bleach fell off after the first few arcs then when it started trending and getting popular again people switched up as if they loved these arcs from jump, it doesn’t help that a mappa adaptation of S3 is coming out eventually, if it looks good, people will switch up 🤷🏿♂️
@@RyomenAyeni225bruh no one switched up, almost all bleach fans that got into bleach after TYBW I talked to say the OG anime is underwhelming and Tybw is only worth it. Let me have my insight on this On the heian era flashback, it's a big fumble for gege Idk the 5 void generals ngl All the backstory you said is pretty much the heian era flashback I think yuki was just used as a plot device Idc about hakari not having a development, he's already cool though minus points for not defeating uraume I guess kashimo was pointless, though I liked his talk with sukuna when he died I don't really care about the culling games barrier because I forgot about it I'm 50/50 on yujo, because yeah there should have been a consequence but Rika was just too op again Megumi should be braindead Gojo not having a funeral is absolutely atrocious Choso talk with yuji when dying was the proper send off for me, plus yuji was the only person that cared for him Deus ex from what I heard is something that is completely impossible to happen but still happens anyways for plot convenience, I don't think nobaras return was deus ex considering Nobara using soul resonance on sukunas finger was always in my mind on the start of shinjuku, I was a Nobara coper, though it still was an asspull Thought kenjaku being alive was supposed to be a comedic thing because of takabas doing, of wanting to have a partner which he got Usa military are fodders Clan wars in jjk Part 2 maybe...? No...? That sucks... Heian era clans would probably be explained in the heian era flashback Binding vows were explained but I think your referring to what sukuna had to lose to use a binding vow Idk about the black box thing, thought it was just used to censor furnace Jjk phantom parade main characters should have been used in the real jjk man But if you're talking about other countries, I think it's already explained because the USA didn't even know what curses are, only Japan knows
way before the ending i had problems with the series like Kenjaku was taken out way to easily , nothing came of the merger , Nobara coming back after not doing shit for 50 % of the series as and getting a critical hit out on Sukuna that was unearned , Megumi not living up to his hype , Hakari vs Uraume being skipped , no heian era flashback , Tabakas fight with Kenjaku while entertaining was waste of time , Yuta surviving getting hit by the world slash , Rika magically getting RCT to heal Yuta even though its never been specified or shown that she is shikigami and has RCT before
I found it frustrating that the conditions of binding vows are almost never explained when a character makes one, which they made one all the time during the showdown.
@@thejosh2116it was never really shown in depth outside of Miwa vowing to never swing a sword again, but they were really just a catch-all system that Gege used to explain away Sukuna's changing levels of strength during his fights. We never even once got to see what happens if you break a Binding Vow or if that's even possible for someone like Sukuna himself to do.
yuta never got hit by a world slash? Rika is a cursed spirit (technically) so she's always had the ability to use RCT. Nobara case is silly. Megumi got so fucked at the end, like read 266 it's so goooooooooooooooooood. Heian era flashback is so unnecessary it's crazy.
Here’s a bit of a correction. Luffy was never supposed to beat the warlords to end the manga since that was a concept that Oda made up along the way. It was the Yonko that was always supposed to be the end game. That is what he had planned for the prototype One Piece, Romance Dawn.
While today's JUMP mangaka are struggling to write a single decent finale, NiSiOiSiN wrote three perfect finales for each of the three main characters of Medaka Box.
6:25 whoa, that was a lot of misinformation. Oda had the idea of the Four Emperors long before he thought of the Seven Warlords (not the other way around like you suggested). In fact, he's stated that creating the Warlord system is what caused the story to accidentally grow so large in scale. He never received any pressure from editors to artificially extend One Piece at the five-year mark Grand Line Review even has an entire video explaining it called "This Is Why One Piece Is So Long"
This. He literally started with a 5 year plan and the emperors were the opponents. Most of the bloat came from the Shichibukai, who "were too cool not to add". Same with the super rookies, he added them because he felt like the Sabaody arc otherwise lacked interesting characters. He didn't expect them to become such pivotal players. I don't remember a single interview or anything where he said that an editor told him to do x or stuff like that. Look in difference at Toriyama's debacle with Cell. The androids were supposed to be the main bad guys, but the editor told him no, they're not final villain material. So he made Cell, whose insectoid appearance was also not approved of, so he made Semi-perfect cell, but had to bring in perfect Cell earlier because the editor thought he looked stupid. Nothing like that exists about One Piece. Heck, and I don't see why it would be neccessary considering OP is a huge juggernaut in Japan and Oda likes widening his story's scope on his own constantly.
Fr this man is trying to put stuff out to justify Jjk having a shitty ending "ppl praise Bleach and Naruto for their endings" lmfao where? They still get trashed is just that in comparison to JJk and Mha endings, they were a bit better
honestly i think it really boils down to the weekly shonen format being utterly unsustainable in the long term. no matter how good an author is, they're bound to burn out, suffer health problems, mental problems, all while the magazine's priority is to keep popular series' running for as long as possible. of course series do suffer from their own individual problems, and i feel like jjk had a big priority shift where starting with the culling games, it lost a lot of interest in its cast. there would be occasional moments of characters working through their emotions, but largely it treated them mainly as spectacle for action. which i suppose is fine in theory for an action series, but after so many fans grew attached to the series because of the characters and looking forward to seeing where their arcs would go, it really does suck that most of them didnt really go anywhere or didnt get enough attention to develop. gojo being unsealed from the box is a really good encapsulation of this. he's psychologically the same and shows little emotion at learning one of his students is nearly dead and the other, his own adopted ward, is taken over, brushing it off with a joke about how he'll be fine punching his face in, then fights sukuna for several months real time and dies. while we do get a nice send off with him reuniting with people important to him, it really does feel like the manga just does not care about the relationships and emotions of these characters anymore, and its a big let down for many because thats WHY they liked the series.
Yep. I don't have much knowledge of the industry but it sounds like most mangas end horribly because of how stressful and toxic the work culture is, especially for Shonen
Here's the thing tho, JJK was never great. The series showed signs of potential at first, but it never really did anything to follow up on that after the Shibuya Incident arc showed just how the series valued action and shock value over substance and proper storytelling. It was never going to amount to anything, and the only people who ever hyped the series up were the Gojo fanboys or the anime onlys who were obsessed with the animation.
Here’s another thing, maybe u Gege glazers should stop trying to sugarcoat jjk every time u see a video abt it, the series was never even close to decent, shibuya wasn’t good, it was unfiltered fight slop

JJKs ending has felt like a bus ride home where all the stops are right before your house. Even though you're closer to the end than you were before, the journey keeps getting interrupted every 10 seconds and is taking longer than ever to reach a destination you have seen coming down the road
Where are you getting this information from? Oda hasn't ever said he's been forced to continue to write one piece. Instead Oda always says he came up with an idea and so the story had to be extended. Even with the point you bought Oda has talked about it never did he say he was told to add it or force in any way to extend his story. He chooses himself to extend his story. Your spreading misinformation.
Yeah. Oda consistently said that the world grew, not "they forced me to write stuff." In fact, he attributed most of the bloat to the shichibukai, a group he created and then really wanted to have in the setting because they were too cool not to add. The super rookies were created in a short time because *he* thought the arc didn't have enough interesting characters, and he didn't expect them to become such huge players in the story. I don't remember a character or plot point even having been forced onto him by an editor or publisher. Oda just loves writing stuff.
The ending wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t good either. It just left a lot to be desired. That’s why I think it was honestly just a mediocre ending. There’s nothing wrong with that, but at the same time, there’s nothing great about it either

