    I still find it crazy that people dislike Valhallas story. There was so much great stuff and connections between vikings, order of the ancients, the isu, the animus and the modern day story. Even that there is so much analysis that can be done, shows the depth of it.

    • @AccessAnimus
      @AccessAnimus  ปีที่แล้ว +34

      The thing is, the mythological coating can be a turn-off for some of the hardcore fans that usually pass on or don’t really put a high regard on this kind of content.
      But it’s true, so much analysis that can be done!

    • @davidestabilini4468
      @davidestabilini4468 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      @N7Andy I don’t dislike the mythological coating by itself, since I loved Asgard/Jotunheim’s arc. The problem in Dawn of Ragnarok is in the plot itself, they didn’t explain Surtr’s plan or what was the purpose of the salakar. I would imagine it would be no different in a pure Isu setting.

      The problem is the Viking story, the Saga to conquer alliances at England that take way too much space from the plot of the game.

    i believe the forgotten saga takes places right after Odin finds Baldr's body and before his fight with Surt. when Odin meet the dwarves after Baldr's death they ask him where has he been the last few days, and Odin is surprised by the "days", it is possible this missing days is the time he was in helheim

    I actually loved this and I wouldn't be surprised if Baldr somehow shows Eivor the battle through the Isu lens in the grey. It would be awesome for her to finally see everything as it happened without that mythological veil.

    I've been waiting for this! Cheers for all the hard work and analysis you put into these videos team! I feel like AC Valhalla in particular has become something like the Inception film but on steroids. I've been playing the AC games all my life and I'm at the point where I play these games, and I haven't got a clue what's going on haha. Thanks again for bringing some clarity to this jigsaw puzzle of fog and mist.

      Indeed a lot of work goes on these videos, thanks man, I know you can understand 😅
      I love your description of Valhalla’s story, especially the Myth part 😂 It’s always pretty complicated to try and understand what’s going on because the content is oftentimes vague and it’s very rarely confirmed by the devs anyway, so it’s totally understandable.
      I do hope that in the future it’s the story itself that brings more clarity instead of leaving fans disoriented 🥲

    It's crazy that DoR was easily one of my least favorite DLCs in the series and this is definitely one of the best in this game. This handled the Odin/Mythological Vail stuff a lot better and was acted and written a lot better. This is second only to Siege of Paris in this game for me

I’ve loved every part of Eivor’s (and Odin’s) journeys, so it’ll be sad when it reaches it end. Here’s hoping that there will be a few more surprises for Eivor before her final chapter. I’d be a little disappointed if Valhalla’s year two content was just DoR, FS, and her final chapter. Especially since they decided to focus on a Basim game before finishing Eivor’s story. That kinda confuses me.

      @@AccessAnimus The final sequence where Odin meets with him and talks with him... I feel he just oozes Templar controlling vibes. He is going so far and controlling even Odin, one of the strongest and most influential Isu of the era, at least as far as we know.
      Also I can 100% see him being anti-Loki camp and everything about Loki seems to scream Assassin, especially with the "Nothing is true; everything is permitted" motto. And if he is anti-Loki camp, I think it will be very interesting to see what Basim says after seeing Eivor's final chapter, especially if she ends up meeting up with Baldr in the grey. @@towellight9400 I´d absolutely would co-sign the first paragraph and by default the positiong opposed to Loki. But what gave me the most templar vibes, by far, was when the whole light theme, that became more and more prominent, but less in a literal way, but more kind of metaphoric: while assassins serve the light while working in the dark, the templar are bringing the light, illuminating people, enlightening them.
      Given the vast Templar influence during/on the enlightenment era (likewise the assassins had their in the renaissance, mainly to - in ac lore - ezio being the role model for machiavellis principe, which became kind of canon for "modern governance" at that time), i wouldn´t be suprised at all baldr being a force behind that period (maybe even becoming a sage at that period) and the next installment as well aas the first episodes of the live service building towards it, with the release that is known now under "Rift" being somewhat the proper kick-off towards a new journey through eras, culminating with Baldr´s return to initiate somwhoe what would then become the enlightenment era.
      That would not even need to be during said era (since 18th century saw its fair share of games) but could be placed before, somewhere from the late 1500s throught the 1600s.

    Ngl, I'm excited for the last half of Valhalla's content, there's also plenty of evidence now that Darby's working on the "final chapter" (he has liked several tweets that say the same, plus his comments in that interview). I don't generally like the mythological coating, but I do like the way they've set up a possible clash between the philosophies of opposing Isu. Whether Darby chooses to carry this plot point forward or not, I'll be happy either way, and I think that's the best position to be in 😂.
    Also, if Eivor releases Baldr, is it possible that it's at the expense of her life? Like Desmond and Juno? (Since you need to give a life to release an entrapped isu from the grand temple machinery). We'll see. Since it's Darby, I'm kind of excited. Nonetheless, I'm glad that the last half of the post launch is ending on a brighter note, and is actually exciting and something to look forward to!

