Heard that the blue line will go low floor by the end of this month but the middle train will be a sd100 as there are not enough s70 lrv's for 100 percent low floor service.
Trolleys or light rail vehicles are more expensive to maintain but they carry more people more quickly so the cost is justified on busy corridors. Labor is an important cost consideration. Buses can't be coupled together so instead of running trains with 1 driver, a busy bus line needs to run a lot of buses with a driver for each one, that raises labor costs. Slow transit is expensive. Since buses run slower that means people are sitting in seats longer which means having to operate more buses to meet capacity. On busy corridors rail is the way to go!
Zane Hunker Thank you for your reply. Ironic that the trolley was seen by many politicians as old fashioned and buses as the future. But now we know better. I just wish that in parts of Brooklyn and other boroughs they left some trolley lines alone.

Some of them are having their second life in Mendoza, Argentina. 🙂

German trains. >:)
They are Duewag/Siemens U2s. I used to travel on them in Frankfurt in Germany. Calgary and Edmonton also have U2s.