5:59 Jojo's bizarre adventure is the gold standard for manga endings, no other series (IN MY OPINION) has been able consistently stuck the landing on complexity of the scope and ambition that Hirohiko Araki’s attempted. With each part giving the reader a satisfying conclusion, which is probably the hardest part to write of any manga series. As well as it needs more recognition as Shonen Jump success story when it comes to handling side characters and plot lines/points. However, I can’t say I necessarily dislike or really hate any manga endings as much as some choose to do, it always comes back to respecting the author/mangaka for me. By trying to understand what they were trying to do with their ending and their limitations to acknowledge the value of the entertainment/interest they have provided me. But some are better than others and I love the endings in JJBA, so I prefer to focus more on appreciating that.
Wtf are you talking about, Jojo's is horrible at handling plot lines, it had become so bad there is an entire meme about how "Araki Forgot" And even if that was not the case One Piece is infinitely better at landing endings to each story arc and its significantly more complex than Jojo cause One Piece is a continuining story.
@@garbageposter1775 everything i said is without a doubt true. Its not even opinionated i didnt even say which i like more everynight was just blatant fax Edit: I did say which I like more but other than that it was just the truth
I think there's a couple of other major factors too. Usually by the end of one of these serializations, the mangaka is worn out and ready to be done, so when they see the end in sight, they get tunnel vision on ending it so they can stop drawing for a while. The other thing is a seeming lack of understanding about the difference between a climax and a conclusion. One major theme for these manga are the battles themselves and the conflict with the villains. So once the big bad is defeated, they feel like there's no more story to write since there's no conflict. Novels understand this better though. A classic example is Lord of the Rings. They don't just have one little scene after the ring is destroyed (spoilers lol), there are about five different epilogues tying up loose ends and answering questions.
I remember reading a manhwa called The Breaker. I really hate the ending when the master betrayed his apprentice trust by crippling him to not be able to practice martial arts anymore. He turned his own student that loved and trusted him from zero to hero to zero again. Imagine if All Might did that to Deku. 😢
@@iwantherblood Hell Nah, Izuku Working at a McDonald's kinda fits him anyway, BUT SUKUNA SAYING THAT IF HE HAD ANOTHER CHANCE, HE WOULD BE GOOD? OH HELL NAH
I agree with you, mainly on how that of editors in Manga companies can be the main reason behind a lot of good manga’s kinda just struggling when Mangaka’s already have an ending all planned out however because the series is so popular and is making a lot of money editors and publishing companies can do a lot to ruin a good series. I still like the ending of MHA as somebody who was getting into writing this series kinda was one of my inspirations so I may seem a little biased. However, the characters is what basically drove me to enjoy the series. My only concern about the ending is that Deku is still able to be a hero and the ending delivered on that for me, I won’t lie. There is still a lot of things that I wish that it could’ve done better, but it still ended off on a good note for me. I could really care less about the shipping. As for JJK’s ending, my problem is how the past chapters basically set up so much stuff that was going to happen in the world, but basically felt like a horrible pointless payoff because none of it meant nothing don’t get me wrong. The series is amazing when it comes to action and it’s one of the best when it comes to a power system, which a lot of Shonen’s either struggle to make it make sense or consistent enough to make things feel new. Also keeping things logical within the system. JJK does that however what it lacks in is basically making characters likable to feel invested into them outside three or four characters in the story I like the others I could really not care less about if we had more time with them know about their backstory more then I would actually feel something for them, but unfortunately that’s not gonna happen since they even confirmed that we’re not gonna get a sequel series which is a shame still an amazing series just had a hard time sticking the landing that’s all. But all the same Shonen anime and manga truly do struggle a lot either the perfected or not it depends on the reception and personally I feel like it’s the fan’s fault for that. They put so much and expectations on an ending that when they don’t get what they want or answers are not given they basically turn on the creator and call it trash personally it’s not fair to the mangaka and it’s not fair to those who truly like the ending though but of course we’re in an age where nostalgia, outrage and simple mindedness rules over our culture. It’s to be expected to be honest.
Funny enough, I talked to my friend, who was into MHA before me, that it feels like this is gonna end in a "We're the greatest heroes," just looking at how they propped up the problems with All Might. No one man could have carried the weight of the world. Like, in my head there was no way the status quo of having just one person shoulder being number one was gonna happen with how Horikoshi was setting up the characters.
I agree with this except the fight against Shigi didn’t echo this. It was just “wait for Deku” nobody had any meaningful contributions to the fight. If they would have all been chipping away at him through the entire course of the fight with everyone making fairly equal contributions I think it would have fit better.
@@speeddevil4040that's because they spread their forces to many villains, they're not yet united like in chapter 421-422. Anyway without eraser and monoma it would've been worse to think there's no contribution at all from others is absurd. What about gentle, la brava and nagant.
@@yoru8815 Gentle and La Brava didn’t fight Shigi, notice I said “if they were all chipping away at him” meaning I’m specifically talking about the fighters in this here. I Notice Eraser’s and Monamas contributions but that isn’t my complaint. My complaint is: It feels like they are not allowed to even hurt him without Deku. It’s like playing DnD and your party has done everything in their power to make a plan against the BBEG only for him to be immune to everyone’s damage except the DM’s Favorite NPC. It’s like…why are we even here? Especially since he’s shown he can fight him by himself.
@@speeddevil4040 you do notice that even deku doesn't do any damage right? The most he can do is preventing him to touch anything thus they are remain airborne and only use blackwhip. Not a single thing anyone can do against Shigaraki at this state.
JJK was ruined the minute Gege forced a tournament arc, this series didn't need it at all and he cornered the story even more by having Sukuna and Gojo be OP
It’s fascinating how the endings of beloved manga can spark such intense reactions. I think what we’re seeing with *Jujutsu Kaisen* and *My Hero Academia* is an inevitable clash between fan expectations and the limits of long-form storytelling. These series built such intricate worlds and set up huge stakes, but that leaves little room for endings that feel conclusive yet satisfying. Fan pressure, serialization demands, and the sheer complexity of these narratives make it almost impossible to “stick the landing.” It’s not that these endings are bad-they’re just trapped in a cycle of impossibly high expectations and the weight of their own success.
jjk has always been mid with highs of good story telling like Hidden Inventory. It's always been a series about the next fight and nothing else mattered as much. So many intresting ideas in the lore such as the higher ups or the three clans was never explored with any depth and over half the cast is either wasted or just killed off. People just really like Gojo, I mean in the most recent pouplarity poll he had over HALF the votes. Out of 200,000 he had 100,000, it's carzy. So people are just mad Gojo isn't back, if he was they would've liked it more. I'm not trying to hate on jjk to much, but Hidden Inventory and the whole Junpei arc were the best in the series, everything after that was just action and half baked characters since all the good ones were either killed or forgotten about.
Pretty much this, people are trashing jjk right now but the series always had those issues, they overhype shibuya even though many of jjk problems got worse in that arc(too many fights that have underdeveloped characters, almost no character development and wasted potential from nobara to Toji and many other characters).

