For a more out of the box idea maybe dive into some PMMC because Night Heaven is in the game and I find them to be quiet interesting the whole business and politics side of it.

Slight quibble because I can't help myself. The SVD wasn't developed from the AK, as most people think. It's got a fairly similar looking design, but the internals are different. The AK family uses a long stroke gas system, whereas the SVD uses a short stroke gas system. Aside from that, the video was great, and I really enjoyed it. I hope you keep it up.

Fun fact the Makarov is a direct blowback and it recoil a surprising a mount for its small carrier and the reason the trigger guard is so big is for thicc soviet gloves

I ended up getting an MPL 50 for airsoft and regular home use. Very good for surprising people who have been to a site more than you, only to find you build a trench system in the 3 minutes they weren't looking at you. I would not recommend use as a pan however.
Also for the shovel the E-tool that the current us army uses has a lot of similar uses with with the exception of the throwing weapon part as it can fold making it difficult to throw in a straight line. On the bright side the handle isn't made of wood is in theory it is more durable, in theory...

Enjoying this series quite a bit, would love it if you'd look through the operator bios in-game and feature the operations they're reported to have been in. I remember learning some fascinating(albeit terrifying) things about Russian military history through those.
Resident gun nerd here. The rotating barrel (supposedly) has a couple advantages over a tilting barrel. Firstly, it can theoretically improve the mechanical accuracy of the pistol because the barrel moves less and can therefore be more consistent. Since pistols with tilting actions are already far more accurate than all but the best shooters I find this to be a bit dubious, but that's what they say. It also can slightly reduce the muzzle flip since there's less mass flipping upwards. Again, I think it's probably a nominal difference at best since when shooting pistols most of the recoil is from the reciprocation of the slide not the round going off, but what do I know? I think the biggest advantage in the eyes of Russia though is probably that it is different than what the western world is using, which seems to be something that's important to them. If you want to get a pistol with a rotary action, Beretta's PX4 line is a good example of one.