    Baldur doesnt say he will fight his enemies. He says that odin will fight them, wich may imply that fight happens before or after baldurs resurection. Norse mith says baldur reborns ans well as other gods such as thors sons( wich may be part of thors oat, keep my secret and ill save your sons) and he will rebuid the world together with the 2 last humans, wich may be adam and eve since isu had many names ( ill take it as people from that that are now known by many names, not just isu and not literally). Ragnarok is a story of rebirth, and weirdlly enough, maybe on a sexist view of mitology, the surviving gods are male. Wich to me means that baldur set things up so that humanity inhereted the earth, and he did what minerva asked desmond to do, let the world die, guide the survivors and create anew, and when you die, you will be seen as a god and worshiped. Funny enough baldur was named by christians as the norse version of christ i an atempt to convert the norse people. Baldur is basically jesus savior of humakind, and yes i know jesus actually existed and had an apple and shroud of eden.

    What if Baldr was a computer Odin made along with Frigg? Baldr was an A. I. believed to be the secret Eighth Solution? Somehow Surtr found out about the AI, stole it and copied it on the Salakar, but for self-preservation, Baldr sent a copy of itself to Hel's simulation? Explains why Juno tried to get close to the tower, to Baldr, because she wanted the information too. Odin had dedicated so much of his life to making Baldr, calling it his son. Baldr is referenced to be the bringer of balance, the hope for Asgard because Baldr was a potential solution. But the A.I. was so advanced, it became self-aware and deemed its own 'life' more important than the rest and stopped calculating and started acting on preserving itself through the Toba Catastrophe.

    I don't know why, but this Assassin's Creed Valhalla story where a part of Baldur's consciousness went into Salakar in the Dawn of Ragnarok DLC and another part of his consciousness went to Hellheim reminds me the concept of soul from Egyptian mythology and African-based religions, in which the soul is divided into 2 parts, a Ba (which would be the soul) and a Ka (which would be another spirit) in the case of the Egyptian, while in the African they believe that there are 2 souls, which for them are 2 angels who sit in the tomb when a person dies, 1 small and 1 large, the 2 ascend to heaven on different dates, and a zombie was created when a voodoo sorcerer captured one of these angels, something like that.
    Now, where this fits in AC lore, I don't know.

    I have one question: How could Odin meet Baldr in Vinland? Because at the end of Valhalla we saw that Eivor won against Odin who was trying to take him over. I thought Odin is dead by now. Or will it just be a dialogue between Baldr and Eivor?

    • @AccessAnimus
      @AccessAnimus  ปีที่แล้ว +10

      The idea would be that because Odin’s DNA is and will always be in Eivor, then technically his consciousness might also still be there, even though Eivor took over and took control. But you are right, the main game does show Eivor defeating the portion of Odin within her, so the devs might also go for that and Baldr might just talk to Eivor - it would feel less poetic though 😛

      The Isu upload their consciousness to the human genome pool through Yggdrasil, where they DNA will travel through generations exhibiting a recessive trait until a random trigger turns that trait into a dominant, which changes the physical and psychological characteristics of said person, and turns it into a reincarnation.

    • @davidestabilini4468
      @davidestabilini4468 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Under favourable circumstances, the dna the Isu inserted in the human genetic pool is recreated as a perfect copy but with a human body. Since memories are in the dna, they can resurface and the Isu himself can, in a way, reincarnate.
      The Aita sages appears many times through hystory. They have a human mind with Aita’s memories presenting themselves like with the bleeding effect. Not all of them were taken over by those memories, mantaining their human mind.
      The sages in Valhalla appear just one time, during the Middle Ages. We don’t know exactly if they have two minds, like the sages above, or (but this is my theory) if they are meant to have just the Isu’s mind thanks to the scar on the neck, but Eivor is different from the others due to the wolf biting over the scar. I would like to defend my theory, but there is no decisive evidence that make one point of view overtake the other.

      There were *some* leaks about tombs of the fallen chapter 2 coming out later this year with some more story implications than the first chapter
      Beyond that? There's not much proof of literally anything
      It is assumed that rift, the game about basim which started as a Valhalla dlc but then got turned into its own game, will come out early 2023, and that this means Valhalla will stop getting support (like dlc and content updates)
      So the thought process is that Valhalla will habe it's final updates towards the end of this year so that next year is cleared for assassin's Creed rift
      There's also the fact that assassin's Creed no longer purely makes main entries but also side games like the infinity game and a missing roadmap for 2023 for Valhalla indicating the end of Eivors journey which i find quite sad because i wished we would get more mythology or more ravensthorpe content next year since I'm in love with the game (and we need more stuff to do while wearing the hugr rip) but nothing is confirmed and who knows if support truly stops.