atleast MHA's ending did something special, even though many people find it frustrating i think its a very intresting artistic choice and a very unique ending. jjk's ending just felt bad, the mahtio & sukuna scene was perfect but i think the vast majority of the chapter being literal filler isnt a good way to end any story.
Mha's ending aint good one for all is gone so deku is quirkless, was a bum teacher for *8 YEARS*, barely got to meet his class, during that time he mostly gave up his dream to save people, none of the ships were confirmed like deku and uraraka ,All for one ended like muzan , the full future of class 1 A and their character development weren't written etc . But one thing is like is that ALL MIGHT IS STILL THE GOAT 💪🗿
Bleach’s ending was rushed though. Kubo even admitted that. He was sick and Shonen executives gave him a limited amount of time to finish the series cause the sales were dropping.
No, his series got cancelled for 10 years, everybody knows this. Modern revisionism isn't changing that simple fact. the sales charts, per volume numbers, ToC placement, the anime getting cancelled etc all points to this.
If this is seriously why he thinks people didn't like the AOT ending then this guy needs to get his brain checked 😂 9:01 its takes like these that really show how people misunderstand the genuine problems the ending has on the entire series.
came here for this, i kno it's not the point of the video but the AOT ending is trash toe to tip bc of isayama's analytical and creative shortcomings, has NOTHING to do with fan expectations
Fire Force is genuinely incredible because Ohkubo knew he was retiring and he could’ve easily just rushed the ending, but Instead he went fucking INSANE and produced something special.
13:39 Suprisingly horikoshi adressed that he is not goona do that. in chapter 109 or like ending of s3 he adressed that ochaco is not goona confess since they needed to focus on their carrers. My oppinion horikoshi saw potential in ochacos character and didnt do another hinata situation, witch personaly i liked. Now what i also dont understand is why people think deku didnt become the greatest hero. Everyone(Iida, Ochaco, todoroki and more) became great heros because of dekus actions and showing of heroism. Making deku the greatest hero and perfectly puts in summary that being the strongest or no1 in the charts doesnt determine of being the greatest hero, its youre actions

His friends spent so much time working to make money in order to fund his suit, they never stopped talking. There were 7 chapters of the epilogue, but everyone is only focused on the time skip. So much was explained and showed, but because ships weren't shown and he loses his powers, everyone thinks it's trash. You don't understand Midoriya's character, and he isn't complicated at all. You got the One Piece situation all backwards. The story blew up because Oda himself watned to draw more. Editors actually try to trim it where they can. Punk Hazard was supposed to be two arcs, one set in a fire island and the other on an ice island, but the editor convinced Oda to smash them together and make it into a single islansd that's split into a fire and ice half. The Tontatta tribe was supposed to be an arc too, until the editors suggested Oda make it a part of Dressrosa. Oda has previously attributed the extended length to a couple of factors. One of them is that he wants to draw more and gets carried away. Another is that his characters start acting on their own and take detours from the main storyline. Lastly Oda's stated one of the bigger reasons he's so much past his initial plan is that he realized that the side characters need motivations to join the crew or support Luffy, which can be seen in how much attention and screentime starts to be given to each subsequent crew member. With Zoro it was a matter of reaching an agreement, meanwhile for Franky, Brook etc. we got multi chapter flashbacks, several fights and a strong presence ove r the course of two arcs.
At least MHA had some meaning to it. Commentary on the superhero genre, the justice system, social problems. Not perfect but still. Idk what the fuck JJK was about. Just... what was the point besides fights?
Bro clearly was not here for Chainsaw Man part 1. Very little people were reading it weekly. There were few of us actually engaging. Everyone started reading it once it ended or was in its final run. And even chainsaw Man part 1 ending people were debating if it should really end like this so suddenly but then everyone was happy and satisfied with the ending especially cause of the part 2 announcement. It was a great ending regardless. And now the same is happening with part 2. Plus Chainsaw Man is not like Jujutsu Kaisen, Demon Slayer etc. It's not meant to appeal to the masses. So it's fine even with lesser popularity. It's for the freaks and the geeks.
In big 2024 and people still think that kaguya fight was the ending of Naruto. Naruto vs sasuke was the ending and it gave us one of the greatest fights in animanga the ending of Naruto was great imo
It doesn’t matter what genre of Manga you read, rather it’s Shonen, Seinen,Shoujo or Josei not every manga series is going to have a perfect ending for conclusion and that’s all I’m going to say.
Shonen, shojo, Seinen and Josei are not genres they are demographics the main thing that decides whether a manga is one of them is the magazine they are published in.
What is this goofy opinion. Your ending dosent have to be perfect it at least needs to be as good as the story. JJKs story was already garbage, and the ending somehow made it even worse
I'd rather have them end the manga for good, than continue to Boruto, or whatever Bleach and Nanatzu no Taizai are trying to do. Worst manga ending ever has to be Usagi Drop or Domestic Girlfriend As for the best i would say for me it was Three Days of Happiness. PS: Also Oshi No Ko is going in a bad direction, hopefully its just a bait and it doesen't ruin what they build so far.

I could understand this tbh, personally fire force is one of my favorite manga with a really good ending, but I understand how confusing it gets especially with things like PI, how the first soul resonance happens, how adolla is manipulated, etc, but it is things you have to really pay attention to, to understand.

