- One of my most popular videos this year was a lap with the Tesla Model 3 Performance. Great power, but dangerously bad brakes and suspension for the track. I did mention back then already that once those issue would be solved, it would make for a very interesting track toy. Now it is time to find out if I was right.

I forgot to put a mark and get recording of Tesla datalog as well as Scan My Tesla log, unfortunately. But it's obvious we need larger radiator and better seats.
After the lap we, unfortunately, had not enough time to cool down rotors and Castrol SRF boiled out. Those were RB 6 pot calipers, all suspension arms and bushings by MPP and KW suspension (but I recommend MPP version of it with better valving - they ship within EU too).
I should have started with lower tires pressure, but it's possible that 275 is still not wide enough for the power and weight. Unfortunately going 305 requires to file a knuckle.
Even though RB brakes survived, lock nuts of left floating rotor backed off. Also I'm not impressed at how those calipers flex under load and choice of pads is limited. I'm going to upgrade to custom AP setup with some air scoops - those also much lighter.

Max Kosenko good job with the mods! I also own a M3P that I've put 18" wheels on, considering taking it to the track with Federal 265 RS tires. Heard reports from others they'd work well and they're quite affordable too.

Doesn't the Tesla have grab bars above the doors? You hold on there like in a tram, but it's more convenient because you can maintain your body's stability better.
I love how out of all the cars on the track the BMW was the only one paying attention, making room and actually using his indicator. A BMW driver using his indicator is unheard of.

Yeah, it was really hard to keep myself in the seat without steering wheel, proper seat and seat belts.

Love how it’s being used for racing but you can actually have a full conversation inside of the vehicle while setting record breaking times
These cars are lightning quick but they are virtually silent assassins. Get on the pedal and the car jumps immediately like it was hit from behind by a train but makes no sound but wind. As fast as they feel, they would feel faster with an engine roar.

Most definitely.... I started seeing them in the side mirror around 8:50 ...... they are both quick as.
How`s that impressive? If you go to the Nurburgring Wiki page youll notice that the Plaid clocked @ 7:35.579 and that`s indeed a good time, but the other two records of a testla are right at the bottom of the list:
Tesla Model S P85D @8:50
Tesla Model 3 Performance @9.00
The next slowest record is a Chevy Cobalt with time 9:02, done in 2007 ON A WET TRACK 😅, and if you inspect the list closer you`ll find out that the next 10-15-20 cars with better times than the Tesla are economy class cheap hatchbacks from the mid 2000s.
So, yeah, what i`m trying to say is, that if a factory Tesla is slower than a `07 Opel Corsa 1.6 (front wheel drive, torsion beam reax axle, no smart driving assistances) then the one from the video, even modified is probably not faster than the average Hot Hatch of the day.
Your passenger sounds like he needs more fiber in his diet.

The Model 3 is my favorite car being made in 2022..this modded version really highlights how great they are and how smooth they can look with the right shoes and stance.
And the new one that will come out is beautiful, looks like the roadster!

Usually they go faster than the line they turn into, why bother, it's no use for the cars behind anyway... anyone having problem with that is butthurt and can eff off
They are decent about using them in Germany even on road.
Great to see what an after marker suspension can do with Misha's expertise driving on the Nurburgring with the model 3. Even though this was posted 3 years ago, this is still good info for us that want to do the same today for our suspension on our model 3's.

There is a huge difference between being the driver and being the passenger. Especially if the seat you are sitting in is not providing much support... But agree, he sounds very labored :D

@@Bonkatronicks ayo come to Romania and if you see a bmw using his blinkers that means one of 2 things He's a nice guy (wich is impossible to find on Romanian roads) or he found a stick around the stearing wheel and dosen't know what it does, so yea here in Romania BMW's using their blinkers are very rare.