Their opinion change out of nowhere like the first reaction to the ending of a series is full-blown trash it. I don't get that type of mindset about ending now there's some endings to certain manga that I personally don't like but there's so many things that weren't bad from other series like like the video said like Naruto bleach what they ended I was pretty much satisfied I know the fan base for those particular ones I said they changed the whole conversation about those endings. Same. I think people just like hating. They do this for every series. JJK, MHA ans AOT's endings were flawed, but not trash, they were ok at worst and actually had some very good points. And then there's people who talk like they didn't even read the manga. Eren's sudden transformation into an edgelord who wants genocide never made any sense. When he talked with Armin for the last time, it all made sense. He was just acting like that to be the world's villain so Paradise could defeat him and be the heroes so that the world would stop trying to kill them, it was the only way he saw with the founding titan's power that would allow his friends to have peace. everyone who says that Eren should have gone full 100% are just sick on th head. And for the love of god, the merger was never going to happen. it was just the consequence if they didn't win the battle against Sukuna. It wasn't a build up for a next antagonist, it was just there to give the final battle stakes. It wouldn't have even made sense. In order for the merger to happen, every player would have had to die, it could only happen if everyone died. Even if the merger could have happened without everyone dying and the good guys fought it, it would have been so ass. You can not have a mindless monster as the final antagonist of the series after fighting Ryomen Sukuna, one of the best antagonists we've had in modern manga, who has been built up since chapter 1. It would just be another Kaguya situation. So people whinning about the merger just pisses me off
@@facundosilveira5535 about your aot comment even if he wanted to do an erens acting, actually show it imo. we had no erens pov, and are we supposed to believe that he was lying in his monologues etc. aot had a bad ending for many reasons, but it can also be liked for some reasons. depends what u wanted out of it. but the writing got a lot worse in the end and that is not subjective
@@facundosilveira5535 also another thing to add to your comment about how it should have ended. you are missing a very clear point. isayama was the one who made the world, and underveloped the world building that every country was comically evil and were stated to treat eldians worse than how marleyans who tortured children mind you hated them. so only options for eren and paradis was peace before rumbling enacted or 100% rumbling. its not the fans who wanted him to , it was isayama who poorly built the world that, it was the only possible way. the ending is even more unrealistic and bs for a lot of reasons, and dont even get me started about the eren misaka and ymir thing. Isayama is terrible at writing what he perceives as romance imo. say what u will. but people hating it is very valid.
@@Sntra101 eh, i don't think it is unrealistic for the other countries to be evil or cruel to the eldians. I think it is realistic to a certain point, people in the real world are easy to manipulate into hating each other, nobody is immune to propaganda. Hell, most people don't even need manipulation. Humans are naturally afraid of anything that is different, and that fear grows to hatred. While a pov of Eren showing that it was all an act would have helped understand why he was doing things, i thing it would have taken away from the twist at the end, which i think it's what Isayama was going for. I 100% agree with you on this thou, the AOT romance is trash. Mikasa kissing Eren's decapitated head was just weird and creepy, i don't know what he was cooking with that. Even outside of that moment, almost all of Mikasa's characterization is just being obsessed with Eren, i would swear that most of her lines are "Eren". I never really liked here because of that, girl had next no personality. I think they tried to aknowledge that at some point as a character flaw but still, all i got from her was "annoying yandere"
I don't get why people hated naruto ending. While madara being replaced by kaguya as main villain was trash decision, the ending with nartu vs sasuke and naruto being hokage was great. As for bleach, i think anime will correct the ending problem.
naruto not being the hokage by the end of shippuden was a big disappointment yes naruto vs sasuke was a goated fight and madara should have been the final villain but naruto should have been crowned hokage by the end of the series but they decided to put that in boruto im a huge Naruto fan and still have Naruto in my favorite but this flaws cant be dismissed
The ending itself underdelivered but everyone trashes the final chapter specifically when that chapter specifically isn't all that bad at all. It has some truly great closure for Sukuna and provides a fantastic bit of context towards Yuji's mentality shift through Gojo basically saying "Hey Yuji, don't take my actions and behaviours as inspiration. Do your own thing and forget my influence." Which as heartbreaking as it is to hear he's right. Gojo despite all his popularity, charm and power failed to win when it mattered. His method always going to fail but he prepared for that by fostering the next generation of sorcerers and encouraging them to pursue mutual love and care rather than selfish strength and power.
I don’t know, I thought Houseki no Kuni and Beastars had great endings. Also, as someone who also reads American comic books this tends to be an issue there as well. The Walking Dead’s original comic ending was very controversial and hated. The Boys’ comic ended was also kind of hated too. So I guess it’s a case of popular series in general?
Regarding MHA, I must say I actually really liked the final battle between Shigaraki and Deku. I always expected it to go somewhat like that, because Deku never wanted to destroy Shigaraki, but rather understand him and, despite everything, save him. However I agree that the epilogue was very underwhelming. Even if it's only a side manga and it's canonicity can be argued, Vigilantes exists, Knuckleduster exists. The fact that despite there being a perfect example of a quirkless hero, Deku just gave up on his dreams as soon as OFA was gone, that did leave a sour taste in my mouth. I would've prefered that he kept fighting for his dreams in spite of everything, that way the last part about him obtaining a superpowered armor to go back to being a hero would've felt much more fulfilling. Honestly that's the only part of the ending I didn't like, because the rest of the ending did align with my expectations pretty adequately. (I have nothing to say about JJK since I haven't read the manga and only watched Season 1 of the anime)
My friend Michael talks anime did a video on why do good anime get back ending. He did say most anime get their ending right like Cowbow bebop, code geass, assassination classroom and Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood as these series have universally beloved endings by their fans.
Spoilers for Tokyo Revengers. The problem with Tokyo Revengers wasn't that there was another arc. The final arc was clearly intended to exist before and wasn't just written because the manga was popular. The actual problem with the final arc is that it kinda ended out of nowhere AND we got a Disney ass ending where everyone's lives were spared and everything ended happily ever after. Even some of the most vile people in the series (Like Kisaki and South) were redeemed. Tokyo Revengers is 278 chapters long, and for like 270 of those chapters its a good manga. It just needed another 10-15 chapters to explain some things better, and to instead have a more bittersweet ending where some characters are dead, but the goal of the protagonist is still met. TR was my first manga, and it makes me sad that it had such a crappy, rushed ending. I heard that Ken Wakui was forced by Kodansha to wrap everything up, which would make sense I guess because he is now working under Shonen Jump writing his new manga, Astro Royale (Which I've heard mixed things about, but haven't read it myself)
While i dont like fan service in stories and endings that dont fit the overall themes of main stories, I do think that if an author doesnt have a clear idea of how to finish a series, it never hurts to let themselves be somewhat guided by fan input. I’m not saying gege should have brought everyone back to life and had them all have a dance party at the end, but by the last few chapters you could really feel that Gege did not want to write the story anymore. It felt like he kept throwing ideas and lore at the wall trying to bide time until the 5 chapter limit was up. I really dont think it would have hurt the ending to adjust it with fan expectations in mind. I feel as if many authors get caught up in the pride of wanting to subvert expectations at the expense of writing a solid piece of entertainment. Had Gege wrapped up or answered some long term lore and character questions in the last 5 chapters, i believe this ending would have much better reception. Instead we wasted a whole chapter on explaining simple domain, recapping the fight we spent more than a year reading, and a new random mission for the main trio. I wouldnt be surprised if Gege did this things specifically to spite what fans wanted out of the ending. Either way, an ending like this will be the ending of jjk FOREVER, and we all agree it could have been handled better.
i don't think this a general trend most Shonen manga as alot of them to have good endings Katekyo hitman reborn , Beelzebub , Gintama , Toriko , Yu Yu Hakusho , and Assassination Classroom , and Fullmetal Achiemist
The trend is only for what this guy considers “great” manga. And after watching the whole video I get the feeling he hasn’t read anything outside of popular new gen manga. For example he clearly had no idea what he was talking about when he brought up one piece. And even his talks of bleach and naruto’s ending sounded like he was just reading the sentiments he found online about them instead of his own personal feelings about them.
Didn't Togashi straight up give up on Yu Yu Hakusho because of his health issues? Fans have been complaining about how rushed the ending was for like a decade.
An outlier that I know of would be Jojo, ironically. Regardless of what you might think of it, Araki managed to give almost every Part of Jojo a solid beginning, middle and end. Part 8 is literally the only one who's ending could be argued as being kind of arse because of the sheer amount of questions it leaves us with. But ,still, the fact that he managed to have 7/8 of his endings feel satisfying on each individual part is a feat in of itself. Now, granted, each individual part does vary in chapter count and length od each chapter. But its still impressive when you consider each part is both its own thing AND an ongoing story.
Demon Slayer had a good ending in my opinion. They worked hard through the hell they went through against the demons to receive their time of peace and prosperity that ensured the generations ahead had the same.
The MHA ending makes me angry to think about. That and AOT both are just so frustrating. I don't like stories that do the main character dirty, and both of those just can't help but shit all over their MC in the final stretch. I really don't get why authors enjoy doing that but whatever. I hope the reaction helps them improve in the future, but I certainly won't be reading anything those authors write. Aka is in that group as well now, that Oshi no Ko ending is so bad.
I doubt one piece will have a bad ending due to it being the only relevant popular shounen around, also because Oda is passionate about the ending and the final war arc for one piece
@@silongbalay820ain’t even glazing but yk it’s gonna be peak when we have like 20+ major players and we don’t even know like 40% of one piece’s world history and with the success of one piece’s franchise we could see it being milked like db
1:00 Might be a Hot Take, but I don't think the MHA ending is as awful as people make it out to be, especially compared to JJK's conclusion. Is it a perfect ending? Not really, I wish Horikoshi did some things differently but it's not terrible. It's just an ok ending.
Tr final arc was never the problem .i remember that story was at its peak in that arc . everyone were talking about it . The problem with that manga was the ending . The last two chapters if I'm being specific . It was literally like someone kidnapped the author in the middle of the climax and now some random ppl have to finish everything in 2 chapters.
Naruto ending was never bad, the kaugya thing was the biggest complaint. But the actual ending of naruto vs sasuke was actually fine. Naruto becoming hokage was great.
13:38 Actually, that was just certain shippers hoping the series would end with Midoriya and Bakugou getting married. Those were the expectations most fans had.
The thing about jjk is that the ending wasn’t terrible its just that the world building in jjk had so much potential and creativity to just end as a typical character wakes up at the final moment for mc to get a opening to win.
yea tbh, the sukuna gauntlet didnt seem as mechanically interesting as the previous fights in the series. they literally tanked jacobs ladder by climbing on it?? idk if im hit with the reading comprehension devil, but i have no idea how sukuna and yuji tanked jacobs ladder. also totally agree with yuji and todo copy paste thing, they both happen right after a major character dies and yuji losing his resolve. we couldve had a glorious three way jumping with all the brothers
2:39 to be fair all that is true, kubo was sick and wasnt really able to write the final arc how he wanted, thats why the anime version is a bit different and better. Jjk has no such excuses since it wasnt losing readers or the author is sick, gege just rushed it to write another manga(which is what happened to yu yu hakusho too btw)
Gege already confirmed in an interview Yuji can’t alter memories. Todo was just being schizophrenic and Choso has that connection with all of his brothers.
The thing is, it all felt like Gege was tired of jjk and wanted to end this as soon as possible. It was feeling that way since the poorly executed ending of Gojo vs Sukuna. And more things were being ignored like the stuff mentioned in the video, the merger barely affecting the fight or adding meaningful stakes (like seriously you could remove the merger from the story and nothing would change), Kenjaku, the same sorcerer trying to execute a plan for centuries or even a milennia (i don't remember well, correct me if im wrong), died in a lackluster way (no off-screen, just that such a smart character and dies easily. It was intelligent, but not appropriate for the character imo). The US military kidnapping sorcerers subplot was barely addressed. The shibuya thing when Geto came back to choke Kenjaku was also never addressed again, and more bs that Gege apparently didn't want to explain. Gege could have easily spent the last 3 chapters tying loose ends instead of making a whole chapter of Maki yapping about useless things that doesn't matter or the pointless mission about a stalker with a worse CT than Helicopter head, airplane hair girl and the other girl with a hair CT.
MHA’s ending was…just okay. I guess it stayed in line with its themes and did the bare minimum of what an ending is supposed to do, but it was just so unsatisfying given everything we’ve seen on Deku’s journey As for JJK’s ending, I haven’t caught up on the manga, but the fact that I haven’t seen not a single person defend JJK’s ending is very telling 😭. Because I saw people defending MHA’s, AOT’s, Tokyo Revengers’s, Naruto’s, Bleach’s endings, etc, but for JJK? Crickets😭
It's still fresh for jjk. You will see there will be People who also like this ending. As a jjk fan, if we look at an objective standpoint the ending wasn't terrible. It was just an average ok ending. But jjk have a lot of haters so because the ending is objectively not good enough they will trash the manga.
I felt that it reflects the hero's journey and how great problems are resolved in the real world. They just get back to what they usually do with a great story to tell.
Jojo always has dope endings, I wasn't crazy about the part 8 ending but it was fun and memorable. My hero was always hinting at everyone being the greatest hero so the ending was ok, but I didn't expect much from it. JJK was cool but honestly I'm glad it ended and I don't like the ending. I think more series would have better endings if they stayed on theme and didn't hint at so many cool things that don't even get explained in the end
also bleach manag ending was a totally different story. Whatever the reason you believe (there were multiple) Kubo was sick and/or he was literally being rushed by the studio to finish the manga and they told him to do it within a few chapters. It was obvious.
I don't remember anybody was praising Naruto and Bleach's ending. While they're a lot more forgiving to them now, they still acknowledge that the endings are super flawed. Same will be with JJK and MHA. And I feel JJK was already getting hate way before the ending was announced. People were already pointing out the failures of JJK's characters. I feel like your observation of the reactions are quite surface level. Yes, the general complaint of these endings are the characters and rush plot. But what other criticisms can you give aside from those? Usually bad endings always boils down to those two. But the devil is always in the details. People had that exact complaints for Tokyo Revengers' ending and I don't think anybody would defend how dumb it was. Same can be said with Yuyu Hakusho's ending. Another possible usual complaints would be dragged out plot and overstaying welcome like God Of Highschool. But that issue is literally the complete extreme opposite ends of the "rush plot" complaint. Also, I never was onboard the train of Eren should be this gigachad edgelord train and always view him to be pathetic. Still dislikes the ending of AoT. Expectations from fans is one thing, but like you said with Deku and Ochaco, expectations written and set by the author is another. Also, there's also the problematic writing with Eren in general that has nothing to do with him being a Wuss.
Yeah, maybe I just missed it, but I never heard people defending Naruto's or Bleach's endings much. In fact, people constantly lament that their endings were very obviously rushed (Bleach because of Kubo's health, Naruto because Kishi just wrote himself into a corner constantly). Naruto mostly had its hate died down because Boruto is that much more hated, and the only reason I saw people liking Bleach was because the anime adaptation was done competently and it showed off a few more forms people really wanted to see.
@@youtube-kit9450not really kishimoto wanted to have proper ending for naruto but his editors force him to expand the series hense why boruto is made naruto was doing well at the time that they wanted to milk the series even more also i saw a graph once on tiktok that said kishimoto had the least amount of breaks and rest out of the big three authors so that probably took a tall on him
lol wtf no Naruto's ending was fine and Naruto fans were happy with it. Only naysayers were salty OP fans or other fanbases pretending to be Naruto fans.
Idk, I thought the ending was fine. Everytime I read what "fans" think would make a better ending, it sounds like fanfiction garbage. Gojo coming back out of nowhere, the merger wiping out humanity and Yuji being the sole survivor, Sukuna winning the final battle. Just truly garbage tier ideas that don't really make sense given the context of the story.
a pretty good answer to this question. and having these last two videos back to back show to you have your planning figured out cause as a fan I was not expecting that 😁. Anyway guess I'll expand on the series mentioned in this list. No disagreements on FF and I still haven't picked up on Gintama yet but based on what I've heard that sounds right. (Probably never reading TR but also sounds right from what I've heard). AoT really was one super controversial ending & I think a lot of people forget the controversies of the Big 3 endings. Though I will say in the case of AoT, one of the refreshing aspects looking back is I felt a lot of people disavowed the series if they hated the ending and as big fan of the series, it was nice to have people making less noise about my series. Cause at it's popularity, the fandom was quite a cesspool. As for the series that just ended, again I feel your general answer is on point. MHA felt lackluster while JJK made some weird choices near the very end. Personally as MHA was wrapping up I just wanted it to be over as I already wasn't a fan of the trajectory of things, but JJK on the other hand kept me guessing till the very end. For that reason I think JJK has the better ending. However I will say that MHA had a more definitive end with less left over. Though both did have big things left over: the merger for JJK & the quirk singularity for MHA. Now I'd like to bring some comparison points. Now I understand you only have some much time per video but there were a couple series I'm surprised didn't get brought up. Big one being Demon Slayer. Another series that ended with a whimper. While ending was definitive like MHA, it also picked the strangest way to end the series like JJK. Considering how close to the end the series was when the anime blew up, likely also affected by popularity. Mashle almost certainly was as well since iirc the mangaka said the series was ending soon but then had to take it back. The bigger series I was expecting you to mention this video was Dr Stone and Edens Zero. Cause they both are good examples of planned endings & they're major series you've covered on the channel. The former was slightly hampered by fan expectation, but outside of Ginatama & Haikyuu, was one of the better shonen jump series endings. Edens Zero on the other hand felt like a long drawn out conclusion with the final arc and major exposition dumping near the ending. Dr Stone had the advantage of a follow up on it's final plot hooks. However I don't think any of these series were quite as vocal about their endings as those listed in the video (except maybe Demon Slayer). Maybe be due to popularity due to the their respective anime adaptations. Last big point I wanted to bring up was anime. Because as you mentioned Bleach is now more enjoyed because of the TYBW arc anime. MHA controversy aside, I've heard people watching the anime are enjoying it. Maybe the spectacle of the anime will help people remember the series fondly. Similar thing may happen for Demon Slayer. However going back to Bleach, this maybe a chance for JJK to have some corrections made before it finishes adapting the series. Seems unlikely for Dr Stone with only one more season left. EZ at most could maybe fix pacing issues. It may not be possible for all series, but I think that while anime only endings have ruined some adpation in the past, in the future maybe it'll be their salvation. tl;dr I can agree with most of what was said in the video. While I like JJK & it's ending a bit more, MHA did an ok job at making a conclusive finale. Though both had major unresolved things. I had expected a few more examples of popular series endings, including planned ones like Dr Stone & EZ along with unplanned ones like Mashle & possibly Demon Slayer. But my big thing is that I hope many more series get their TYBW anime redemptions.
Demon Slayer's ending isn't unplanned wtf. DS is already one of the most planned out series and that goes double for its ending, which was built up to incredibly well. It was the perfect ending that wrapped everything up super well, no loose ends, all arcs and themes resolved wonderfully. It isn't really strange that it ended when it did. Yeah, it could have been milked for years and years, but Shonen Jump seem comfortable to let authors end their manga naturally nowadays when it is their time, so it's great that newer authors are doing just that instead of dragging it out for 1000 chapters.
Thanks man! Honestly so happy to see you enjoying these videos as much as you have. And yeah it just came down to a time thing. Dr. STONE I didn't mention just because it would have been more examples of what I was basically saying already. I also would loved to have talked about Dragon Quest, but just not enough time.
@@natalimoina hey I'm glad you liked it. For me the Muzan fight kinda dragged and the very last bits of the series where we saw the far future felt uneeded. My speculation is these issues came by prolonging the very last part of the series just because of how huge the anime was. But it seems you're a hardcore DS fan and I will admit that most of it felt well planned out. So I'm happy to give you the benefit of the doubt that despite my own grievances with the series that it was still planned to always be like this
@@partyjams yeah bro you didn't cook on that one. The theme of demon slayer was always sacrificing the now for the benefit of the people you might not even get to see. So the future being bright but with the story of the demon slayers being relegated to being just an urban legend is such a poignant but fitting ending.
Would have been cooler if Gojo was the only survivor in the end and just have to rebuild everything from scratch, being the most powerful human in the world doesen't mean crap if you have no one to fight.
When I think about why Endings are so important, a Veritasium about how when given the choice people would like/choose something more painful if at the ending it got better than the opposite.
Personally, I view JJK and MHA having okay endings. Nothing terrible, but nothing amazing like this is gonna stick with me for so long. Ones that I believe are good have that sense of resolution and really show the growth of your characters (usually just the MC but sometimes more). I think Shaman King, Katekyo Hitman Reborn, and Zatch Bell have great endings that feel like true resolutions and ends to great character arcs. Granted people have their own personal grips with them (Shaman King being called rushed is fair, but it was canceled for years before being allowed a set amount of chapters to wrap up everything but is one of the best ways to take down an overpowered final main antagonist to date; Katekyo Hitman Reborn gets flak because by the end Tsuna isn't a true mob boss, but he never wanted to be one and the ending shows how much he's matured without lossing himself to the mafia world, so he can still be no good Tsuna but his life is exponentially more fulfilling now). I will give completely biased honorable mentions to Rave and Fire Force. Rave is so brutual that you're just happy that all is not lost in the end, and everyone really gave a good showing in the final arc with things you couldn't predict. Fire Force, I absolutely loved the ending and how it connected things, but I can't deny that it does do one thing I cringed at in the finale with a "my MC is basically Jesus" trope which felt unnecessary; other than that, I loved it and especially how things ended for characters like Arthur and Obi.
Judging by the career of Aka Akasaka, I can say that the main problem is that manga editors do not have the powers of a totalitarian secret police. Because when a dude destroys iconic works twice in a row because he lost interest and wants to start a new one or plays online shooters instead of working on a good ending, then you literally hear “he needs control” when you see it.
I agree that they're bad, but I don't think they've ruined anything, since you can still read the manga/watch the anime and the ending is still there. Also, GT at least is pretty fun to me, knowing that it's not canon
On paper this ending at first seemed terrible and in so many ways it is regarding the speed in which it moved. BUT, if you really think about what it means symbolically, and what these last few chapters have been trying to convey the ending is honestly better than you think. I was upset about a few things after leaks, especially with no mention of who that geto look alike was but then again the story has been trying to tell us it doesn’t matter. The ending to me is simply trying to convey that these characters have the strength to chose there own path, regardless of where the story took them, in the end they all got a chance to chose where they want to go. Sukunas path to me was especially interesting to me as on paper he should never have any doubt in his beliefs, but then again his beliefs on talent, strength, and love have been shattered multiple times in his fight against the sorcerers. He was so arrogant to these concepts and because of his own pride and selfishness he automatically assumed he understood what these concepts meant. But true talent isn’t just being born with talent because there are those who’s potential can out shine there’s. True strength isn’t just being born with strength, the strength to forgive and face one’s self is also strength. And true love isn’t just as plain as to say you love someone, as seen by yuji love can be shown through empathy and guidance. All this to say jjk ending to me on a symbolic note was great. The problems are still there ofc w the crazy pacing but I can still say gege wrapped up the theme of jjk in a great way
My main problem with MHA is they pushed one of the most interesting villain in the entire show, Overhaul, to the wayside WAY too fast. He should have been a major player in the story longer and imo should have been one of if not the final villain. I found him way more interesting than Shigaraki and All for One. As for JJK, I really hated how much info text and exposition was in the final fight, and I enjoy chapters and anime episodes where the power system is fleshed out. I also felt like JJK ended way too soon from a narrative sense. Sukuna was only a Japan level threat. We never even got to see any other country. So much story to tell.
How would you rate Jujutsu Kaisen's ending? Which manga has the best ending?
4/10 at best
pretty sure its leading up to a sequel with the whole kenjaku build up but if they actually wrap EVERYTHING up in 2 chapters.. lets just say there wont be a jjk2 or any upcoming manga from gege after this
@@RodhiShartedHarded sequel wouldn’t change the fact that most ppl think jjk is mid as of current

I think its pretty overhated tbh, it gave a pretty good conclusion to some of the character, and even tho it hurts to say, Gege did well by keeping Gojo dead. 8/10
That’s why Berserk, Vagabond and Hunter x Hunter are considered the best manga. If there’s no ending, there’s no disappointment.

Gege getting published in Shonen Jump was the best and worst thing for Jujutsu Kaisen
It was only for the worse. Ya it got way more popular but if this rushed product is the result of it becoming popular then what was the point
He never wanted to make a shonen in the first place I think
it seems gege originally planned JJK to be a short 30-50 chapter fight manga.
i think he take the shonen deal to challenge himself maybe he'll get better as times go on, but since chapter 100s you can already tell gege starting to give up on JJK and really gave up as the manga continues.
it feels like he only continue because of the contract he signed with shonen jump, maybe in one of the deal is that Gege needs to make JJK at minimum 250 chapters.
@@cj5476 Nah, best and worst is accurate
The message I took is that like gojo, gege wants JJK to be forgotten so he can move onto other things.. he doesn’t wanna be “the strongest”
U have a point. I can see Gege saying "I'm tired of drawing this Albino Haired Bastard"😂
Yeah it was kinda cool how that scene speaks to the readers. I thought it was only abt Gojo, but you let me know this
I think people don't understand just how important an ending actually is, especially since the ending of a series is arguably the biggest factor in making a series worth recommending in the future. For example, now that this ending has happened in JJK, I am pretty sure that in the future all it will ever really be recommended for is the fights and nothing more.
Nah, I disagree, people are way more bias than that
I would agree if Bleach didn’t exist, but since it does that’s not what’s gonna happen
For a while people are going to be talking about JJK as if it’s mid and that’s it but I PROMISE you eventually when a new gen anime comes out people are gonna switch up and act like they always loved JJK, I’ve seen this behaviour happen time and time again
People used to say Bleach fell off after the first few arcs then when it started trending and getting popular again people switched up as if they loved these arcs from jump, it doesn’t help that a mappa adaptation of S3 is coming out eventually, if it looks good, people will switch up 🤷🏿♂️

On the heian era flashback, it's a big fumble for gege
Idk the 5 void generals ngl
All the backstory you said is pretty much the heian era flashback
I think yuki was just used as a plot device
Idc about hakari not having a development, he's already cool though minus points for not defeating uraume
I guess kashimo was pointless, though I liked his talk with sukuna when he died
I don't really care about the culling games barrier because I forgot about it
I'm 50/50 on yujo, because yeah there should have been a consequence but Rika was just too op again
Megumi should be braindead
Gojo not having a funeral is absolutely atrocious
Choso talk with yuji when dying was the proper send off for me, plus yuji was the only person that cared for him
Deus ex from what I heard is something that is completely impossible to happen but still happens anyways for plot convenience, I don't think nobaras return was deus ex considering Nobara using soul resonance on sukunas finger was always in my mind on the start of shinjuku, I was a Nobara coper, though it still was an asspull
Thought kenjaku being alive was supposed to be a comedic thing because of takabas doing, of wanting to have a partner which he got

Clan wars in jjk Part 2 maybe...? No...? That sucks...
Heian era clans would probably be explained in the heian era flashback

Jjk phantom parade main characters should have been used in the real jjk man

Gege has severely disappointed me I guess he really wasn't a good writer I thought that he was
way before the ending i had problems with the series like Kenjaku was taken out way to easily , nothing came of the merger , Nobara coming back after not
doing shit for 50 % of the series as and getting a critical hit out on Sukuna that was unearned , Megumi not living up to his hype , Hakari vs Uraume being skipped , no heian era flashback , Tabakas fight with Kenjaku while entertaining was waste of time , Yuta surviving getting hit by the world slash , Rika magically getting RCT to heal Yuta even though its never been specified or shown that she is shikigami and has RCT before
I found it frustrating that the conditions of binding vows are almost never explained when a character makes one, which they made one all the time during the showdown.

Man Medaka Box needs a reboot or a new season. 😔
Also he made Monogatari which arguable has my favourite cast ever
Medaka box ending was peak
6:25 whoa, that was a lot of misinformation. Oda had the idea of the Four Emperors long before he thought of the Seven Warlords (not the other way around like you suggested). In fact, he's stated that creating the Warlord system is what caused the story to accidentally grow so large in scale. He never received any pressure from editors to artificially extend One Piece at the five-year mark
Grand Line Review even has an entire video explaining it called "This Is Why One Piece Is So Long"
Heck, and I don't see why it would be neccessary considering OP is a huge juggernaut in Japan and Oda likes widening his story's scope on his own constantly.
im glad someone pointed this out
I came to the comments right after hearing that to comment the same thing but good to see you pointed it out!

honestly i think it really boils down to the weekly shonen format being utterly unsustainable in the long term. no matter how good an author is, they're bound to burn out, suffer health problems, mental problems, all while the magazine's priority is to keep popular series' running for as long as possible.
of course series do suffer from their own individual problems, and i feel like jjk had a big priority shift where starting with the culling games, it lost a lot of interest in its cast. there would be occasional moments of characters working through their emotions, but largely it treated them mainly as spectacle for action. which i suppose is fine in theory for an action series, but after so many fans grew attached to the series because of the characters and looking forward to seeing where their arcs would go, it really does suck that most of them didnt really go anywhere or didnt get enough attention to develop.
gojo being unsealed from the box is a really good encapsulation of this. he's psychologically the same and shows little emotion at learning one of his students is nearly dead and the other, his own adopted ward, is taken over, brushing it off with a joke about how he'll be fine punching his face in, then fights sukuna for several months real time and dies. while we do get a nice send off with him reuniting with people important to him, it really does feel like the manga just does not care about the relationships and emotions of these characters anymore, and its a big let down for many because thats WHY they liked the series.

I also love Dungeon Meshi's final arc and ending. It ended as a masterpiece.

Do you know that The Breaker has Sequels? As far as I know it's still running

I won't add my thoughts about the jjk ending yet, still trying to digest what I read.

It’s like playing DnD and your party has done everything in their power to make a plan against the BBEG only for him to be immune to everyone’s damage except the DM’s Favorite NPC. It’s like…why are we even here? Especially since he’s shown he can fight him by himself.

So much was explained and showed, but because ships weren't shown and he loses his powers, everyone thinks it's trash. You don't understand Midoriya's character, and he isn't complicated at all. That's still a cop out my guy
In my opinion you should always have two endings in mind
One for if your series is short and one if your series is long.
At least MHA had some meaning to it. Commentary on the superhero genre, the justice system, social problems. Not perfect but still. Idk what the fuck JJK was about. Just... what was the point besides fights?

What best manga, worst endings?
Fullmetal Alchemist, The Fable, Mob Psycho 100, GTO, Parasyte, Flowers Of Evil, are best manga and best endings, what you on? Thats the problem the young only reads shounend and once it ends with the power of friendship winning they trash the manga, you get what you paid for.
Wdym bro Mob Psycho had a great ending. It wasn't my taste but it still works well
Dont forget attack on titan😭
mob psycho is carried by the animation, nice try
@@JayJay-n1dattack on titan has nothing to say about good ending
@@targaryenstandernowaday when an anime has good animation people would say it is carried by animation no matter what even if mob psycho is loved for many other things
Chainsawman part 1 wasn't THAT popular when it was weekly lmao, it exploded when the first part was ending.
Eventhough you said fire force ending is considered as good. But for me, the last arc kinda convoluted at first before coming to the conclusion. So much yapping which make readers lost interest. Clearly tying the 2 stories is the safest way for Ohkubo, rather than going for stand alone series
I could understand this tbh, personally fire force is one of my favorite manga with a really good ending, but I understand how confusing it gets especially with things like PI, how the first soul resonance happens, how adolla is manipulated, etc, but it is things you have to really pay attention to, to understand.
I really don't understand what you're talking about jjk was never a good manga
The thing is half of these are shonen manga and shonen manga just have a Disney ahh ending (where mc lives happy) cuz shonen jump mostly forces it
Bro had this one prepared 😭😭
Pandora hearts will always be one of my few top manga. The ending is wonderful for the story and nothing felt out of place or unsatisfying
Another fellow Pandora hearts fan! Good to see we still around
JJK made me like MHA 30% more and Naruto and Bleach endings 100x.
how did bleach end like
@@tenshadowsnotbumgumi Very rushed,a lot of the fights felt incomplete, you could see that the author was suffering a lot and just wanting to finish, the final fight was very disapointing but at least he show the world move forward a decade later and let a boruto sequel bait in place while it was kinda bad the artwork was still amazing and the character designs were still on point.
Luckily the tybw anime adaptation for bleach allows kubo to finally flesh out his story. Its been peak so far. Im hoping jjk's adaptation allows gege to add in things he wants to aswell because his health was also really bad near the end of the manga. Bro had his appendix removed and only took a month break
Yeah it's weird when a series comes to an end a lot of the fan base trash is the ending until years later when a new popular manga comes out they decide to change up the rhetoric and just say it was so great even though when it first ended for the series so many people of the fandom trash that ending.
I don't get it I really don't get it it's very weird to me
So people whinning about the merger just pisses me off
@@facundosilveira5535totally agree about the merger, it definitely would’ve been another kaguya.
These anitubers intentionally do this, no way they're this daft. I don't believe it. What happened before the ending is not considered the finale lol
Jujutsu was never Great, maybe it was good until Culling games, but never GREAT, it just has good fights.

This. Shibuya was the peak of jjk.

Can you make another video on fire force? Talk about anything tbf I’d enjoy it
As a fan of Soul Eater and Fireforce... I really like both ending. Soul Eater was nice but Fireforce was AMAZING.
Expectation is the worse.
Soul Eater's anime ending was terrible, the manga was better
i don't think this a general trend most Shonen manga as alot of them to have good endings Katekyo hitman reborn , Beelzebub , Gintama , Toriko , Yu Yu Hakusho , and Assassination Classroom , and Fullmetal Achiemist

They worked hard through the hell they went through against the demons to receive their time of peace and prosperity that ensured the generations ahead had the same.
ngl, demon slayer doesn't deserve the hate it gets from Shounen Ouji and the anime community.
Aka is in that group as well now, that Oshi no Ko ending is so bad.

i didn't know One Piece was extended because of the magazine.
Dragon Ball Z had the same problem. Toriyama wanted to end it at Frieza.
One Piece is going to have a terrible ending, I doubt Oda has learned the mistakes from Mangakas before him in 20+ years.
Naruto becoming hokage was great.
nah it’s horrid
exactement
13:38 Actually, that was just certain shippers hoping the series would end with Midoriya and Bakugou getting married. Those were the expectations most fans had.
The thing about jjk is that the ending wasn’t terrible its just that the world building in jjk had so much potential and creativity to just end as a typical character wakes up at the final moment for mc to get a opening to win.
I would also like to add that this already happened in shibuya with yuji and todo feels kinda copy and paste to me just my opinion tho
yea tbh, the sukuna gauntlet didnt seem as mechanically interesting as the previous fights in the series. they literally tanked jacobs ladder by climbing on it?? idk if im hit with the reading comprehension devil, but i have no idea how sukuna and yuji tanked jacobs ladder. also totally agree with yuji and todo copy paste thing, they both happen right after a major character dies and yuji losing his resolve. we couldve had a glorious three way jumping with all the brothers
I guess it stayed in line with its themes and did the bare minimum of what an ending is supposed to do, but it was just so unsatisfying given everything we’ve seen on Deku’s journey
As for JJK’s ending, I haven’t caught up on the manga, but the fact that I haven’t seen not a single person defend JJK’s ending is very telling 😭.
People are already defending it once they got the context lol.

My hero was always hinting at everyone being the greatest hero so the ending was ok, but I didn't expect much from it. JJK was cool but honestly I'm glad it ended and I don't like the ending. also bleach manag ending was a totally different story.
Also, there's also the problematic writing with Eren in general that has nothing to do with him being a Wuss.
nah naruto ending is good it's even ranked high up there in best shonen endings

Gege "don't show AND don't tell" Akutami
tbh the problem is he shoulda just gone further with this idea and not made JJK at all.
Jjk was already on a steep decline on quality way before the ending
a pretty good answer to this question. and having these last two videos back to back show to you have your planning figured out cause as a fan I was not expecting that 😁.

That why full metal will always be the best. It managed to create a satisfactory ending

Dragon Ball ending was perfect. I know, unfortunately, Super exists, but the manga still ended in 1995 and didn't come back for 20 years.
Both Super and GT ruined what could've been a perfect shonen ending
I agree that they're bad, but I don't think they've ruined anything, since you can still read the manga/watch the anime and the ending is still there. Also, GT at least is pretty fun to me, knowing that it's not canon

Shit taste
I mean, I've come around with the Bleach ending, but Naruto's ending is still straight ass to me.
The problems are still there ofc w the crazy pacing but I can still say gege wrapped up the theme of jjk in a great way
Only the sukuna parts is good, nothing else outside it
Copium
My main problem with MHA is they pushed one of the most interesting villain in the entire show, Overhaul, to the wayside WAY too fast. He should have been a major player in the story longer and imo should have been one of if not the final villain. I found him way more interesting than Shigaraki and All for One.
As for JJK, I really hated how much info text and exposition was in the final fight, and I enjoy chapters and anime episodes where the power system is fleshed out. I also felt like JJK ended way too soon from a narrative sense. Sukuna was only a Japan level threat. We never even got to see any other country. So much story to tell.
